Lps are definitely getting harder to find irl, I used to buy lps from craigslist a couple years ago but I haven't seen any listed there for quite a while. In 2019(?) I actually found lps at a vintage toy store, kind of similar to what you found, but the store closed down like a year later :(. This might just be me but I'm also having a harder time finding good lps lots on ebay that aren't super pricey.
It's always a nice surprise coming across LPS at stores like that. And yeah I hadn't been on ebay in a while so when I was getting screenshots for this video I was pretty surprised at what some of the prices are at now
The last time I found LPS in stores in the UK was actually today!😂 The store Game here had the fortune cookies, the lucky pets multipacks, and some of the flower tube and winter pets! I’ve also found LPS at a couple of carboot sales here! I’m curious to see what basic fun will do with the license in 2024!
Yeah, I found some pets in Game, but I also found some in TK Maxx. I do go to charity shops every now & then, but to no avail. I’m thinking of going to car boot sales but I have no idea how to find them! How should I? 😭
I LOVE the professional feel of this video, and the concept is so fun even if you really can’t find lps anywhere anymore LMAO it’s nice to see lps videos like this again 🙏
LOVED the idea of this video and your style of production!!💕 Huge congrats on the frickin' amazing finds👏 Makes me sad more collectable stores aren't like this one, most don't see the value in 'vintage' (hate using that word for LPS makes me feel like I'm 100💀) 'girls' (also hate gendering literal plastic toys but y'know) toys... most collectable stores only focus on the 'boy/male' centric collectable toys and make it seem like 'girls' items aren't valuable :///
man you took me on a nostalgia trip.. i remember having a HUGE bucket/box of LPS, like around 800 when i was little, now i've only got a semi-full shoebox of all the ones i could find.. might look around online or dig further in my rooms to see if i can find any!
There is a vintage toy shop in the mall close to where I live and the shop manager put out a bunch of older LPS and my sister and I have a whole nostalgia trip, counting every one we have, because we both still have every one our parents ever bought for us. My grandma even sent away for the special edition safari ones and even a few exclusive pets. My first one was one of the first edition boxer dogs that I ordered from a catalog when they first were hitting the shelves. LPS was one of the biggest portions of my childhood.
incredibly well made video! I've spent a lot of time searching for LPS in thrift and you're right, I think i've only ever seen actual pets like... once?? I definitely would love to try searching again soon though I don't think my area has a collection store like this ^ haha keep the LPS in the fridge for maximum freshness of course :))
thanks so much! Yeah most of the time I usually don't have much luck thrifting for some reason haha. And yes gotta keep them frozen for peak LPS freshness lol
Last time I saw lps in stores was maybe a year ago, I went to good will and saw lps in the board game section, when I saw the box I was practically praying for lps to be in the box. Fortunately there was! I had two of them but a got the dachshund that was light brown and has green eyes with snow flakes in them.
Coming back to this video to say that it inspired me to go out on my own little adventure to see if I could find anything! I'm beyond excited for the new wave to release. I know there is no chance of them being in stores right now so I turned to local flea markets and consignment stores. I think I went to about 4 different locations and 3 of them did have LPS specific items. The flea market I went to had four LPSO plushies and a couple bags of LPS accessories. I ended up getting a bag since I lost all mine from my childhood. The following consignment store had the big blue fold up house but it was in rough shape. My last visit yielded the best results, its another massive fleamarket and one stall had retro toys. Most of them were Star Wars figures but after some digging I found two authentic G1 pets (238 + 240) I never had before. Persian cats happen to be one of my fav molds. They're in perfect condition and happily added them to my collection, I haven't seen them anywhere else. :D
I heard they were in the making and that they were gonna come out in 2024, but I’m not so sure about them. I feel like they’re gonna be different but let’s hope they will comeback. I really want kids to experience these good ol toys.
From my experience: I live in a small town, there is probably only one flea market and a charity shop (I'm constantly trying to find alternatives, but almost never find) I always check the flea market when I have a chance, but I have never found lps there, among the toys there is only a small box with small toys, mostly with toys from Kinder Surprise, and part of the shelves is occupied by toys, most of which are more than 20 years old. I was in the charity shop only once, there were three baskets with toys, and I didn't find anything related to lps. Sometimes I also go to regular stores to check if there are lps there by chance, but there are always fakes, and most importantly - they are everywhere!!! They are in toy stores, grocery stores, clothing stores, it's sad, but at the same time it pleases me, because these stores most likely know how lps were once popular and in demand, and if new lps will come out in my country, they will most likely find out about it (I live in Russia and I remember exactly how lps were in grocery stores where, in theory, there should not be such toys at all, I even remember how lps were sold in a hardware store)
