Thanks for this. I can't get the swing arm bolt out at 10mins 14secs. Hammer pulling all day. Think I'll need something hydraulic at this stage to get it out. Phew.
great video used your information to get my one going thanks🙂
Great job Looking forward to seeing more bikes
Brilliant video! I have a '63 BSA Rocket Goldstar with a similar speedo and tach. Are all the Smith's speedos of that era chronometric and move in larger increments as opposed to smoothly? Thanks again!
You make it look so easy, the learning curve must of been tremendous. Well done.
Thank you very much Chris!
used Lukasz services on a pair of esa shocks a few years ago, brilliant
Great video. thank you
Good video on one of the most frustrating jobs on any 4 cylinder 80's Kawasaki but that background dance "music" is just not needed. TBH, I prefer the sound of your compressor! :)
Great video mate, got to do these on my brothers A1 so nice refresher on getting them out. Did mine years ago, I remember they were a right pain so perfect timing finding you video. Thanks, Vinny. 👍👍👍😊😊
Thank you! Saved me $$ by doing it myself.
Nice detailed video, free from irritating music and right to the point. Many thanks.
First off…get a proper mic..or at very least, get out of the wind, because the wind noise is overriding the AGC on your recording device, effectively rendering you…incomprehenisble. Secondly, the radiator/fairing stay, is NOT intended for jacking the bike up.
good video, shows how to remove the rear shock easily, a couple of safety notes: centerstand should be tied to the front rim so the bike will not fall if it rocks forward, the negative battery post should be removed just in case the 15mm wrench he was using were to grab the positive battery post. Good video still, I love the way you work in riding gear! Nice gear BTW
Not sure if I missed it but what’s the axel hex size?
Thank you so much. I was somewhat nervous about replacing it as I’m not mechanical at all but your video really helped. Cheers 🍻
thank you , very helpfull
Great video thanks bate i have to do this tomorrow morning
Thanks very much for this help. I didn’t know how to take the needle of so all is well now.
Great work, very interesting, most people would have just looked for a very expensive new one. It's all about trying were possible and practical keeping it original. Well done.
Great video, thanks for the help 🙏🏾😊
Thank you
Can you share the sizes of the bulbs please?
Thank you.
Had a c11 in 1972 made a great chopper
Good man I’ve done the same to mine today on my BSA a65 1965 Removed and cleaned it
How did you get the trip mileage shaft to come back out through the case in order to reattach the trip zero knob back on?
There’s a second hole in the post Pull the post and insert a solid bit of wire about .5 mm and poke it through the bottom hole then let go you can now fit the knob back on the top hole then pull the wire out I did it to mine today 😊😊
Jesus man remove the tank ans coils that's it
Excellent job ❤ dreading this but it has to be done old girls birthday 40 year's old ill have to treat her 😂
Thank you. 👍👍
Thank you very much for the video, very clear and easy to understand👍
Pleased to help!
Thanks for that, I'm about to dismantle my D1 Speedo👨🏻🔧
What would i expect to pay for one in that condition?
Hi Chris, if you can do all the work yourself, possibly no more than £2500?
@@projectmoto9089 Thank you
Perfect thank you, I've the same issue currently...
The other thing worth checking is your spark plug gap!!!
Looks like an interesting project.
Thanks Frank, I'm hoping I turn it into something very special.
Great project about 3 or 4 technology notches higher than the BSA C10, but your just the guy to pull it off.
Thank you very much Chris. It's going to be a test that's for sure.
Thank you for a very helpful video. My speedo has the same problem. I'm wondering if you looked at anything other than WD40 for cleaning this mechanism? Presumably jewelers use something to clean fine mechanisms - I suspect it isn't WD40!
WD-40 Worked perfectly for me, but if people can find something better by experimenting, then yes of course. Or just do what I did, which worked for me.
Great job done, you came a long way in a very short time to get the bike ready for the charity ride, it look very smart, well done.
Thank you Chris. I need a new project now...
Your making a lovely job of it mate, fair play to you 👍👍👍
Thank you very much, thats very kind of you to say!
great job ,where did you got the parts let us know thx
So most of the parts came from a place called Brit Bits in Christchurch in the UK.
Well done on that you’ve done a lovely job!! 🙌😊💯
Thank you very much, thats very kind of you to say!
I owned a BSA C10 back in 1963, mine had the speedo situated in the petrol tank, not the fastest 250 ever made but was quite reliable
Yes, it does seem to be pretty good, apart from the fuel evaporating...
Just wonderful to hear the amount raised by this event, over 1000 riders wow what a logistical challenge. Thank You and always the content was brilliant.
Thank you very much! The Poole DGR was the biggest in the country, and has now raised nearly 80, 000GBP Also, as far as I can see, only one other "city" in the world had more riders!! How amazing. To put that into context, Los Angeles CA only had 497 Riders.
Great job! Have a great ride😅
Thank you so much, looking forward to it.
I had a round trip of over 60 moles a day for year's on a C15 with the SS80 engine... Only one easily solved problem, the Coil gave up. My mates brought me a pair from my garage !!🎉
Fantastic , I love stories like this !
What a beauty....
Thank you very much!
Great job done, looks fabulous, hope to see it on the charity run next Sunday.
Thank you very much Chris, and thank you once again, it's been a real pleasure to work on.
You did a good job on the old BSA, sounded lovely and looked a treat.
Thank you very much!!
Great video... exactly what I needed to do this myself...just about to pull shicok over lunch.thx
Really helpful, I'll check this first, but I think my motor is gone. I would also recommend refilling and checking the washers before putting the guard and wheel back on though in case there are leaks or it isn't fixed! thanks again for an informative video!
Definitely a good idea!
When you remove the shock does the bottom bolt have a bushing that also has to be removed before you can slide the bottom out?
Hi Matt sorry I didn't see your question. I checked through the video, and didn't see anything on my bike.
