I enjoyed seeing your solutions to storing things! When we sold our house to move off-grid we sold everything that couldn't fit into our RV! (Aside from farming equipment which would of course go into our barn). We didnt want to pay for a storage unit for stuff that we really didnt need...things that were rarely used and didnt hold much importance to us. We got rid of tons and it actually felt good! Once we finish building our A-Frame house I plan on maintaining this minimalistic lifestyle. You dont always realize how little you need until you let it all go!

We had to live in our RV for a year after a flood destroyed our house, I was perfectly happy in the RV and I had very little stuff. How is RV living going for you? Hubby and I have your channel on notification and we watch all of them as soon as they come out. It's making me want an A-Frame on our vacation property in Colorado which we will be moving to when hubby retires.

ONe of my problems with crafting is I keep finding things I want to learn and make. I finally had to tell myself to stick to one thing and not start a new craft. I crochet and someday I would like to learn to spin. Someday. Love your videos, thanks so much for making them.

Oh dear I hold onto stuff for years, I live in a smallish Townhouse but not nearly as small as yours and I really need to clean out as I can almost open a fabric store lol. I made mascots for years and in my garage in the rafters stored all the left overs in case of remakes to match fabric/colour, especially polar fleece. Last year I took them all down, cut into squares and have pinned strips of colourful squares to make into blankets for my 2 grown children. Those squares you fill up with scraps of batting before you sew them closed so they look like little puff balls. So at least they are being re-purposed. But still a long way to go to minimalism (I doubt I will ever get there) A good idea that Ninja Turtles passed on, is she asked her children to put her stash of wool into project sized amounts into bags and she opens one every month as a surprise to decide what to do with the contents :-D. I am an experienced knitter but do not make time to knit much so some of my wool is over 25 years old lol but I do not have as much wool hoarded as fabric. I do however make all my own clothes and when funds are low, it's nice to dive into the stash. I however, from time to time look at stash critically and ask myself if I will ever use it and then pass along for someone else who is financially strapped, to use and enjoy

it can be a curse & overwhelming when we’re into so many hobbies! but its so true that it helps to try to keep it down to the ones we truly love..for me i guess right now its watercololors & leather earrings lol
    thanks for the fun inspiration!

Another thing I am figuring out is, tiny living is hard for a crafter/artist, especially when you have to share the space with pets.

LOL. I buy that stuff in thrift stores too. I actually use a lot of those rikrac (sp?) trims and lace on my skirts. I love having a little extra fluff to my dresses.

Having lived on a boat for 10+ years I learned to only keep what I use. Being a yarn lover made it hard on me to not go overboard with it. I had a small hammock sling over side of the bed and kept my yard organized and out of the way. I did learn restraint in not buying additional yard until I finished what project I worked on and used extra yarns to make granny squares and turn those into sweaters or afghans.

Just be careful. I got rid of a bunch of crafting stuff and there was one thing I gave away that I need for a project I want to do. Now I need to buy it again. 🙄😄

It's so hard for me to get rid of things that I tell myself I'll use one day. Are your daughters interested in spinning? Maybe you need 2 so you can do it together?

Thank you for motivating me to get a move on getting rid of “stuff”. Don’t live in a tiny space, but I know that our clutter has a negative impact on us. Emotion can be a big stumbling block to downsizing, I go thru stuff regularly and what didn’t make the cut last time might this time....just try to be mindful.

It is hard to see sometimes where we have things that need to get out of our lives. They are usually in our case behind all the things that we do use.

These are the videos I took just before leaving for Tulsa. I needed to use them before I get on to what is happening here. One more to go and then on to Tulsa apartment homesteading!

could always donate to a fashion school..? my twin sis went to F.I.T. in NYC for college she studied photography tho. i wish i could take a class on how to use a sewing machine. grew up with one of those that was inside a desk.

Such a good idea! I always donate to a thrift store and hope that the materials go to a good home. Most of mine were free since I pick things up when people don't want them anymore.
