  • In this Video I talk about the Gold Prospectors Association of America and how clubs are beneficial to everyone from new prospectors to seasoned miners! I also pan out a bag of gold paydirt I got from the GPAA when I renewed my membership!

    Thanks, that's really useful. I like your panning technique - even without the riffles you got it down perfectly! :o)

    Im a GPAA life member, but ive never been to any of their claims yet. No transportation. The nearest chapter is nearly 100 miles one way. I have Tom & Perry's cleanup sluice but no decent step by step instructions on building an adjustable frame support to put it on.

    • @GoldPanDann
      @GoldPanDann  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know how that is having the chapters so far away! I am a good 2.5hrs away from the closest chapter. The Tom and Perry is a great clean up sluice! However, for just running classified material as a highbanker, it is not the best.
      I don't have a stand for mine, I just place it between a 5 gallon and a 3 gallon bucket. It gives a steeper slope, but with a lower water flow from a hose, it works great. I may have to build an adjustable stand and give step by step instructions in a video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@GoldPanDann, yeah I'm only using Tom and Perry's sluice for cleanup of concentrates.
      I do need a cheap way to convert my 10" Jobe with legs and maybe the 6" Garrett without legs sluices to a takedown highbanker with an attachable garden sprayer. Try to make them multipurpose. I've also got an EZ-Sluice that could be laid below the 6" sluice. Big question would be at what slope?
      Wondering if I should change the riffles on either the 10" or 6" sluice? I'm on the East side of the Klamath Mountains.

    • @GoldPanDann

      @@johnruckman2320 A drop of 1 inch per foot of length is a good start. If you have less water flow, increase the drop. The riffles should be just fine. I added miners moss on top of the carpet in my sluice. It holds a lot more material, but keeps the fine gold better.
      I've considered building a small hopper to go on mini power sluice. Giving the ability to classify and get the dirt wet before going in the sluice.

    • @GoldPanDann
      @GoldPanDann  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's awesome! At just shy of $60 a gram currently, that's paid for itself plus some! As you hone your techniques and learn more about the claims, how the gold is deposited, and where other people don't look. You'll do even better!

    That was fun to watch! Is there any benefit or need for spouses to both join a club or is only one needed/beneficial? Does it depend on the club itself?

    • @GoldPanDann
      @GoldPanDann  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I didn't in this video. I only use jet dry when I am running all my concentrates from a day of digging. It is necessary if you want to save the very small gold as it may float away without it. And congratulations on joining! They have a good amount of claims with fairly easy to follow directions!

    I would be interested in panning for gold watching plenty of videos, but my mind is also drawn towards anything that feels entertaining. I think that is part of me being on the autism spectrum being interest focused. Along with my other interests. 😅🍕🎢💲
    Do you think you can find out if they would be able to provide transportation if you are in the Loris South Carolina area? I will be moving to SC soon. Just trying to get stable income going along with my knowledge of passive income. I think it might be cheap enough for me to get membership. So, I'm curious if you would know who to ask about transportation? but without transportation due to no driver's license, I think doing it as a group would be best in my case. I am also willing to travel for gold, rather than just in my nearby area. I don't know anyone personally who would be interested. Maybe one person but he will be back in NYS. Just curious, thanks. 🙂

      Thanks for watching and commenting! I know a couple autistic people and they all found prospecting to be very rewarding and fun to do!
      To answer your questions, most of the gold in South Carolina is centralized in the mid/north part of the state. There is a gold belt that comes down from North Carolina. The GPAA club has a couple chapters in North Carolina (closest chapter is about 2hrs from you). South Carolina has one vhapter, but they are 5hrs away.
      Transportation is hard for this stuff unless you find someone local to you that is also interested in it. You can try posting on local Facebook pages asking about people that are gold prospectors. Just be careful with doing that. You could also try contacting the north Carolina chapter in Aberdeen and see if there are any members close to you.
      If you have any more questions I'll do my best to help!

      @@GoldPanDann I think we are good. I'll see what I can find. Good to know what is in the area. I think transportation can be figured out after the move. I'm also looking to get a tesla if I can. That might help a little when money is saved up. I also agree about asking in Facebook pages. I would usually need to get to know the person first before asking. I was wondering more about the membership when it comes to transportation. Thanks. 🙂

      @@GoldPanDann I thought to update. I do know there are virtual assistant websites out there. So, if everything fails I can try getting a virtual assistant and hopefully they can find a companion that I would be looking for. I see a website that only charges $11 an hour only when you decide to use them. Depending the plan you choose or the website. The website I found have assistants from a different country but they have US assistants as well but that would cost more per hour. I don't think it is pricey if you only need it once a while. Hopefully that works. Not exactly sure but I think Virtual assistants can help with anything as long it can be done at a distance. 😁🍕

      @@kody_Pizza2 I'm not sure how that works, but I hope it works out if you go that direction! :)

      @@GoldPanDann Its basically like having a personal assistant that helps you do things that you don't feel like doing or if you are too busy, but at a distance. So, if you have over 1000+ videos that needs uploading to be on TH-cam, this is when an assistant comes in. Or they can make phone calls for you, managing your schedule, scheduling a meeting, research, making comments on Your channel instead of you, your to do list, etc. But these are just some examples that I know of being my guess.
      But hopefully it works. I'll basically use it as my last option. Due to my communication, I could clearly use an assistant for my phone calls. 🙂
