Squirrel The special lights with the white horizontal and vertical stripes are especially for busses. Sometimes Busses get 'green' before the other traffic so they can pull before all other cars so they can keep their schedule. Horizontal bar means stop or 'red light' for the bus and vertical bar means go or 'green'. Thats to not confuse other drivers if they have green or not so busses get special lights.
Moin or Mojn is a word used in Northern Germany and Southern Denmark (all Germany north of Hamburg used to belong to Denmark until 1864 and most of Southern Denmark used to belong to Germany from 1864-1920) it simply means "Hello" or "Goodbye" it´s just a greeting Squirrel :D
You're missing the Northern of the Netherlands in that row. Especially the provinces Groningen and Drenthe. Although they will silence that N in moin, so you just get "Moi" often followed by an exclamation mark as it is being said cheerfully. ;)
LogiForce86 I´ve been to Groningen and yes they say something like that. But the big difference is that the german and danish Moin/Mojn is pronounced the exactly same way the dutch is a lot different in the pronunciation :)
Yo :) 1. To minimize the risk of DirectX out of memory errors on maps with large textures (like the hamburg map) you should reduce some graphics settings. 2. The collect money command also removes the ticket from the desk. You kept snatching away the tickets you gave passengers before they could take it, that's why they'd say you didn't give them a ticket. 3. It's written in the red text in the upper left corner what they passengers are asking for, in English. You don't need to try and understand the german. Also, you don't need to keep checking your schedule - that same red text has an exact delay indicator for your schedule, with seconds and everything. 4. You need to open the passenger windows as well if the temperature in the bus gets too warm. (In newer bus mods such as the Citaro or Solaris Urbino you can switch on the aircon). 5. Also, as mentioned before, the back door on the SD200 is automatic, you don't need the stroller switch for it to open. The bus lane traffic signals mean (-) = stop, (|) = go; also the (A) that lights up on the top means the signal registered your bus and will change soon.
I can not really find out if I like this game or not, but there is something about it that appeals to me. A little fun to watch you run bus when you think back for a half year time ago how much you swore buses away in ETS2, so you've expanded your Squirrel company with route buses. So you are anywhere on sea, air and road. Squirrel comes everywhere.
Awesome... a lot of people upload TH-cam videos of this game but only showing mods etc, they don't actually play it, this is the first video I've seen proper gameplay, I don't know why but I love just watching a boring bus drive it's route while S talks. Do more!.. Make it longer next time with a harder map with more things to overcome. I seen one with cops pulling you over for speeding etc, or accidents making you take another route.
What are you talking about. There are a bunch of people who play the game. Most of them are indeed non-english but there are people who do that. You just have to look around.
Well that was the funniest thing I have seen in ages I just love the fact that even though pretty much everything went wrong you kept the video going and uploaded it, this is the first time I have come across OMSI2 it looks great, albeit a bit buggy, at the moment I play TS2015, ETS 2 and really like these sim type games thank you for sharing, I also like your style of commentary it makes things even more entertaining
Incredible game! I loved watching it, the noise of the bus just brought back some memories from the time I used to travel by bus in the 90's. I could watch an episode a day, if it's not to much trouble :) This could be the start of a great series!
If you press the light blue button on the IBIS, you should get voice announcements for the stops, and you can also press Q to cycle through stops without pressing the next stop button on the IBIS.
Never thought a Bus video would be good to watch Paul, but you do have a talent for making ordinary things look much better than they actually are. Thanks for posting.
It's actually a very fun game to watch you playing :) Would love to see more! "Moin Moin" or nowadays mostly just "Moin" is just as simple as "Hello, Hi.." etc. But it's mostly only (lol?) used in northern Germany, since it's original origins comes from the seafaring. A sailor saying "Moin Moin" to another sailor meant something like "i wish you good wind". Nowadays it's only used to greet ppl.
I know I'm late, but the reason you got lost is that at 09:07, you should have turned right, but you instead went down a one-way street the wrong way. This is why at 09:16, you can see the taxis and other cars turn right, and why the turn onto the main road at 10:29 was so difficult. 😂
This brings up so much memories! I used to ride in this one every day when I was going to school and it was white too, but not double decker. It was a regular one :)
very interesting bus simulator. something that does not happen often when i watch youtube video's, but you Squirrel have that something, i can't quite explain, but after watching some of these video's, i really want to check them out myself. Really enjoy watching your vids
I'm impressed how accurate the walltextures are. I life in Hamburg and the houses and most of the shops are exactly on the positions they are in reality. so if you come to hamburg you will know that part of town already :D
In my opinion the passengers where so unhappy at the first stop, because you passed a redlight. For trains and busses we have special traffic lights, which have white stripes. A horizontal stripe stands for a crossing train or bus therefore it stands for red. Thanks for your videos i really enjoy them. Greets from germany.
28:44 you're lucky, in Hamburg, double decker will only be used for sightseeing and when a far distance bus came. In Berlin it's carefully planned, what lines are compatible to double decker.
Hey Squirrel They might have complained that you didn't wait for the speciel bussignal to change... I might have to say that im a busdriver myself.. ;) Horizontal white line on the trafficlight for busses means RED (STOP) The upright line means GREEN (Drive) Btw.. busses like that are usally 4 meters high.. I know its tallest allowed in Denmark.. Squirrel
Love omsi 2. One thing @dasquirrel you don't need to flick the switch to acknowledge the stop. you apply the station brake and the passenger's open it themselves.
Squirrel - This series is the stream i love the most, im just laughing my lungs out of yer lack of patience with the passengers and that, but i simply love yer passion for them and the game.
The newer buses in Berlin have infra-red sensors that control traffic lights. Which come handy especially at night, when you have a tighter time schedule. I think they are from 1989 upwards in the MAN series of buses.
The button in the middle of the "previous" and "next" on the IBIS-system, I believe advances through the stops as well, only it'll also announce certain stops. Furthermore there are bus-lanes, use them ! :D Also I believe that the back doors open & close automatically with the switch up, when you turn on/off the "station-brake", no need to do anything with that. Lastly, maybe consider turning on the steering wheel again, it's a bit discombobulating with it off. :) Love your videos, keep up the great work!! :D * I guess you figured out about the bus-lanes :) That's what you get for writing a comment before watching the entire video :D
