Honestly "better than their last game" is actually something I love to hear nowadays. A newcomer developer learning and figuring out some stuff with their first couple games is better news than formally great developers making worse and worse games, which is something that kind of keeps happening.

Problem with kickstarter and patreon devs is that they sometimes become content with the money they are being given. There are crowdfunded devs who have been doing amazing though.
I always feel the need to defend Agony as they did NOT give up on that game and worked tirelessly to fix it and make it better. Whether or not you thought they succeeded in actually making it better, you have to respect the fact they legitimately tried to do right by their customers and I'm glad to see they're still improving as a studio.
Succubus's hell actually makes way more sense than Doom's hell. Like God forbid creatures are having sex in a place called HELL and moreover the different species in Sucubus's hell actually fight amongst each either just to survive or to be the top dog in hell whereas all of the different species in Doom's hell are united as one to fight against Doom guy. It's just so fckn dumb!

Also to be fair. They put free demo(prologue) on steam. So say whatever you want but at least they are honest. I dont even remember when was the last time i saw the free demo . Yeah yeah someone could say that with refunds, demo become useless, but personally i would rather have demos and no refund policy.

This game has immense "I did it for the trophy" energy. Also I find it hilarious the Succubus is voiced by Mileena's voice actress, because this game is basically what Mileena would be doing in Hell.
Legitimately though, as a company they are making a lot of strides, I have a feeling these guys are going to come out with some decent stuff later down the line.
Yeah, plus with agony unrated which is the version that fixes all the bugs and includes cut content from the original makes it seem like the devs really put love into their work ( the original agony got fucked over by the publishers) in my opinion they just need to twick gameplay and diologue a bit

I am going to buy and play this for three reasons: 1). Because it seems mildly fun, if outdated in a lot of design. 2). Because we really need devs pushing some of that Edge, in a world where Kratos now kills enemies filled with glowing pumpkin juice. 3). Because the art-style seems to be f*cking amazing, and as an artist, I am all down for that.

And also Dante's Inferno which was a f*cking amazing game as well. Currently 5 hours into Succubus and I'm having a blast, I know the game isn't perfect but there's just something extremely fun about mowing down hundreds of minions from hell 😅
I love how in our culture we can show various scenes of brutal maiming and decapitation, people burning in lava pits and generally scenes of torture and such, but we have to censor breasts and genitalia. Silly, isn't it? And also showing those in a game is edgy, but said scenes of brutal deaths can be tasteful (in Doom for example, as the author said).

