    Very thorough and helpful. I thought at first that you had an add-on kickstand on your Brompton but then realised that your "kickstand" is "parked" in Brompton-speak.
    When you "do" the advance roller rack it would be helpful if you would cover why this can't be fitted to other than the P and Ts

      Thanks for the comment and input. I've always referred to it as kickstand mode but yes I think parked is the more used correct term. Will make sure to cover that in my next video.

    appreciate the in depth video on this bag, especially the folding options. I’ve wondered about it for a while for tours… mainly because it matches my borough bag on the front. But like you say, it’s not really been covered much on the Internet. For daily commutes, the bags on the front would still be my go to option, but for extra capacity touring, etc, this looks interesting.

    • @TheBromptonGuy
      @TheBromptonGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What makes you prefer the front bag to the rear? I've only ever used rears and just personally hate the look of the front bag but interested to know why it's a go to? Should really give one a shot and prob will when I do a couple of touring videos.

      @@TheBromptonGuy I think the main thing is the convenience of adding/removing them so easily and being able to use the kickstand mode still. I have 4 bags for different uses now. The Brompton already has a "strange" look compared to regular bikes so it feels fine for me putting the bag on the front. There are some other advantages too, like the borough/T bag which has accessible pockets, e.g. for a drinks bottle or to connect a spare battery for the phone on long rides. If you do some touring videos (would be cool) then I'd definitely have a look at the borough/T bag for the front.

      @HolgerNestmann 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dermyan42 Yup agreed. I am one to seldomly take it off. The look might not be for everyone, but front bags are so convenient. I just fold my bike, cart it into the office and pull my laptop out of the bag. Thats called shopping cart mode and even for the name giving purpose it‘s super cool.
      Makes me even wonder more, why brompton didnt take a bit of time to design the rack bag right. This one has 3 attachment points, where the front has 1. It‘s their rack too, so they could include a little do-hickie for a super specialized bag to go on and off easily

    • @dermyan42
      @dermyan42 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HolgerNestmanngood point. Surely would’ve been possible by now to add some clip on point on the rack and design the bag specifically… Still, the way TheBromptonMan shows the bag in this video makes it a much more viable option for me. Never thought to hang it off the saddle.

      @@dermyan42 same here. Also leaving it attached on the seatpost is smarr

  • @HolgerNestmann
    @HolgerNestmann 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Thanks for the video, showing how to use it makes the bag less awkward. Still I think Vincita has the better designed rack bags, you wont be able to swing it around like you showed, but you can more easily add and remove the bag
    If you are a fan of swinging around, I have a good impression of eerder metaal seatpost hugger. Allows one to use front bags above the back wheel. Hopefully I can do a multi day trip in march to really test it out.
    And I love your bike, its so pretty

    • @TheBromptonGuy
      @TheBromptonGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I honestly think brompton made this bag just because they kind of had to. I like the fact I can fold the bike without removing the bag completely, almost feels like part of the design now and just part of my normally folding routine now. I'm in love with me P Line!! It truly is a beautiful bike just wish it wasn't so expensive. Thanks for watching

    Thank you for making such a comprehensive review, as you say there isn't much on these bags. I have owned mine for six years and used it perhaps six times because it stops you simply parking the Brompton especially if you have disengaged the rear triangle lock so the wheel swings underneath the moment you lift the saddle. However the benefit of the bag is that it fits the overall width of the Brompton and in particular this means you avoid heel strikes compared with some other options. It is worth noting that Miriam Kennedy uses this bag when touring - good for her - me, I use a rucksack. Overall I am glad I own one, it appeals to the collector in me. Cheers

      Thank you for the comment and glad you enjoyed the review. Also yeah solid point about how well it fits the overall width that avoids heel strikes. I have a uk 10 or eu45 cycling shoe and I just clear it (sometimes hits it but very minor)

