This is good but it clearly ignores the decision to try to retake Yangon, which both Chiang Kai Shek and Wavell thought was a bad idea by March 9th, but that Stilwell bullied them into.
Good quality and detailed video as usual! The only problem is that the narrator's pause between sentences are a little too short, causing the issue of "too much information" in a short period of time. I'd suggest make pauses between each paragraphs longer for audience to digest the content we've just received. Cheers
My battalion in which I have served i.e. 1st Punjab Regiment took part in the battle of Kohmia & on 18th April 1944 they attacked and captured the key to British defenses in Kohmia which were captured by the Japanese during their siege in Kohmia. It was a brutal attack in which the Japanese casualties were over 700 and we lost 120 men. In this attack my father as a subleton also took part.
My great grandad was captured by Japan in Java he was part of the RAF and was in a Japanese POW camp for three years he was thought to be dead as well until later in the war my family were written a letter telling them he was alive
Same here again he did survive he was in the 12th army. But other than that we didn't know where he was stationed although he was doing long range penetration duties.
informative video - only problem, please stop pronouncing 'corps' as 'corpse' - it's pronounced more like 'core'. thank you looking forward to part 2 - the empire strikes back!
Lmao why tf would the commander order a retreat to Yunnan while India is like 10x closer. Srsly just retreat to India and receive some modern training and equipment so the NRA can actually be useful in combat.
The mispronunciation of CORPS - countless times - is ruining this for me! Not CORPSE but just COR - As an ex-member of the Royal Signal Corps it is making my ears bleed. Sorry! This campaign has always fascinated me (my mum lost her youngest brother as a Chindit) would love to know more about the state of the Burma Army, numbers, units, combat/equipment strengths.

Thailand would send troops into the Shan states behind the Japanese.
The battle ended with the victory of Japan and the annexation of Myanmar