The most redeeming quality I can see for this game is that the protagonist is voiced by Karen Strassman, who voiced Kitana and Mileena in Mortal Kombat 9 and X
thx for being so specific, I played centuries ago a version of MK where most characters said no much more than grunts so evidently I was wowed by the nerds above speaking as if everyone should know who voiced Milleena or to be condemned to boomerism.
I love the fact you can take succubus selfies in the fuckin kitchen of your hell apartment. This game fucking rules. The time and effort the devs put into dressing up this game has made it almost worth it for all the vestigial mechanics. It's like a cake that's mostly just icing.
Well, I can't say that I can defend the gameplay part of the game (especially selfies and dialogues), which wasn't bad, but wasn't spectacular either. What I completely can't agree with you here though is attacking the "taste" of this game as a bad thing. I mean, you said it yourself that it's cool to see different interpretations of Hell. Here, we have a chance to see the "uncensored" version of Hell, a place where you REALLY wouldn't want to wind up after death. The only title that even came close to it was Dante's Inferno. Seriously, after decades of "nice and cozy" Hell, a lot of people would want to see something closer to the Abyss from DnD or the Warp from Warhammer, where chaos, murder-porn and suffering mixed with dark pleasures are just a part of everyday life. You are supposed to be uncomfortable with it in the same way you are NOT supposed to like the protagonist. Really dude, you are playing a succubus - one of the more fucked up demons on the scale. In any serious setting (DnD, Pathfinder, WH and other big settings), succubi/incubi are the kind of demons that engage in cannibalism, infanticide and all manner of perverse fetishes, while being aroused by them all the time. If you want some video-game examples, check out Arushalae from the newest Pathfinder (when corrupted and met again - she is described to wave at you with a gnawed hand of a baby). Is it a weird choice for a protagonist? Given a setting, I would say no. It would be rather weird to see a human being able to fend off demons all the time without some techno/mystical/arcane help (Doom/Hellgate/Diablo) but this theme was done countless times already and it's nice to see something new for a change - who never wanted to become a demon/play on the evil side?
Totally agree with you. I got agony for 2$ and after all the updates and i really enjoyed it for its environment. They didnt hold any punches. theres one npc in agony that was mopping the floor with a bloody, screaming baby. yes its over the top but is that not what hell is? I would want to be doomguy in hell, but i would not want to visit agony's hell. and thats the point.
Yeah I found that argument kinda bad as well. This exact same argument was used by people back in the days when Doom was released, especially in Germany. They found Doom to be very abhorrent and distasteful and even harmful for people - and that mainly because it went against THEIR values (old people who didn't know much about computers, games and so on). I really didn't think that such an argument would appear in such a channel (Considering the type of games he reviews). You could definitely say that you don't like it personally but calling it bad taste in general is just, well, dishonest (Considering he liked some of the other visual things like the burning, tortured people for example).

It's one of those games that's meant to be played aggressively and offensively. You are supposed to be an angry Succubus, bent on revenge, so she's not going to worry about blocking, she's about attacking and killing everything in front of her.
Also it's important to note that you're mostly gonna be fighting huge mobs of enemies that will surround you which makes blocking make even less sense.
Worst game but perhaps the greatest love scene music in any piece of entertainment, ever. Bernard Hermann wishes he could've composed something like "Lay it Down" in his lifetime.
It is a niche game and the studio knows it audience. And yeah, it has problems and hopefully they will learn after these two games, but then again, they know what their audience is looking for on their games and they try to delivered. They actually hear out the criticism, the game change a lot things based on the feedback of the Alpha Build and the demo. I don't think they can change too much Succubus since some problems are bake on the game, but they should take these problems in consideration for their next game (Paranoid).
If they knew their audience they wouldn't have censored the shit out of agony. For some reason they thought a console release was more important than ratings.

If that's your standard for a barely functional game, then I don't know how you'd feel about Ride to Hell: Retribution or an asset flip.

Having been a Kickstarter for Agony, I can tell you that this is what we had hoped for but never received. PC owners are lucky that they can play what I paid for but never had delivered !
Gotta say… I was looking forward to this game. Honestly… I was just disappointed that it ended when it did… Then presently surprised they gave us a roadmap for more content. It’s not a perfect game…. but it’s fun for a $22 game. I enjoyed it. Completely forgot there was an underlying story halfway through though. Assumed it was just “Let’s a-go kill me a baphomet!” And went with it. But I can tell you for certain… The game doesn’t take itself seriously. The selfie thing is explained by the main character’s Twitter account
You didn't mention this is a budget release. I think 25 bucks/euros is worthwhile even with the jank. This dev team has good ideas and just need to find the gameplay magic (because I think the environments are really good). Stuff like this needs to be supported. Hopefully they knock it out of the park with their 3rd game.
$25 seems like a fair price actually. I might snag this on sale later in the year and amuse myself with blood and tiddies and cheesy one-liners for a couple hours 🤷♂️
i remember watching the beginning stages in the creation of this game, loved it, the devs were vibing and having fun while being serious and explaining future plans/ overall goal in creating the game
The only thing I liked about Agony was the interesting imagining of hell. So I'm actually enjoying this game as the gameplay is less awful than agony and there's more hellish scenery to look at. Oh and in token minimal defence of the selfie-cam it's partially a running joke. Iirc in one ending of Agony we saw her steal a mobile phone. And one of the early Succubus trailers was just her playing with the phone as the apocalypse was happening. And as a plus side it's also a way of doing a camera mode which doesn't also function as a way to cheese the game by scouting for enemies... Would prefer a traditional photo mode though given the only thing worth taking a screenshot of is the landscape, not the protagonist and her dreadful hair. Lol.
Imagine a third person game where you play historical world leaders with realistic graphics. An open world game where you can fight, use weapons, do quests and take over countries with an army.
There ackchyually was a game called Genghis Khan. Made by KOEI, it was a turn-based strategy game where you could conquer the Eurasia as Mongols (or Japanese, Arabs, Franks, whatever...). Think of a really primitive Crusader Kings.