    Excellent explanation, very clear and detailed. I'm glad to have your video today, after purchasing the "Brompton Rack Bag" (previous model), regarding the model you mention and currently sold, the "Borough Roller Rack Bag".
    Could you create a video with the two models, pointing out, according to your vision, criteria, the advantages and disadvantages of both models?
    A few days ago I bought the "Brompton Rack Bag", which in my opinion is better than the new model:
    (1) Greater cargo volume capacity, 16 Kgs. versus 14 Kgs.
    (2) Black color, which fits with my other Vincita bags, black in color and side reflective tape, which together, are supposed to be from the same design and manufacturing line.
    (3) It has a pocket on the front to carry objects during "Bikepacking".
    (4) Current retail value in my country is 73 pounds (93 US dollars).
    It is understood that the new model is better suited for the Brompton P-Line. In my case, I have a C-Line Explore, the old bag fits better.

    • @TheBromptonGuy
      @TheBromptonGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will see if I can source one yes but yeah the rack bag is longer and doesn't fit the P line rack. I also don't own a brompton with an older style rack however if I can get the rack bag will try and do a video my friend. Thanks for watching

    • @macola1970

      Hi..@@TheBromptonGuy
      Thanks for your answer. I understand that the "Brompton Rack Bag" (previous model) applies to the C-Line Explore model and the "Borough Roller Rack Bag" applies to the P-Line model.
      I read a comment below, from someone else. He comments that the Vincita bags are better. My comments on this:
      (1) You can buy from Vincita, an excellent company that has been manufacturing high quality products for years, and some fit very well on Brompton bikes, such as the "Big Voyage Frame Bag", the "Voyage Stem Bag", the " Boomerang Bag", the "Handlebar Bag Tourguide", the "V-Rack Seat Post Carrier" and the "Reflective Triangle with Led", which I bought and installed on my Brompton. Excellent products and very satisfied to this day.
      (2) Regarding purchasing the "Big Nash Rack Bag" or the "Nash Rack Bag", both have a good design, but they only work for Brompton bikes that have the rear rack installed. In my case, I bought a Brompton without a rack and I prefer not to install that accessory.
      (3) I bought the "Brompton Rack Bag" (previous model) a few days ago, and it has been a great help, very satisfied. On my Brompton I have the "V-Rack" installed, which is an accessory that combines very well with the "Brompton Rack Bag", the bag adjustments have elastic bands that hook from the "Eazy Wheel" to the "Fender Wheel Stay". ", under the bag itself. The bag adjustment strap hooks into the "Fender Wheel Stay", with the hooks of the elastic bands. The "Brompton Rack Bag" remains firm and secure. Ideal for transporting cargo volume , not to carry heavy weight. The "Brompton Rack Bag" is supported on the rear fender and hung from the "V-Rack", and the stored weight is distributed smoothly, without causing damage.
      You should always consider that Brompton accessories/components/bags have a weight limit when transporting personal items/objects. If you know those limits, if you are careful, you can do anything, free to your imagination, to innovate. In my case, both accessories are an excellent solution for “Bikepacking”.

    The Vincita Nash bag for the Brompton is much better, comparing both side by side would of given a more concise overview than just looking at one bag , of course i could be wrong, there’s a slim chance I could be right.

      @curiouspenguin6887 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, if you're going to hang it from the saddle, you might as well use the Vincita Nova saddle bag. It's really nice and doesn't interfere with the fold.

    • @TheBromptonGuy
      @TheBromptonGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate hope you're well! I've never seen the Vincita Nova saddle bag but seems pretty different from this bag and has way over less than half the storage space. I use a saddle bag from a company called Alpkit and use it for bigger adventures. My issues with bigger saddle bags is climbing hills out the saddle with them but from a cost point the Vincita Nova looks like a great choice.

    • @TheBromptonGuy
      @TheBromptonGuy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I only hang it from the saddle to save time folding. Would the Vincita Nova bag not affect lowering the seat post? now sure if it clears the tube stay.

    • @curiouspenguin6887
      @curiouspenguin6887 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheBromptonGuy You just undo the 2 velcro straps around the seatpost and leave the attachment at the rear of the saddle in place if you need the seatpost down. Quick and easy. I love it, and other riders keep asking me where I got it, so I guess it passes the esthetic test. 😃
