A lot of people just looks at the codes... and replace whatever is faulting... Even if there is other issues causing those components to falsely report faults... I see it all the time... Well done! 👍👍👍
Same issues are very common on the Vauxhalls, especially the 1.4 petrols, car wont start or runs really rough and stinks of fuel, check temp sensor and reading 100+ degrees and its cold! Good find and good fix
It is the HPFP(High Pressure Fuel Pump) 2008 R56 S did exactly the same thing. MINI extended the warranty to 120,000 miles and 10 years….very common problem. Very hard to diagnose. Drove me nuts….
It’s the HPFP(High Pressure Fuel Pump) my 2008 R56 S exact same thing…such an issue, MINI extended the warranty of the fuel pump to 10 years or 120,000 miles. Fixed mine perfect.
How's she goin'? Igor the Autel scanner sure comes in handy, but you still need to do some diagnosis and trouble shooting eh. Nice job done here and I bet the customer is some happy!!! A nice rewarding job for sure!!! Take 'er easy!!!
I have the opposite problem. 2010 Mini Cooper r56 N12 runs fine at first when cold but after driving it for 45 min or so I get rough idle and even stalling at a stop light. Seems to run a little smoother with the air conditioner on - so under a bit of load. It shows a P0302 2nd cyl misfire but coil/plug etc stuff not the problem.
I have a 2010 Mini R56 turbo that has a misfire when cold, also has low engine vacuum, and fuel trims are negative 2.34. Car runs fine after it warms up, still has low engine vacuum. Cylinder 2,3,4 spark plugs are wet with oil. The vacuum pump is working fine, what would cause low engine vacuum. The Manifold pressure is 7.4 psi.
Just discovered oil in 2 of my plug wells. There are o ring seals where the plugs go through the rocker cover. I need replace the gasket set, which involves the rocker cover gasket, 4 o rings for the plug access and 2 more for the central bolts. This is the only thing left for why my vacuum at idle suffers, having replaced everything else related to creating or maintaining the vacuum.. Hope this helps
To my knowledge of the shelf replacement plugs for electrical connectors do not exist by manufacturer, BMW will suggest you need to replace the wiring loom. I bought one from a breakers yard, cut off the plug I needed and wired it into place myself. A bit fiddly but if you know anyone who can deal with electrical stuff, they may well be able to assist you. It doesn't look pretty, but it was far more cost effective than a new or used harness and the labour involved to switch the loom out.
Ive had my mini r56 at the mechanics for a over a year now and we dont know what causes the rough idle/start and needs to step on the gas a lot like you did and then the orange engine light comes on so the3 car is really slow and no power. When i switch the car off, the fan stays on for a while. The fan even stays on for a while even if you just cold start it once and the fan stays on everytime. Can you please shed some information on this? i really want to fix the car desperately
Which sensor is this please? I'm facing a similar issue and want to be able to suggest this possibility to my mechanic but have no idea which sensor you've changed. Thanks
Trying to catch up on the old vidgeo uploads 😊 . I went down that route first too 🥵 for some reason it didn’t have any fuel trim data available. Have you purchased any more cars lately ? You have been quiet . I hope things are ok with you all 👍
@@CarsExposed all good here mate been super busy with with other stuff, work, house etc... I did get a new project, was going to record it but I fixed it in 2 hours and for 150 dollars, not even worth recording...all electric, been driving around in it for that last month or so...lol

You are correct about oil temp that's displayed on scan tool. It is indeed worked out using engine temp sensor
Good job man ! I have already made a command to a new coolant sensor temperature... cheap fix i hope ...thanks for the video !!!

This seems identical to my issue ... Thanks for video - does 2010 Mini have cold start valve ?
It's an n18 engine, the rpm is shaking and the exhaust gas warning light is on. Will this be fixed if I change the sensor?

Hey Mike , yeah the Autel is your best friend when comes to fixing Europeans, customer was over the moon cheers mate 👍
I changed the whole thermostat housing with two new sensors two months ago and now it has these same symptoms I doubt mine needs a temp sensor.
I watched this video word for word and never once did he say the name or what he replaced what’s this called ?😊
Water sensor
Engine coolant temperature sensor.
Engine oil temperature sensor.
What is that sensor you replace called?
many thanks , you solved my problem :)

I would have ordered a high pressure pump without seeing the car.
These engines are crap.
Crap is an understatement 🤣🤣👍
Such a shame too. Cute car, but a piece of shyt.

Hello I have a problem with the code 00321D
Would this cause a low idle even when warm?
