Thanks for this vid. I’ve got a Mini Cooper Hatch 1.6 R56 2011 that had the same problem. Intermittent misfires. It got worse this week with the engine light coming on and flashing, so I booked it into a garage for this Tuesday. The diagnostic test was gonna cost £49.99 alone! Yesterday I thought I’d look on TH-cam for tips and saw this video. So I ordered a coil pack from Europarts, £25, swapped the same coil pack as you, no.4 this morning and it’s sorted the problem. No misfires. Gonna cancel that garage visit now. Possibly saved me £200!! Thanks again!

It was your explanation at the end of your vid that did if for me. It was exactly what I was getting. Hard to explain to a mechanic. Thanks again, again, you’re a star!

Thanks. I had a cylinder 3 misfire. Turbo felt strained. Replaced coil #3 and it sounds better, smoother turbo not kicking in completely yet. Maybe a few more miles. Thanks so much. Super helpful and easy as you promised.

Thanks very much! Your description of symptoms was spot on! I also had an introductory offer from eurocar parts so got my coil pack for just £12! So I bought 2 just in case? Saved me a few bob in garage charges!!

I’m having problems when taking off in my Cooper none turbo. It’s jerking from around 0-20mph, I change the spark plug and the problem was less but still there I’m about to change the wire and coil pack to see if that helps I was thinking it was my transmission

Bugger, did the trick of turning the car on and unplugging each coil to check if any noise reduction and the 4 all seem to work. Spark plugs next I think

Do you think it's a case of just buying 1, take out old put new in and see if that works and if it don't just put old coil back in and work your way through it?

Didn't take long to go wrong did it! At least it was a cheap fix. I'm sure they would have done it under warranty, but it's just quicky to do it yourself.
