At $500 (US) seems pricey for a knock off. I'd opt for an original Supernova (if that's your gun of choice) knowing their history, and knowing a few year's down the road they still work, JMO. But always enjoy your videos, Thank you Sir!
Yea… I been looking at it because I like Avalon but 485 /500 dollars is a lot for a replica supernova when I rather get a real used supernova 250-300 ish or ANI 160 or even devilbiss pro lite . I would say it’s a pass unless they cut that price Down to 200 . Anything more than 200 you can get good quality guns with more parts support , I rather rebuild a old GTI or Iwata versus buying a expensive fake
This pistol is exceptional and is not a copy of the supernova. See what an excellent job she was able to do. I loved the end result of this work. We have to understand that it is a new proposal and that with time it will go through evolutions. However, it is an exceptional purchase option.
Man that gun is like a bucket with a hole in the bottom but it's a nice looking gun, liked the idea of a gun review on your Raw channel Gunny and as you say you can't fault the finish came out mint 👏👍 John UK.
have yu ever tried to use higher pressure on side panels (to avoid runs) and lower pressure on horizontal panels. thinning the paint wil reduce the amount of mils thickness applied to the vehicle. thus resulting in using less paint. there is levels to this shyt an Gunner is at the top
@@endo3939 "orange peel" is caused by many different things. if you spray each paint layer smooth the finish will be smooth. you can put more smoother coat on a flat hood by lowering the pressure (won't trap air and less over spray into the over lap)and putting more paint. on a side panel you want more air pressure (less paint for gravity to pull the paint down
Hi gunny I let go of painting for a couple of years and now I am starting to paint again what would you recommend for using for a single stage paint gun and sealer I am painting concrete trucks big jobs thanks
Flat finish aside, even for a hobbyist, the price is too high, paint usage too high, and the overspray could be less with the gun turned down, but as we all know, the flat finish appeal will more than likely be gone. All this being said, they have a whole lineup of Iwata copy guns. Perhaps theres a more affordable and efficient version, like say a LPH400 copy that performs closely for less. Still... invest in the real thing if you have the chance. Parts support is a big key to buying a good gun.

With all spray guns the grass is always greener, Sata, Devilbiss , iawata , if your fellow painter is getting great finishes with an iawata and you are not with your gun of choice, don’t go and buy an iawata, learn how to use your gun of choice, they are all good guns.
the real super nova is a very good gun when it is set up right but it is a very dangerous gun when it is not. It will run quickly and is totally unforgiving if it is not totally dialed in. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I use a super nova for clear on most of my jobs but also a sata 5500 and a tekna pro lite. the Tekna is by far the easiest to use.
...Who cares if it costs $500 when you can get a finish like that... That is outstanding, and isn't that what it's all about.? ..Imagine if he sprayed the base colour with it..??

If the gun is using too much material, reduce the fan size, reduce the tip size, reduce the pressure.
Why buy a copy when the original is either the same price or even cheaper.

Wouldnt spraying different panels on a car at lower and higher pressure produce different orange peel?

You could paint with a bike pump and still get a good finish
