- Movie World Gold Coast Update! Warner Bros. Movie World is a Theme Park on the Gold Coast in QLD, Australia! Join us for Updates on the NEW MOVIE WORLD RIDES - Flash, Wizard of Oz, the new Arcade and much MORE!
Flash Speed Force's construction walls have gone down! Looks like Movie World's New Roller Coaster ride could be opening any day now. We also check out an awesome new trailer for the Wizard of Oz land, which is due to open late 2024! We then check out some other updates in Movie World, such as construction on the new Arcade, some exciting changes to Superman's Escape queue, the Movie World parade and much more!
Wizard of Oz is Movie World's new land, opening late 2024. It will have a lot of theming, and two new Roller Coasters: Flight of the Wicked Witch, and Kansas Twister! One is a Vekoma suspended family coaster, while the other is a Vekoma Dueling Family Coaster.

At this rate, it’s clear that rides closed for two months for “annual maintenance”, well it’s not for maintenance but to cut costs. What could possibly take an entire two months out of EVERY YEAR to repair? One functional adult flat ride and I guess that’s due for it’s annual two month siesta. Seriously - this is why I didn’t renew my pass. Copy paste for SeaWorld.
This is why you never let a private equity firm buy anything.
While annual maintenance is needed, I think you're on to something there - a large chunk of the allotted time is likely to save on operational costs rather than the actual maintenance itself.
Hopefully they have good reasons for Superman / DD / Marvin / etc being closed other than to appease BGH
Yeah they close it down for scheduled maintenance for months only to then go on unscheduled maintenance for ages
@@Randomperson-cv4oo and additional unscheduled maintenance outside each set of school holidays. Have you noticed that? As soon as the kids are back at school, the rides are down.
Maybe you’d rather go to Dreamworld instead of VRTP parks and literally die on the rides
@@RachelXKnight666 Dreamworld has completely rebuilt its engineering and safety teams, training and procedures since that accident. Their rides are also closed for annual maintenance but you actually see maintenance happening. Movie World and Sea World close their rides for two months a year minimum AND often for weeks at a time between school holidays and the rides just sit there with no maintenance happening and just to reduce costs. And VRTP maintenance has been terrible since the private equity firm acquired the properties. Perhaps you’d like to try your luck on a Sea World helicopter.
0:54 Hope you can ride it... should be a good little addition to the park. They did a great WoZ promo hats off to VRTP for that! Not sure if I like how the zero car looks on each of the trains but very detailed, also good to see that the 2 trains will be different colours, certainly a nice touch. 6:14 looks like they took out another wall, I wonder how big the finished building will be, still disappointed they weren't able to squeeze another flat ride into that space. Great update as usual!
Thank you! I think I could ride Flash (was fine on RC back at Hong Kong Disney, which is also a Surfrider) but the problem with Flash is the spinning seats. I'll probably be able to ride it later in the year hopefully
I don't mind the zero car, but yeah it doesn't exactly scream "Wizard of Oz". I bet nobody expected Arkham would be replaced by a ride with dueling Tractors 😜
Yeah, the arcade site does look bigger now! Still disappointing that it's not a new ride, but hopefully it's nicely presented

I honestly feel with the addition of flash that lockers acctually make sense for Superman. You don’t want to have some idiot forget to put is phone or keys in a ride bin and it get flung off into someone down near flash. I wonder how they will maintain the safety of guests now that flash will open and there will be people down there.
Yeah, it could be dangerous if the planets align and something like that happens. I think it should be fine, as I'm sure they did clearance checks, and will probably try to highlight the importance of putting items away in the station bins. The staff are quite thorough on reminding people about it on Leviathan now for example

They really like showing off that emerald city in the trailers, without telling whats inside. Probably won't be too significant
You can see what's inside at 03:08 - looks like it's going a themed room with the Wizard himself on a screen. The room also has the entrances to both coasters

@@ThemeParkOgrewe had one. Then it was sold to a Malaysian theme park company that deliberately ran it into the ground and took the rides back to their theme parks in Malaysia

@@ThemeParkOgre I lived ten minutes from wonderland as a kid and we had annual passes. We used to go at least once a fortnight. Still can’t believe it’s just gone

I think they'll be shortened versions of the longer one they recently released
I went there last week on a school excursion. And as someone who hadnt previously been to a themepark in over ten years, it was a bit of a disapointment with all the ride closures, and bad timing with the scooby. Doo and oz opening later on. Ill probably not have money to go there again anytime soon but hopefully someday when everything is actually open.
That's a shame! Yeah, the park isn't really in a great spot right now. I hope you get to visit again in the future - it's usually much better

I spoke to staff member at the park on Thursday and she said the reason Superman is closed is because they are moving lots of stuff around for the wizard of oz rides and it’s a safety issue
They’re also moving the lockers to the end of the queue
Interesting! I wonder if it's true or not, as the Oz stuff isn't really close to Superman's footprint

Why do the costumes look so cheap and nasty. Seriously, they are WB FFS, get some quality costumes.
