This episode with the original commercials (Chooz Antacid Chewing Gum, Goodyear Neolite shoes from Thom McCann and Lysol Disinfectant Spray)
was first aired March 16, 1964 on KGO TV in San Francisco, CA. Ernie sings (I WANNA BE AROUND), (DREAM WHEN YOUR FEELING BLUE) and (I AM A POOR WAYFAIRING STRANGER). In the audience are the wives of 118 special agents of the FBI from the SF Bay area at the time. They are all members of the FBI Wives Association and are represented by Carolyn Rudrow (husband was Lee Rudrow) and Audrey Andress (husband was Ray Andress). Ernie places a phone call to Carolynne Rudrow's mother Mrs. Clara Cour in Indianapolis. Jim Lang from the future Dating Game was discovered here. They present Ernie with an autographed book, (Masters of Deceit) written by J.E. Hoover. Ernie makes a commentary on short clip of "wake boat surfing" using a standard surfboard and motorboat. Next Ernie does a sales pitch of the 1964 Eureka Whisk handheld vacuum cleaner for only $19.95.
In this next segment one of the most talented entertainers of the era, Billy Strange sings the Ray Charles hit song "What'd I Say" while playing his Fender Jaguar that dates according to his son to at least 1962.
    This is from Jerry Strange:
He is also the singing voice of Steve McQueen in the movie, “Baby the Rain Must Fall”.

He was also married to Joan O'Brian 1954-1956 who marries Elvis in the movie, It Happened at the World's Fair 1963" & Cary Grant in, Operation Petticoat 1959". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_O%...
Billy Strange work with Elvis Presley, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, Leon Russel, Glenn Campbell, The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean to name just a very few and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum as a member of the famed Wrecking Crew in 2007.
Strange played themes for such TV shows as "The Munsters" (1964), "Batman" (1966), and "Have Gun - Will Travel" (1957). He is the guitarist heard on the theme to "The Munsters".
These are comments from fans that were made on a previous low quality version of this production.

Billy Strange was born in Long Beach, CA back when it was nothing but sand dunes and oil derricks. His parents were country western musicians. I believe he wrote a few songs that Elvis made hits.

Carolynne Rudrow was my Mom!!!! I was 3 when she and the Ladies were on the show. She loved Tennessee Ernie Ford. She made those name tags and I still have hers from the show! I’m amazed to find this. I’m shaking right now!
PS…….You have her name spelled incorrectly.

I am so happy you found this. As I was posting it I wondered how long it would take before a family member of one of these fine ladies would discover this film. My apologies for the misspelling of your mother’s name. I must also tell you, if I remember correctly the film this video was taken from once belonged to your father. There was a note on it addressed to him I think. I’ll dig up the original real and get a picture of it for you. Send me an email if you are interested so that I might not forget. Send it to “officeofimagearchaeology@yahoo.com” Thank you for watching.
