- Here's a rarely shown cartoon short from the Oh Yeah! Cartoons Frederator anthology series, originally shown on Nickelodeon. It was produced and directed by the amazing and talented Emmy-award-winning Byron Vaughns.
Blotto is our hero, in an out-of-the-inkwell sort of way, albeit from a dripping brush. He sings the praises of his animated "Ink World" to a driving jazz music beat, but his main girl, the lady in red, repeats her disdainful "Ink Stinks" vocals right in his fish-eyed face.
The comic book bad guy, a goon with a perpetual word balloon nailed to his head, ponderously belts out his plans while his balloons fill with words and pictures, rebus-style. No Spoilers. You've just got to stick around for the surprise ending!

So if this got picked up, was this going to be a show about a cartoon character becoming a comic book star while also trying to win back his ex? Because if so, that sounds pretty unique.
That’s the singing voice of Wayne Brady as Blotto. His recent role in the animated world is King Dice in The CupHead Show.
I think Blotto is better off with the red ink blot. If she hates his ink world so much, then she should leave. I'm pretty sure there are other prettier colors of ink girl's for my boy Blotto.
I think Nickelodeon should bring back Oh Yeah Cartoons and have everyone outside of Nickelodeon create their own short animation for FUN!
I absolutely love this cartoon. As I viewed it I saw so many ways that it could become a success on a cartoon networks.The characters are colorful and can hold the attention of adults as well as children. It carries a message that can serve as a learning tool, developing morals and promoting individuality. As a gamer, I find it has the attraction to be developed into video games in the right environment (Zynga or King). Kudos to Byron Vaughns.

Wow, those are some next level lyrics.
Nice visuals, and the way it plays with the ink/comic media is brilliant, but the forced singing with repetitive and poorly-written lyrics totally killed it. Silence is golden, indeed. The whole plot, such as it is, winds up being painfully forced; show rather than tell, and work on making your telling more natural.
Fun fact: Wayne Brady voices Blotto.

Wayne Brady's singing voice is honestly the best thing about this. It starts to go downhill plot-wise the second he stops singing, they give him a goal no one could possibly want to see him succeed at, and the whole disaster ends on the stupidest note ever. Even as a kid, I remember wishing it would just have stuck with Blotto and Red Girl singing back and forth while prancing through their beautifully animated ink world.

I remember this cartoon. I saw it once and thought it lasted way too long. That's the power of music for you.

Taking romance between the male and female lead out of the equation, this short actually encapsulates the olden days of animation with a classic Love Triangle story.

So far I've found 2 obscure nickelodeon cartoons starring Wayne Brady; this and the Electric Piper.
This cartoon was really good and its songs are kind of catchy.