I think the whole baby stomping, tits out version of hell isnt a bad design or a bad interpretation of hell. I like the idea of a bunch of petty demons that lack the intelligence or foresight to realize how dumb they sound and just go around killing because they are akin to dumb animals with little control over themselves. Doesnt make for an interesting MC or plot. I hope the Devs keep trying to stick to their niche and just improve on it.
It could if they actually did something with the fact that they aren't material beings and can't really "die". I believe you can take any concept and make a good story and characters if you have a good writer.

Agony and Succubus seem to be the work of macabre artists who have no idea how to actually make a game fun or interesting. Something I loved about Agony (the only thing I loved about it) was how genuinely horrifying and strange it could be, and I really liked the classical and gruesome depiction of Hell, as if it was a medieval mural of the pit in 4k. Literally everything else falls short by a country mile, and it's extremely disappointing to seem them continue to wallow in mediocrity.
It's not fair to criticise the game for its "bad taste", that's entirely subjective. Imo it was about time that some developer dared to make a truly brutal game without shying away from the controvertial topics. And yes, the game need polish in many aspects, but even with its flaws it still is pretty solid and offers a good amount of fun. And since this is a huge step up from the previous game I'll be supporting these devs.

Yeah, I played the Demo when it was released. It's an... Interesting game. Very eh when I played it though. Like DOOM but melee and no where near as good and a lot of nudity and messed up stuff, there's definitely something there though. They also have a few other games coming out if I remember, like The Tormentor, or something like that, where you kidnap people and livestream torturing them and stuff, don't think it's out though and looks really cheap. If you want a good game that's kind of messed up, try Lust from Beyond, it's a mix of Lovecraft and Giger, it's quite like Amnesia as well.
The lust series is a pretty good series definitely average but honestly I enjoyed all of them flaws and all lust for darkness lust from Beyond and Scarlett and prolouge

Didn't think you'd be the guy to get upset over dead baby jokes. For real though: as distasteful as the majority of this game is, I think a game set in a place like Hell should be barbaric, crude, and abhorrent to the point it disgusts people.
I mean I kind of agree, but at the same time disgusting on purpose is still disgusting. If the game wants to make me so uncomfortable as to want to stop playing it, I'm just gonna stop playing it.
Except it wasn't a joke. Dead baby jokes are great, but the protagonist is, in-narrative, actually killing babies, which is fine if the protagonist is an unrepentant, psychopathic monster, and we _are_ talking about a literal demon with a total lack of humanity here. The question is, what's the point? What is the protagonist getting out of it, and why does it matter that the audience knows what the protagonist is getting out of it? Even if it's something as simple as visceral satisfaction at hurting the innocent, there still needs to be a narrative reason as to _why_ we are being shown that side of the character. Why is it important that we, the audience, know this character derives enjoyment from hurting the innocent? There are a lot of good potential answers to that question, but in the case of this game, there is no good answer. This isn't part of some larger setup that will have a payoff later. This isn't a clue as to what kind of development the character is going to have in the future, because she doesn't develop, she doesn't have any kind of personal arc of growth or transformation. Honestly, having her start as 'just a monster,' only to find out that she has the potential to become an even bigger monster than even she imagined, would be a good way to go with a game and story like this, to the point where even her demon peers begin to fear her because she turns out to be a monster to other monsters. Like, finding out that even Hell has rules, as she becomes the ultimate taboo-breaker and violates even the rules of Hell, making her own demonic kin afraid of her, could have been cool. This could even be taken to the point where she starts disrupting the function of Hell itself, like, say Hell exists to punish the wicked, she starts taking over areas of Hell and doing things like commuting the sentences of the worst humanity has to offer, like mass murderers, _if_ they will murder in her name. Works even better if Hell exists to _purify_ souls so that even someone who was a monster in life has the chance at repentance, and she 'corrupts' that function of Hell by stealing away from them the mechanism by which even the worst can be saved and redeemed. This is where the sex could matter narratively as well, like tempting someone who wound up in Hell due to lasciviousness or s*x-related crimes. Works even better if that person has been being purified for hundreds of years, undergoing torment so they can be transformed into something better than what they were, only she steals that away at the last second through s*xual temptation. But instead we got the story and dialogue the game gave us.

