The simplicity of the dash is easy on the eyes. This thing seems like a dream to drive.
My 72k raptor is literally the exact same except a few things like recaro’s, carbon ect. But 40k less I feel like there is much more value in the non R. (Besides re sale in the future)
@stephen lane Yours don't have the extra 250 horsepower. Power you definitely feel when behind the wheel.

@stephen lane I agree. Sure would be nice to afford a 72k truck. What the monthly payment on that like $950? I'm a skilled laborer that wonders why I get up and go to work everyday. It getting old real fast giving everyone else every dime I earn.
@@roostercogburn7243 I put a good down a good amount when I purchased which help offset it a good bit. 15k from previous truck plus around 15k cash. Payment actually isn’t bad.
And when I turn around to sell the thing it’ll hold its value better than any then F150 4x over!
i couldn’t tell you why, but i’d take this over the TRX any day of the week. the interior and the styling just does it for me. an absolute dream

TRX is wayyyy better for what you get with your money. People are already selling their R’s and buying TRX’s instead. I still like the Raptor though.

Dealers near me are selling the Ram TRX at MSRP which is mid 80k. Ford dealers are selling the Raptor R for $110k msrp + $20k dealer markup for a total of $130k. That’s almost a $50k difference my friend.

That was really fun to watch, I believe you pushed this truck real good, not to its limit but good enough for the crap weather.
What a crazy truck! It's amazing they seemed to get it to be so split personality. Raw, playful and almost violent. Then change the settings and it becomes gentle and docile.
And I'm glad they didn't goof with the 'Raptor' logo. Coloring in the orange 'R' looks much better and not silly as if they added an extra 'R' to 'Raptor.'

I was always a fan of the Raptors.. but this one takes the cake. I like it more than the TRX. HEFTY price tag... but this one might actually be worth it.
Just make sure you get the R trim and not the lame V6

This might be the first time I’d say a push button shifter would be a better solution here. That would resolve the cheap feel and still give you the console flexibility. Ford probably skipped it due to the perception of button shifters in trucks.
They certainly didn’t hit their perception with the console shifter either.

Completely agree with what you said about the shifter! I drove the regular Raptor and was a massive disappointment with that new shifter. The foldable feature should be optional cause previous 2 gen Raptors shifters felt way better!
Column shifter would fix that problem and make the console more usable

I’ve never cared about fuel mileage on any vehicle, but man, single digits mpg on premium fuel gives me pause…. I know the truck is expensive to begin with but that’s going to sting every time you fill it up which will likely be more than once a week. Ouch.
I think if you can afford the 110k price tag plus dealer markups you can afford to put gas in it

I wished they did more on the outside, you compare a rebel to a trx and you don't have to know cars to understand there's a clear difference, but a regular raptor vs a raptor r I couldn't tell until I started watching detailed reviews
There is a much bigger difference between a Rebel and a TRX vs a Raptor and Raptor R. Take away the V8 and the R is the same truck.
R vs Raptor is the same except for badging, even interior wise. Might be missing something, but i've seen both side by side and had to look at the badging to see which one is which.

That retracting shifter is cool but scary.. is it possible for it to malfunction and get stuck in the down position? That would certainly leave you stranded, if you can't use those button to shift out of park, if it gets stuck.

They make sure you have your eyes on the road.
Infrared lights, not visible to the human eyes, but slightly visible to cameras.

I still like the TRX more. Plus ram interiors are amazing. Also… you can actually get a TRX and you can get one without a massive mark up

This truck feels like a lethal weapon like I can't believe its street legal doing a 0-60 in 4 seconds with 6000 pounds, you would turn pedestrians into paste if you made a mistake. I felt that way with your Toyota Corolla review too. I wonder if vehicles have gone too far tbh.
And a Rivian weighs 7200 lbs and does 0-60 in 3.2. Scary these huge beasts

The 2010 6.2L Raptor was an upgrade and was $41k. 12 years later and roughly the same upgrade package over the base is almost 3x more. And you're simply not getting 3x the truck. They even weigh the same. I figured with the aluminum body and weight savings Ford has been flaunting for the past 7 years that their top tier performance model would have had significant weight savings. But no, they're the same weight with a whole Liter less of engine size, Plus the obvious supercharger.
I can't believe you drove like that in those conditions without traction control on.

My dream damn truck. My brother in law just got a new TRX he had the Raptor before. Told him if I could afford it I would do the Raptor R all day!!! Great Video showing mad skillz driving in that weather. Love It.

I might consider giving it a test at Long-Lewis Ford Dealership right across from Hoover High School. Would love to get your take on residual value, annual estimate fuel cost, MPH, Horsepower, Mileage range, maintenance cost, State Farm auto insurance rate, property taxes, title fee, license plate fee, applicable fees, and how many %APR did you get with how much % down payment with how much are you paying a month in total? How much per month? Not looking for an all cash buy with, you 10% depreciate right off lot. I saw commercial for 0% APR $0 due at signing and $7,500 cash back. Just wonder what that’s about? In tax credit? Even tho it’s not an electric vehicle like the Rivian 🤔
An ad from TH-cam TV. Maybe it was from WVTM-13 or Fox 6 WBRC local news viewed during the commercial break somewhere in the past 3 months or so of Fiscal 2023. Q1 Earnings reports for Ford Motor Corporation may be something I might consider, but may have to compare the 2023 edition of the Hoover Toyota Tundra as well. It seems a bit overpriced at $109,000 MSRP for that Ford F-150 Raptor, even considering all the option upgrade and pricing. What’s the Base MSRP? For that amount, I could cop any decent 2021-2022 edition of black BMW X/X6 or black Range Rover Sport all black interior and exterior
I prefer the ttV6- it’s a more “special” engine….before you start blabbin bout power figures, consider this- other than 2 years where the platinum or limited (whatever’s higher trim- I forget) had the 3.5HO, the ONLY other vehicle to share that engine is the Ford GT. No- the regular 3.5 is not close to the same. They share the same long block, but the crank/pistons/cams/rods etc on the 3.5HO are unique- all forged internals shared w/ the GT- super strong - & more importantly? Perfect to handle extra boost, a 93 octane tune + a HD intercooler = faster than the Raptor R & won’t break (the Supra of sport trucks)

I’m surprised that Ford actually got their truck back based on the way you drove it!! I think that the TRX sounds way better,has still the best looking interior and looks way more menacing…..I’ve had 2 generations of Raptors and would not trade my TRX for another Ford!!!
Really hope they continue to make these for a while. Hopefully until 2030-2035+. It would spice up the pickup industry.
As somebody who owns a TRX, I'd take this every day of the week. Hell, I miss my V6 Raptor. Dodge vs Ford, It's not even a competition.

Its more. 110k Raptor R is like 0 options and good luck getting it for that price. Regular F150 Platinum is like 81+ k

The sound on higher rpm is not pleasant, steering wonders on hard full, trx is sportier to drive trx interior is way superior