Amazing job being able to drive with a "frosty" bus! I actually use the original Bus Simulator. It's much more stable and as far as I can see, is essentially the same sim. This one has a few more buses to drive and different routes, but it's all cosmetic to me. They play the same.
"Some people really don't appreciate watching you learn how to do something, it seems. They expect you to be an instant expert." I remembered this when I saw friday night stream Paul playing this game.
GustavLjungberg Yeah it was. But you remember the people who were complaining about the time Paul trying to figure the game out? This quote is from Paul himself, about a year ago.
LMAO Squirrel man this video was hilarious, although watching that kid walk at me from the back of the bus after you run outta memory will probably haunt me for the rest of my life hahahah good job man keep it up.
That was so very funny watching you drive around with the snow white bus, yet you still managed it rather nicely. I think you should do the bendy bus, those are rather hard to turn around corners and such, as far as I have seen.
I have watched Squirrel's OMSI 2 playlist at least 8 times, and I am just realizing that when the bus went white, Squirrel could have enabled the AI bus driver until the bus went back to normal.
To Squirrel. If you are a bit confused on white lights on a traffic signal it is easy to understand them. If the white signal is VERTICAL you many continue on with your journey ( route) on the other hand if the white signal is HORIZONTAL you do NOT!!! continue you MUST STOP!!! until vertical lights show. These are used in some countries where trams are used but, buese are also Kent obey them aswell.
Totally amazing journey, Squirrel! Seeing other buses and new techniques is very cool and I can't wait to see more games like these. (That directx error tho :P)
This was an absolute blast of an indie game. What a kick. Do more and I'll vote door a bindie bus to judge your sense of distance 😁. Thanks loads mate.
Great video! Some tips: 1. You could have looked up, to that red lines above, for time and schedule. 2. If you have set up your clutch in the game, you can use it (automatically) as a next bus stop button. 3. You didn't need to press that button for the back door, it automatically did open already. Great video as I said.
I can't believe that a game made in 2013 has more REAL Simulation to it with moving people and proper ticketing, than any game of its kind in 2018. Talk about F'd up. I really hope there is something newer like this in development now, but either way with its graphics (which I don't mind), and its quirky bugs, it has me sold and I just bought it, cheers Squirrel. The ticketing system reminds me of when I was a kid watching the Driver from the seat behind and always being facinated by it all. Talk about great attention to detail. Great job MR-Software GbR and I hope you have more like this in the future. (OMSI 2 Remastered ;D ) (and hey you may even get to learn some Deutsch.)
I want to see more of this pretty please! It maybe troublesome for you squirrel, but please keep doing this even if it's a bit unstable, the glitches make up for some laughs lol.
Squirrel the nutty bus driver. Try a bendy bus, also do some Berlin routes. And if you continue the series then obviously you have to check out the Citaro busses and other mods.
Terrific videos Squirrel.( As always.) Wasn't quite able to explain to Mrs Badger, why it was I was happy sitting for the last couple of hours watching you drive a bus! :) Ice Bus bug aside this seems to run beautifully on your system. I had a really bitter sweet experience with the original "OMSI". Initially driving around the practice town everything seemed to run alright (with a little tweaking) and I was thoroughly enjoying the blast of pure nostalgia I was getting from the excellent sound effects as I drove my rickety bus around the route. Loved it. But having learned the basics, moving onto the main city was a disaster! My system stuttered and lagged and no changes I tried seemed to make any difference and this on a machine which while admittedly not high end, happily throws around sims like "DCS World" and games like the "Total War" series on a regular basis. It very much took my head out of the game and I hated it. When I saw the sequel for sale I had high hopes that perhaps the developers might have given a little more priority to optimization, but a comment I read on on Amazon probably tells me all I need to know. "OMSI 1 Buggy and poorly optimized. OMSI 2 Extremely buggy and un-optimized". Seeing you run it so smoothly though...... well it almost makes me want to take the gamble........ Almost. :) Badger
I think the sfx on this game are amazing. apart from the odd problems with the game like the ambulance mating with other cars in part one lol, I think it looks like a good game to play if you like simulators based on transport
Well, last comment was 3 yrs.ago, but I shall leave a comment anyway....Fantastic, entertaining, I loved it! I may even buy it if my system can run it!
33:11 Bartels in Winterhude is the franchise taker of this Edeka groceries store. Edeka means Einkaufsgenossenschaft der Kolonialwarenhändler, what is the Shopping Cooperation of grocer.
The white dash traffic lights are extra for buses to make them independent from normal traffic. Thats why passengerns were unhappy about your driving at beginning :)
That was fun Paul, play this all the time. I have the same issue with DX9 out of memory, i just have to restart the game and it allows you to continue were you left off. Its a good game and yes would love to see more videos one day, thanks for the fun.
Squirrel you don't have to flip the switch the rear doors open automatically when the button is pushed and you activate the Station Break and it closes automatically once all of the passengers that wanted off get off are off
great video... thanks for sharing... I just purchased this game and was having trouble setting up my timetables and start point.... so this did help me out! thanks
Squirrel, great video, but you don't need to set the buggy switch, on some buses (all of the buses in game) the back doors will automatically open when you set the station brake. Also you should map the station announcements to a button so that you can do it easier.
Make the steering wheel ( in game ) visible so we can see the steering wheel move.
I think it gets in the way of the buttons. I see your point, but I barely noticed.
***** i would be nice to see the wheel but i also agree with tallulahsoie cause i barely noticed it.
I agree!!!!!:-)
I guess
It's 2022 and I am commented on 7 year old comment
I like all your simulations, but I like the bus ones best. Your interactions with the passengers keep me in stitches! Very funny.
Squirrel would be one mad bus driver lol, "what you want a ticket as well mate? Seriously? Pissss off"
"Im going to this place so a ticket please". Yeeees beutiful weather today! lol
Naw! Jnr-Snr is way worse
Best 80 minutes of footage so far! Thanks for the entertainment as always. Keep on Trucking/Training/Busing/Shipping!
"Moin Moin" is a commonly used term of greetings in northern germany. It can be used any day or night time and is widley spread and really old aswell.
I heard that too in southern Germany in Bade-Wurtemberg, I guess this word has gone a long way :)
in norway it means good morning
You're missing the Northern of the Netherlands in that row. Especially the provinces Groningen and Drenthe. Although they will silence that N in moin, so you just get "Moi" often followed by an exclamation mark as it is being said cheerfully. ;)