If nothing else, I'm happy the devs are trying their best and aren't getting discouraged. To me it really seems like they have a passion and really want to make a good game, they just haven't found the magic yet.

I would expect the selfie mode goes with all the other ways you can adjust her. This is particularly a waifu game. I think I saw an add for a game very similar to this but you can make multiple waifu.
fun fact about nimrod being a name: nimrod was a great hunter in abrahamic lore (old testament). in this one comic (newspaper kind, not comicbook) a soldier who had issues with shooting his gun. his drill sargent said 'nice going, nimrod', calling him nimrod sarcastically. and because not enough people know who nimrod was, people assumed it meant 'moron' or something to that effect. and thats why its an insult, even though it shouldnt be.

But on a serious note; the first time I saw them, I was actually pretty horrified and shocked that the developers did this and I would sometimes question my morality whenever I was slaughtering these babies. I’ve been playing the game for a few days and honestly it’s pretty fun, by no means perfect but I love that they take things to the extreme and it’s kinda refreshing in today’s political climate to see people who don’t care about what others think, I should also mention the games only 22$ and it’s pretty great for that considering most call of duty skins cost the same price, I never played agony cuz it looked horrible but honestly I would recommend this game If you wanna have fun killing things and seeing wonderful art direction. But it is very cheesy and I like to think that’s what they were going for

There’s nothing wrong with being edgy though? Realistically it’s a unique niche market, that isn’t regularly visit anymore. I don’t think they ever made Agony, or this, expecting everyone to like it. Doom's hell feels more like a tamer "action hell"(if that makes any sense) while this games hell is more "horror like", and not in just a violent way as doom's hell. Things that seems poor in taste seems appropriate as too is not having a likeable protagonist. I mean come on, you are playing as a succubus.

Honestly we progressed so much because with a game with stuff like this is not even noticed in the gaming industry (and rightly so). Imagine the complete shitstorm if this game released 10 or even 15 years ago unchanged.