i may try this, going around to various thrift stores to try to find some pets. i actually found a little hamster at a comic book store once, completely random but whatever. also i love your chilled out and mellow vibe about everything!
maybe I've just had great luck, but within the past year I've actually been able to consistently find lps at two locations and on one occasion at a yard sale (i got the lps board game!). a surprise shop in one of my hometowns has a whole section dedicated to lps, and a flea market near where I live often has lps scattered randomly in different sections
I went to a small thrift store last weekend and I only found a MacDonald lps poorly painted with nail polish and a sticky thing on it that I don't wanna know what it was🤢
I love the idea of this video. For me I haven't seen Lps in years either. Not even in a single goodwill or thrift shop, hopefully when they come back next year they might be closer to the older pet design? Thanks for the awesome video!! ❤️👏
thanks! yeah same here, it's pretty rare for me to see LPS anywhere these days. I wonder what the new ones might look like, I'm looking forward to seeing them.
The only time I’ve found them was outlet and it was the mystery box set with the dice. I probably will have better luck at car boot sales but retail it’s only been outlets and it was the last of the 2020/2019 stock
I remember when I found old lps blythe dolls in Ross now that I think about it they probably had them because no one probably wanted to buy Blythe doll lps. Also this was like around 2013 so yeah of course Ross still had leftover stock . Also I was lucky enough to find lps polar bear and raccoon IN THEIR PACKAGE at goodwill so cool!
I always thought that i would never be able to buy lps from a store where i live as most stores i looked at did even know what i was talking about. And the ones that did remember what lps are, didn't have them anymore. But this week i was surprise that one small store did hold a few g2 (and some g3) lps! When I mentioned lps to the store's keeper, he told me he had some at the back storage room and even let me go there and pick the ones i wanted myself! So this week i can say, i really hit a jackpot! I was finally able to experience what it was like to open lps from the box! And a nice way to get ready for 2024 "^^ (sorry if it's too long. I just wanted to share my experience from this week "^^)
i've only had success with buying lps irl at a vintage toy store (they sold action figures, retro games, pokemon cards, etc. i ended up buying a two-pack nib for $25, which, yeah, is more expensive than i'd like.) and at a con that had a toy seller there (he was selling lps, plushies, pokemon figures, dolls, etc).
i used to go to thrift stores all the time a few years back and i usually always found atleast 1 older lps now i only seem to find newer ones if that i think the reason is prob because 1 they are just getting older and so less people will be donating them since if they were going to they prob already have and 2 resellers found out that some of them are worth some money and now they hunt the thrift stores for them to try and make a quick buck which i suppose is fine but its a little unfortunate that its not the people who actually collect or like them that are buying them but instead the resellers who overprice the pets on ebay ...
i found them at a local collectible shop! Haha I'm reluctant to say the actual name of the store online since it's by where I live lol but it's basically a secondhand store where they sell a bunch of random older things
I really wanna collect more lps because I still have many dream ones on my list the only place I have able to find them are some flee markets by my house and sometimes I get them for a good price and other times they sell them 5 each pet which sucks and for houses I found pretty well taken care of lps houses at goodwill and I snatched them before anyone could because I barely had any lps houses when I was younger. Today I try my best to find them and I’m happy to buy ones I don’t have:)
Idk were to buy because we have no thrift stores near me and everyone is selling what I want for like 200$ I just want a lot for 50$ bc that's all the money I have 😢
Now you have to buy them online Walmart does still sell them online and the price is cost a lot to get them it really sucks but you got save up money I wish they sell them in stores it's easier to get it in stores I wish LPS got sold in store soon
it's a local store so idk if I should say the name online since it's near where I live otherwise i would lol but it was basically a secondhand collectible shop where they sell older toys and games and things like that

I haven’t seen LPS in about a year I wish they were around more!
I see them a lot in thrift stores now

Love this video, very great job with the editing! Haven’t seen LPS in any stores near me since early 2020. Hoping to seem em one day again though!
thank you! Yeah it would be nice to see them more often
The place I’ve found LPS at most recently was Below Five. It was a couple summers ago and they had the luckiest pets blind bags
Nice. I only went to one of them for the video, but maybe I'll have to try my luck (ha..) again.

Dollarama, which is a popular Canadian dollar store, sometimes has legit lps, usually blind bags, along with really bad fake lps.
