Praise the Lord. In many sermons U mentioned the two tables of stones kept in the Ark was written by Moses. But Deuteronomy 10:1-4 says the Lord wrote them. Who is right?
A very important question. Well, the Decalogue (10 Commandments) was written twice. First, God Himself wrote and gave to Moses who brought it down and, upon seeing the apostasy of the people, thrashed it onto the Opus statue in Exodus 32. Then God summoned Moses back to the summit Horeb and "wrote it again" right? Now, who wrote it? It was Moses who wrote it but as dictated by God. That was the second set of stones and it is equally correct to say God wrote it and/or Moses wrote it as although Moses wrote it physically it was absolutely as God stipulated. In Deuteronomy 9:10 Moses confirms that God wrote it but later Moses destroyed (Deut. 10:17). It is clear that Moses was talking about the first 2 tablets. In the next chapter Moses says that God wrote on the second set the same things He wrote on the first. But Moses does not use the word 'Finger". Why? Because although it was God who wrote it, God used Moses to write it. Evidence is in Exodus 34:27 where God commands Moses to "write thou these words". I hope I have cleared your doubt. @@suresh-ramachandran exodus 34:1 the Lord says I will write. Moses could not have written or engraved upon the tables of stone without proper instruments. Of course Moses wrote 613 other laws. Deuteronomy 10:1-4 is very clear it was the Lord who wrote on the Tables of stone and gave it to Moses.
Exodus 34:1 Lord said I will write. So Exodus 34:28 should read.....Moses was with the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights .........And HE (THE LORD) WROTE UPON THE TABLES.... ...... This will agree with Deuteronomy 10:1-4 which says the Lord wrote and gave it to Moses.
So which is correct ? Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant--the Ten Commandments. (NIV)