I like the basic idea of the game. Not quite so sure about the execution, though... Still, cool that the studio did well enough with the other game. Props to them for finding a specific player base, and capitalizing on it.
What I've noticed as of late is how incredibly often these almost porn video games are coming out late, many are AA or very indie but don't think I've ever seen the amount that there is today. Subverse for example is pretty huge and then there's seed of the dead and this. Of course, there are tons more but they are slowly but surely getting higher budgets and getting the better quality I've noticed.
It's because steam has allowed adult games on its platform for a while now and devs are realizing that it's possible to make indie of AA quality games like this and be profitable. You probably won't see any AAA games in this vein for a long time, and most big companies wouldn't touch the subject matter (this game lets you stomp demon babies, most modern AAA games treat children as invincible beings)
I don't get not being able to relate to a protag as such a bad thing. Because OH YES! How can I forget! When watching The God Father I can TOTALLY relate to a crime syndicate family -_-
I like the idea of being a demonic being meant to bring misery. But man, I feel that the game would've worked better if you were a Succubus going out into Earth and raising an army. I think it would've been cool as more and more armies start centering on you. And as you use your magic and melee attacks against the modern warfare of Earth. I feel they missed an opportunity here to be honest.
This game only exists because Agony bombed as hard as it did, so they just reused all of the assets they'd already made and put them back together into whatever the hell this is to save on dev costs.
I personally heard that there's a new version of Agony that fundamentally improves the game or that the release version wasn't completed or something... would love an updated review, but wouldn't mind the lack of one either
It is. Just a few small mechanical changes and it would be like a modern Hexen, just with cheesy dialogue and bad plotting, which would still make for an amazing game. If they made a few small mechanical changes, polished the melee combat more to where it gave better feedback to the player, and got better dialogue and plot writing for this, it would be one of the best games ever made. Instead, it's a below-average Hexen knock-off with more cheese than homemade pasta alfredo.
The bit about "explaining the meaning behind a painting while someone takes a shit right next to it" reminds me of this time I was in Paris admiring some street art lol.

😄 well dev said 2022 I'm really looking forward to it fall or winter hopefully 2022 but we will have to wait and see . they were having problems with the game on older consoles .xbox one and such so they decided to go next gen and pc not sure if it's coming to older consoles or not anymore add in covid issues. a small studio im patience enough to wait again they actually only started working on it in 2015 -17 roughly after their 1st failed kickstart when they secured a investment and then Kickstart again 1 or 2 yrs later can't remember

Honestly "better than their last game" is actually something I love to hear nowadays. A newcomer developer learning and figuring out some stuff with their first couple games is better news than formally great developers making worse and worse games, which is something that kind of keeps happening.

Problem with kickstarter and patreon devs is that they sometimes become content with the money they are being given. There are crowdfunded devs who have been doing amazing though.

I always feel the need to defend Agony as they did NOT give up on that game and worked tirelessly to fix it and make it better. Whether or not you thought they succeeded in actually making it better, you have to respect the fact they legitimately tried to do right by their customers and I'm glad to see they're still improving as a studio.

Nimrod was a character from Babylonian legends, specifically a great hunter, and for most of human history anyone who knew the name would have probably thought it was a pretty uptight and stuffy name. The reason we all think it sounds stupid is because Bugs Bunny would mockingly compare Elmer Fudd to Nimrod all the damn time, which the adults in the audience understood to be making fun of his hunting skills. 1). Because it seems mildly fun, if outdated in a lot of design.
2). Because we really need devs pushing some of that Edge, in a world where Kratos now kills enemies filled with glowing pumpkin juice.
3). Because the art-style seems to be f*cking amazing, and as an artist, I am all down for that.

Currently 5 hours into Succubus and I'm having a blast, I know the game isn't perfect but there's just something extremely fun about mowing down hundreds of minions from hell 😅
I love how in our culture we can show various scenes of brutal maiming and decapitation, people burning in lava pits and generally scenes of torture and such, but we have to censor breasts and genitalia. Silly, isn't it? And also showing those in a game is edgy, but said scenes of brutal deaths can be tasteful (in Doom for example, as the author said).