Lol that kid was halarious. I loved how Squirrel just went with him still standing up :D
Am I the only one who really wants another Bus or coach sim from SCS!
SCS makes Truck sims, so I believe they will have bus tech as well
You are not the only one :D
@sock06555 Ya but that was a long time ago
@sock06555 I mean, its old

tuesday night busing, with squirrel and his nuts.... he makes you get on down and drive some euro buses....
lol so true
I like that it is funny because it is like the SNT song.
...He makes you get on down and drive some white bus..
Sorry man but they were complaining when you hit the curb in the beginning... Bumpy ride :P
Thank you so much Squirrel! I was able to get OMSI 2 for $16.00 which is less than half of the price on steam! Love these simulators!
0:10 my kettle when it is boiling

paddy anderson there's quite a few actually... rioletsplays, qwerty afro, gamer75 to name a few that do english OMSI 1 and OMSI 2 gameplay...

Oo oke heb de prijs niet bekeken maar wil je wel geloven
michelritsema € 31.99 En dat is mij veel te veel...
I just about died when that kid just stood there, love the way you handled it. :)
You hit the curb at the start!
Try a bendy bus next!
I agree!
Yeah, bendy bus next :-D
I love the bendy bus - its so easy to drive it, easier then the one he is driving.
Malcolm Ness Granger bendy buses are skiw
If you press the light blue button on the IBIS, you should get voice announcements for the stops, and you can also press Q to cycle through stops without pressing the next stop button on the IBIS.
I like how he forgot to put the wheel back on but still love em pls revive this series
Never thought a Bus video would be good to watch Paul, but you do have a talent for making ordinary things look much better than they actually are. Thanks for posting.

