As I was hiking through the mountain side of Ecuador, a sweet woman had invited me into her home. At first, I thought she must have thought I was someone else, so politely declined. This time I decided to go over and really see how they live. When I got to the door, they invited me in and offered me a banana and coffee as if I've been there a 100 times. I asked if I could spend 24 hours with them, they politely said yes and doing so, showed me God.

Last week I sat on the floor of my kitchen with my fridge and cabinets open, in disbelief with the amount of food I normally take for granted.

The kindness in this family's heart is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. They've had to fight every minute of every day they have been on this earth, just to survive. And they have not allowed these circumstances to turn them bitter. No one could blame them at all for keeping the little they have for themselves. But them to go a million miles further than any one would imagine possible. Not only giving a piece of the little they do have, but they give freely what they don't have. The love and gratitude this family has kept in their hearts is a testament to the human spirit. I don't know that I've ever seen anything as beautiful and pure as the spirit they have, and the love they put out into the world. I've never seen a family more deserving of every good thing that anyone could hope for. If we could live with just a tiny portion of her love in our lives the world would be a very different place my friends.

I can’t stop crying... has brought memories when my brother, sister and I would go days without eating in Nicaragua, always barefoot and watching my grandma cry daily because she wasn’t able to feed us. Your videos hit me hard, reminded me when I lived in extreme poverty but here I am now in the US I mainly donate to kids in Africa, I have two families who I help monthly. This really got to me because i have a disabled child that needs me 24/7 so i cant work, & im disabled myself so i cant even make any money on the side by selling things or babysitting, because i my autistic children take 100% of what i have to give & even that is NOWHERE near enough😢

One of the most important things is for the children to go to school .even in canada we have school breakfast programs many families cannot give 3 meals a day also in jamaica the lack of food is very high and there is large need for school programs to help them with school uniforms and supplies many without electricity still fridges or stoves also

I’m going on 5 years in South America and I’d still call it this situation beautiful. It’s not beautiful the fast that there is little food or no money but the love they have for each other. Her sacrifice to take care of her parents. That is incredibly beautiful.