Well, I can't say that I can defend the gameplay part of the game (especially selfies and dialogues), which wasn't bad, but wasn't spectacular either. What I completely can't agree with you here though is attacking the "taste" of this game as a bad thing. I mean, you said it yourself that it's cool to see different interpretations of Hell. Here, we have a chance to see the "uncensored" version of Hell, a place where you REALLY wouldn't want to wind up after death. The only title that even came close to it was Dante's Inferno.
Seriously, after decades of "nice and cozy" Hell, a lot of people would want to see something closer to the Abyss from DnD or the Warp from Warhammer, where chaos, murder-porn and suffering mixed with dark pleasures are just a part of everyday life. You are supposed to be uncomfortable with it in the same way you are NOT supposed to like the protagonist. Really dude, you are playing a succubus - one of the more fucked up demons on the scale. In any serious setting (DnD, Pathfinder, WH and other big settings), succubi/incubi are the kind of demons that engage in cannibalism, infanticide and all manner of perverse fetishes, while being aroused by them all the time. If you want some video-game examples, check out Arushalae from the newest Pathfinder (when corrupted and met again - she is described to wave at you with a gnawed hand of a baby).
Is it a weird choice for a protagonist? Given a setting, I would say no. It would be rather weird to see a human being able to fend off demons all the time without some techno/mystical/arcane help (Doom/Hellgate/Diablo) but this theme was done countless times already and it's nice to see something new for a change - who never wanted to become a demon/play on the evil side?

They didnt hold any punches. theres one npc in agony that was mopping the floor with a bloody, screaming baby. yes its over the top but is that not what hell is? I would want to be doomguy in hell, but i would not want to visit agony's hell. and thats the point.
Yeah I found that argument kinda bad as well. This exact same argument was used by people back in the days when Doom was released, especially in Germany.
They found Doom to be very abhorrent and distasteful and even harmful for people - and that mainly because it went against THEIR values (old people who didn't know much about computers, games and so on).

It's one of those games that's meant to be played aggressively and offensively. You are supposed to be an angry Succubus, bent on revenge, so she's not going to worry about blocking, she's about attacking and killing everything in front of her.
Also it's important to note that you're mostly gonna be fighting huge mobs of enemies that will surround you which makes blocking make even less sense.

Having been a Kickstarter for Agony, I can tell you that this is what we had hoped for but never received. PC owners are lucky that they can play what I paid for but never had delivered !
Gotta say… I was looking forward to this game. Honestly… I was just disappointed that it ended when it did…
Then presently surprised they gave us a roadmap for more content. It’s not a perfect game…. but it’s fun for a $22 game. I enjoyed it.
Completely forgot there was an underlying story halfway through though. Assumed it was just “Let’s a-go kill me a baphomet!” And went with it. But I can tell you for certain… The game doesn’t take itself seriously. The selfie thing is explained by the main character’s Twitter account

You didn't mention this is a budget release. I think 25 bucks/euros is worthwhile even with the jank. This dev team has good ideas and just need to find the gameplay magic (because I think the environments are really good). Stuff like this needs to be supported. Hopefully they knock it out of the park with their 3rd game.
$25 seems like a fair price actually. I might snag this on sale later in the year and amuse myself with blood and tiddies and cheesy one-liners for a couple hours 🤷♂️

The only thing I liked about Agony was the interesting imagining of hell. So I'm actually enjoying this game as the gameplay is less awful than agony and there's more hellish scenery to look at.
Oh and in token minimal defence of the selfie-cam it's partially a running joke. Iirc in one ending of Agony we saw her steal a mobile phone. And one of the early Succubus trailers was just her playing with the phone as the apocalypse was happening. And as a plus side it's also a way of doing a camera mode which doesn't also function as a way to cheese the game by scouting for enemies... Would prefer a traditional photo mode though given the only thing worth taking a screenshot of is the landscape, not the protagonist and her dreadful hair. Lol.

I think the whole baby stomping, tits out version of hell isnt a bad design or a bad interpretation of hell. I like the idea of a bunch of petty demons that lack the intelligence or foresight to realize how dumb they sound and just go around killing because they are akin to dumb animals with little control over themselves. Doesnt make for an interesting MC or plot. I hope the Devs keep trying to stick to their niche and just improve on it.

Agony and Succubus seem to be the work of macabre artists who have no idea how to actually make a game fun or interesting. Something I loved about Agony (the only thing I loved about it) was how genuinely horrifying and strange it could be, and I really liked the classical and gruesome depiction of Hell, as if it was a medieval mural of the pit in 4k. Literally everything else falls short by a country mile, and it's extremely disappointing to seem them continue to wallow in mediocrity.
I wonder how Succubus will be like after all stuff shown on the roadmap will be done.

