This was a very beautiful reaction and commentary. This is the first time that I have watched you reacting with your wife. I truly enjoyed the two of you together. Dimash's rendition of "Ave Maria" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and no matter how many times I have already watched it, I am still moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice.
This was the final of three songs Dimash premiered in August 2021 during his appearance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note.
Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!"
Another “Dear” fittingly described Dimash’s performances like this: "Every time I hear this beautiful man sing, it feels like he punches a hole in my chest and holds my heart in his hands, holding it so gently, until he finishes singing. Then releases it and removes his hand from my chest, and I'm left with an empty, aching feeling which can only be filled by listening to him sing again! It's a beautifully tortured relationship with Dimash."
The last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master.
There are at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier. * Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship.
Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash.
When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count.
“On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy.

This version of "Ave Maria" was composed-reimagined specifically for Dimash by Igor Krutoy, at Dimash`s request. Igor described the moment like this : "Italians like to say that any composer is worth exactly as much as his latest work is worth, meaning that all previous achievements do not count... I listened very carefully to the fairly controversial and peremptory statement made by representatives of this very musical country (both in the past and in the present), and began to look at my new compositions from the Italian perspective... One evening, about three months before 'New Wave', Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him, explaining his desire to sing something in such a stylistic way... Dimash premiered "Stranger"+"Fly Away"+"Ave Maria" in 2021, at New Wave - a competition, where he participated as a judge and guest performer. These 3 songs were the way he stepped back on stage, on "new ground... new chance to know who I am, if I have the strength to begin again" (Stranger) after ~ 2 years of pandemic restrictions. "Fly Away" spoke of creative freedom and freedom to stay human and apart, in a society where hollow uniformization of thinking takes place due to technology.
"Ave Maria" was performed "thinking of an angel" - bringing celestial gentleness and a driving beat (drums) of encouragement to a world that had suffered immensely.
Dimash himself lost 2 mentors in the summer of 2020, during the pandemic. (one of them - Kenes Duisekeev - prominent composer, Dimash studied Composition with him)

Don't worry. It's perfectly normal to be left speechless ( and often breathless as well ! ) after a Dimash performance. Mesmerising is the word. Yes Magic as well. He is doing so many things with each note and each phrase - with micro precision & micro-intentionality. His skill level is quite phenomenal. You marry that up with the sheer beauty of his voice & great composition ( a brilliant collaboration between Dimash and Igor and the entire production team ) - and this is what we get. I also love that he involved the young performers at this Sochi competition - in 'Stranger' also - as his backing Choir. Providing them with high level performance experience in addition to their individual pieces. They did a great job as well. 😊👍👋

Witamy z powrotem w Dimasha! Ta modlitwa jest wzniosła nawet bez słów. Wywołuje uczucia bez potrzeby mówienia czegokolwiek. Czysta ekspresja. Zgadzam się, że piosenka jest celowa. Pierwsze kilka razy, kiedy to usłyszałem, przypominało mi studia muzyczne grane instrumentalnie podczas nauki, ale jest więcej uczucia i głębi. Chciałbym zobaczyć, jak reagujesz na „Stranger”.
