Gotta love Paiste. I have a vintage 20" 2002 china type as well, it's great. Also have the 22" modern essentials. Wonderful ride!
Sweet Brad, I remember you from Apple Z and am a recent convert to the Modern Essentials line, and yes, thank you Vinnie!
Hi Paul!! How's everything going? If I recall we met at the Opera House. Fun place. Load in and out wasn't so much fun though. Haha!
Congrats on adding the Modern Essentials series to your setup! Fantastic cymbals! :)
The 502 combo hi hats sound amazing! And the 602 original splash is one of the best sounding splashes I've ever heard?
Hi Michael! I'm really impressed by the sound of the 502 hats! They record perfectly and sound amazing in live situations too! Great hats! And I agree, 602's are AMAZING cymbals! :)
I used to use some Paiste cymbals. I found them to be too bright for me. But that was a long time ago (80’s; early 90’s?), and there was probably a negative symbiosis going on with the plastic-tipped drumsticks I used at the time as well.
They are definitely bright and I would imagine even more so when played with a nylon tip! I started out playing Zildjian cymbals all the way up to the age of about 25. Then one day I tried out a set of Paiste cymbals at a music store and fell in love with the sound. Haven't looked back since. Very inspiring cymbals. :)
@@RecordingDrumsWithBrad You certainly have an awesome collection! What is your most-go-to set of hats? That no-named hand-hammered looking bottom sounded the best to me (although they were all good).
Nice collection!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Hi Tom! Thank you!! :)
I have no loyalty to any one brand, but i definitely like paiste cymbals. I own vintage formula 602 14 hi hats a 16 &18 404 , 2002 18 crash cymbals. That i really enjoy playing
I also have a Zildjian 20 ride & 20 swish that fits the bill.
Nice! Vintage 602's are amazing sounding cymbals. They record really well. I grew up playing Zildjian. They make great stuff! These days though it's all about Paiste for me. :)
Nice collection, The dark dry ride is a gem indeed...!
Lost opportunity to buy it dirt cheap like pst 5, now thinking it was mistake lol
Thank you! I feel lucky to have that ride! Such a unique sounding cymbal. :)
Different series but they gel perfectly! I've tried every cymbal manufacturer but Paiste 's still my sound, too!
Yep, Paiste all day, every day! They just make some of the most inspiring cymbals and sounds! And they record perfectly. :)
Quite a few of the Paiste cymbals in your collection could use cleaning with Paiste Cymbal Cleaner and Paiste Cymbal Protector. Still, I am thrilled to have a look at your Paiste collection, Brad, as a Paiste player myself, and Ludwig Drums.
I bought all of the Signature Reflector cymbals new and haven't cleaned them once. I know, I know, they look pretty bad. Haha! I've thought about it but I don't trust the cleaners. It seems like every time I clean cymbals they end up turning a weird color. Does Paiste offer their cymbal cleaner again? I thought that it was discontinued. I can never find it at my local music shops. :)
@@RecordingDrumsWithBrad Paiste is in the process of bringing back Paiste Cymbal Cleaner and its companion product Paiste Cymbal Protector.
I think that the "mysterious" top hi hat is a Paiste 400 (bronze) or a 302 (brass)
Great selection! Based on the lathing, hammering & color, the $5 hat might be an old Paiste brass 101. Brass made terrible crashes & tin sounding rides, but surprisingly nice hats.
Thanks, Zeke! And thanks for giving me a clue about what series the hat might be. I'll check them out! :)
Just to throw my 10p in, I think your mysterious brass hihat is a Paiste 200 series…
Thank you, Anthony! I'll check them out!
Recommendation for a sleeper: Try the 900 series 15" Heavy Hi-Hats in the natural finish, they are really awesome and only around 200 bucks! Even JR Robinson uses them.
I just got the 15 heavy hats , and do sound really good. Also the 900 22” ride natural finish sounds great .
@@ryandanielanichols4880 I got to check out the ride, thanks!
Thanks, Thomas! I've been wanting to add 15" hats to my collection. I just went to the Paiste website and had a listen and they're perfect!! Thank you for the recommendation! :)
@@RecordingDrumsWithBrad You‘re welcome, buddy. Again, your channel is a constant inspiration.
I suppose bottom cymbal is from 1000 series. Big hummer marks.
Brass-tone top hat I guess...