It's not fair to criticise the game for its "bad taste", that's entirely subjective. Imo it was about time that some developer dared to make a truly brutal game without shying away from the controvertial topics.
And yes, the game need polish in many aspects, but even with its flaws it still is pretty solid and offers a good amount of fun. And since this is a huge step up from the previous game I'll be supporting these devs.

Yeah, I played the Demo when it was released. It's an... Interesting game. Very eh when I played it though. Like DOOM but melee and no where near as good and a lot of nudity and messed up stuff, there's definitely something there though. They also have a few other games coming out if I remember, like The Tormentor, or something like that, where you kidnap people and livestream torturing them and stuff, don't think it's out though and looks really cheap. If you want a good game that's kind of messed up, try Lust from Beyond, it's a mix of Lovecraft and Giger, it's quite like Amnesia as well.

I enjoyed the game, but didn't like the progression, once i download a save to play as a leveled up character, it was smooth sailing.
The crack at Bloodlines 2 never being fully finished pained me, but it was so true I just had to laugh lol

For real though: as distasteful as the majority of this game is, I think a game set in a place like Hell should be barbaric, crude, and abhorrent to the point it disgusts people.
I mean I kind of agree, but at the same time disgusting on purpose is still disgusting. If the game wants to make me so uncomfortable as to want to stop playing it, I'm just gonna stop playing it.
Except it wasn't a joke. Dead baby jokes are great, but the protagonist is, in-narrative, actually killing babies, which is fine if the protagonist is an unrepentant, psychopathic monster, and we _are_ talking about a literal demon with a total lack of humanity here. The question is, what's the point? What is the protagonist getting out of it, and why does it matter that the audience knows what the protagonist is getting out of it? Even if it's something as simple as visceral satisfaction at hurting the innocent, there still needs to be a narrative reason as to _why_ we are being shown that side of the character. Why is it important that we, the audience, know this character derives enjoyment from hurting the innocent? There are a lot of good potential answers to that question, but in the case of this game, there is no good answer. This isn't part of some larger setup that will have a payoff later. This isn't a clue as to what kind of development the character is going to have in the future, because she doesn't develop, she doesn't have any kind of personal arc of growth or transformation.
Honestly, having her start as 'just a monster,' only to find out that she has the potential to become an even bigger monster than even she imagined, would be a good way to go with a game and story like this, to the point where even her demon peers begin to fear her because she turns out to be a monster to other monsters. Like, finding out that even Hell has rules, as she becomes the ultimate taboo-breaker and violates even the rules of Hell, making her own demonic kin afraid of her, could have been cool. This could even be taken to the point where she starts disrupting the function of Hell itself, like, say Hell exists to punish the wicked, she starts taking over areas of Hell and doing things like commuting the sentences of the worst humanity has to offer, like mass murderers, _if_ they will murder in her name. Works even better if Hell exists to _purify_ souls so that even someone who was a monster in life has the chance at repentance, and she 'corrupts' that function of Hell by stealing away from them the mechanism by which even the worst can be saved and redeemed. This is where the sex could matter narratively as well, like tempting someone who wound up in Hell due to lasciviousness or s*x-related crimes. Works even better if that person has been being purified for hundreds of years, undergoing torment so they can be transformed into something better than what they were, only she steals that away at the last second through s*xual temptation.
But instead we got the story and dialogue the game gave us.
The people replying to you are the kind of soft losers that would have asked "why can't we talk to the demons" back when DOOM came out in 1993.

That's a good point. Hell is supposed to be hell. If we start censoring it, then it just becomes a regular prison lol.
If nothing else, I'm happy the devs are trying their best and aren't getting discouraged. To me it really seems like they have a passion and really want to make a good game, they just haven't found the magic yet.
So right man.....and I even think that they specialised in games like this when I see their games list of games coming....