Stephen Harris it Omsi 2
+Squirrel *Holy Shit!* @ 12:05 when you told that kid to "sit down scumbag",
I laughed so hard I woke up my wife 2 floors away!
LMFAO!!
I'm impressed how accurate the walltextures are. I life in Hamburg and the houses and most of the shops are exactly on the positions they are in reality. so if you come to hamburg you will know that part of town already :D
15:31 Horizontal is Stop Vertical is Go

Horizontal white line on the trafficlight for busses means RED (STOP)
The upright line means GREEN (Drive)
Btw.. busses like that are usally 4 meters high.. I know its tallest allowed in Denmark.. Squirrel
cool !
+Michael Hedegaard Jensen Yeah, I loved it that one of the passengers made a comment like "Where did you get your driver's license?"... lol
Love omsi 2. One thing @dasquirrel you don't need to flick the switch to acknowledge the stop. you apply the station brake and the passenger's open it themselves.
Am going to live this if this becomes a series! Great job Squirrel
Thanks squirrel its took me 3 weeks to learn how to play this
And now im a lot better at it
fantastic, you have made me want to retry the game again after failing to figure it out! will be nice to see a squirrel livery in the future!
Squirrel - This series is the stream i love the most, im just laughing my lungs out of yer lack of patience with the passengers and that, but i simply love yer passion for them and the game.

I actually live in Hamburg and everything is extremely accurate with all the logos and stops!
on 15:30 those White marks the Vertikular means Stop/no entry and the Horisontal means drive.
Sounds like the clutch is always on. That whistling sound isn't supposed to be there and it is because of the clutch I think.
Really liking how this looks and feels
Amazing kept it together under the circumstances
Thank you for the link! Helped a ton, fantastic video as always
"Some people really don't appreciate watching you learn how to do something, it seems. They expect you to be an instant expert."

The stream was awsome :)
GustavLjungberg Yeah it was. But you remember the people who were complaining about the time Paul trying to figure the game out? This quote is from Paul himself, about a year ago.
First impressions make this game sound insanely boring, but it's instead incredibly fascinating to even watch you play it.

He drove one on his live stream on Twitch. ;)
Yeah, but I'm talking about youtube...
Its Jake The Brake the Berlin route are are X10 and 625
I think they complained because the bus traffic light was still STOP (the horizontal bars); in Germany you have to follow them if they are present.
12:06 Kid: I want to be a bus driver one day.
Seeing how late he was just from a small detour and getting disoriented shows how buses in real life run like clock work
I did enjoy it and want to see more of this. It's action packed all the way.
"Delay" is displayed on the top left of the screen in the secon row. You can see there, wheter you're early or late on the schedule.
'sit down scumbag!' I almost spit my coffee out over the screen! Lol, nice one Paul!
Terrific videos Squirrel.( As always.) Wasn't quite able to explain to Mrs Badger, why it was I was happy sitting for the last couple of hours watching you drive a bus! :)

Best OMSI Commercial!
"Where did you get 10 marks from kid...you been robbing people or something?" Haha.
Funny and informative. Nice one squirrel.
squirrel... the traffic lights with the stripes... are the trafficlights for the bus. the top - is red, below - is yellow/orange and the | is green
Nice one Paul (AKA Squirrel) got to love all the errors of the game lol
The white dash traffic lights are extra for buses to make them independent from normal traffic. Thats why passengerns were unhappy about your driving at beginning :)
Yes squirrel enjoyed it alot and definitely should do more
That was fun Paul, play this all the time. I have the same issue with DX9 out of memory, i just have to restart the game and it allows you to continue were you left off. Its a good game and yes would love to see more videos one day, thanks for the fun.
Well I'll suggest a bendy bus next. Sounds like a fun adventure :)
A piece of advice Squirrel: You don't have to flick the switch when someone wants to get off.
Squirrel you don't have to flip the switch the rear doors open automatically when the button is pushed and you activate the Station Break and it closes automatically once all of the passengers that wanted off get off are off
Great videos man, funny aswell, keep them coming!
great video... thanks for sharing... I just purchased this game and was having trouble setting up my timetables and start point.... so this did help me out! thanks
Well done for your first OMSI 2 video
finally the second part. jesus...i love this game. nice job............like
Definitely do more. I loved this.
Squirrel, great video, but you don't need to set the buggy switch, on some buses (all of the buses in game) the back doors will automatically open when you set the station brake. Also you should map the station announcements to a button so that you can do it easier.
The noise is actually you driving on the cobblestone, not the bus falling apart.
When you did the horn at the end... I laughed hard for some reason XD
