2021 Hangover Hare Scramble - SXCS Sprint Cross Country Series

My first ever race - entered the SXCS 2021 Hangover Hare Scramble. I raced open C class and finished - wait for it - LAST. I will say though I stopped a couple times to help people get un-stuck (probably still would have ended up last anyway). The course was an absolute mud-bath. I camped there the night before and listened to a torrential down pour around midnight - and a couple more times after that. That whole thing they say about the bike getting heavier with mud is definitely true. I think my bike gained at least 25 pounds (maybe exaggerating). Overall it was a great time, people were super friendly and the course was really diverse - had some tight woods stuff and a few sections where it opened up a bit. A lot of mud, puddles and what was.. quick sand mud stuff? Going to keep at it and try and make the next race in the series. Definitely need to work on cardio and forearm strength.