But on a serious note; the first time I saw them, I was actually pretty horrified and shocked that the developers did this and I would sometimes question my morality whenever I was slaughtering these babies. Mad respect to the developers for putting this in the game

I’ve been playing the game for a few days and honestly it’s pretty fun, by no means perfect but I love that they take things to the extreme and it’s kinda refreshing in today’s political climate to see people who don’t care about what others think, I should also mention the games only 22$ and it’s pretty great for that considering most call of duty skins cost the same price, I never played agony cuz it looked horrible but honestly I would recommend this game If you wanna have fun killing things and seeing wonderful art direction. But it is very cheesy and I like to think that’s what they were going for

There’s nothing wrong with being edgy though? Realistically it’s a unique niche market, that isn’t regularly visit anymore. I don’t think they ever made Agony, or this, expecting everyone to like it. I don’t know, I get it, and I respect it, and I kinda dig it. But I can fully understand why some people just can’t.

With top-tier writing for dialogue, and a good reason why the audience is getting to smash babies into pulp, you wouldn't be seeing it as cringe, you'd be seeing it as dark. The biggest problem is really the dialogue and the plot.

I like the basic idea of the game. Not quite so sure about the execution, though... Still, cool that the studio did well enough with the other game. Props to them for finding a specific player base, and capitalizing on it.
What I've noticed as of late is how incredibly often these almost porn video games are coming out late, many are AA or very indie but don't think I've ever seen the amount that there is today. Subverse for example is pretty huge and then there's seed of the dead and this. Of course, there are tons more but they are slowly but surely getting higher budgets and getting the better quality I've noticed.
Seed of the Dead has a budget? Aren't like half of the assets cheap pre-made ones?

It's because steam has allowed adult games on its platform for a while now and devs are realizing that it's possible to make indie of AA quality games like this and be profitable. You probably won't see any AAA games in this vein for a long time, and most big companies wouldn't touch the subject matter (this game lets you stomp demon babies, most modern AAA games treat children as invincible beings)
It's due to steam allowing adult content games since a couple of years ago. It gives these games bigger audiences and bigger budgets.

TBF, if there were a Hell I'm pretty sure it'd be anything BUT tasteful.
I like the idea of being a demonic being meant to bring misery. But man, I feel that the game would've worked better if you were a Succubus going out into Earth and raising an army. I think it would've been cool as more and more armies start centering on you. And as you use your magic and melee attacks against the modern warfare of Earth. I feel they missed an opportunity here to be honest.
Succubus 2 Hell on eath, they could make game in the future like this to ake it a agony trilogy
This game only exists because Agony bombed as hard as it did, so they just reused all of the assets they'd already made and put them back together into whatever the hell this is to save on dev costs.

the combat reminded me slightly of an immersive sim, I found myself having a lot of fun using the environment to get rid of enemies.
How Agony got any sort of continuation is beyond me.
The moment you compared combat to Dark Messiah convinced me that I should give this a chance!

This really feels like a game that through few minor changes could be great.
It is. Just a few small mechanical changes and it would be like a modern Hexen, just with cheesy dialogue and bad plotting, which would still make for an amazing game. If they made a few small mechanical changes, polished the melee combat more to where it gave better feedback to the player, and got better dialogue and plot writing for this, it would be one of the best games ever made. Instead, it's a below-average Hexen knock-off with more cheese than homemade pasta alfredo.

😄 well dev said 2022 I'm really looking forward to it fall or winter hopefully 2022 but we will have to wait and see . they were having problems with the game on older consoles .xbox one and such so they decided to go next gen and pc not sure if it's coming to older consoles or not anymore add in covid issues. a small studio im patience enough to wait again they actually only started working on it in 2015 -17 roughly after their 1st failed kickstart when they secured a investment and then Kickstart again 1 or 2 yrs later can't remember
