The Sabertooth's tread does not look like that in its normal pose. The pose in the video is the compact pose, it is not its normal pose. This pose is used for transportation and digg, we made the mistake of setting it as the default pose in the hanger on the test server, we already fixed it.
I don't like the new tread design. There's not much ground contact at the front and back, making it look ridiculous, like a ballerina on tiptoe. Tank treads are supposed to distribute the weight of the tank along the entire length to prevent it sinking into mud and cracking bridges, not concentrate the weight into one point and increase the pressure on the ground. I know it's a game and so not 100% realistic but this is like a missile having a huge flat wall at the front instead of a pointed tip, it is so drastically unrealistic that it looks stupid. Edit: In-game it doesn't seem to be as bad as in the hangar though.
Those treads being raised looked a bit ridiculous. I notice in the art the treads are supposed to have more ground contact so I have no idea why they went with raised treads in the hangar.
If they wanted the front and the rear to have the top-armor of the tread facing like an angled plate or something for aesthetics, they should've filled out the rest of the negative space and made triangle-wedge shaped treads for both sides. Having no contact at all on those pieces looks SO stupid. The only solace is that when they're actually moving after the start of the round, they flatten the treads out entirely before doing so, so I guess the Hangar is showing the "packed" form, like how the Marksman stows its gun in the Hangar and on deploy, but the "round start" animation has them unpack it. Similarly, it seems the new Sabretooth deploys on its tiptoes, and then unpacks its treads to a flat position as its starting animation.
Don't really like the new threads of the sabertooth. Tank threads are there to maximize contact to the ground to distribute the weight over a wide surface to avoid sinking into the ground. The new threads are the total opposite, they focus ALL the weight on a single point. AND the fact that they are higher than the chassis at the front could hinder the canons moving from side to side. I know it's a video game, but i can't unsee it and the threads does look really dumb to me almost ruining the new design. Edit : as the devs stated, the "elevated" threads is the compact pose for transport. They changed the hangar pose for the correct "battle" pose with the treads flat. So all is good !
I super hate when artists get all fancy and ignore that functionality comes before design. Like armor that just makes you think "But how do they sit down?" Or pouches for ammo that are unreachable. I was almost okay with those treads as maybe being for all terrain movement, but then the little middle treads are just... stupid.
@@groundhog-plays it's just that sometimes, the "suspension of disbelief" just doesn't work anymore when something is blatantly wrong. But anyway, the devs clarified that the hangar pose in the video is not the "battle" pose so all is good.
Old Sabertooth is a Supreme Commander UEF T2 Tank Pillar, new one is C&C 3 Tibby Mammoth tank with no rockets. Secondaries look like Horus Heresy era Sponsons
I like the side gun addition to the saber, and the new AA turret is quite good looking. However, i prefer the looo of the old tread arrangement a lot more. It felt very much like a big daddy sledgehammer before, now it's just kinda awkwardly standing on tiptoes. That being said, the seige tank inspiration is quite nice, would be fun to see if it gets a seige mode style upgrade at some point, with like 7-80 meters of extra range and extra splash radius, at the cost of most of it's movement speed.
Hmmm. With the aerial view I'm liking the sabertooth more. Treads are just that bit lower to the ground from the perspective, keeps things just looking a lot neater. It's definitely a more unique unit now, before it was definitely the least different of the rare unit designs.
Looks like a Tarantula and Sledge had a baby, but the baby is missing a few chromosomes. I much prefer the old look of the tracks, but the side guns look interesting.
Ooof, look how they massacred my boy! I liked the old design better I must say. The new design just doesn't seem logical, the tracks look a little absurd to me. Also, the old design triggered the member-berries of the old-skool C&C days where we had the Mammoth tank. I like the addition of the Secondary Armament, though I'd have preferred it to be a sort of Tarantula style auto-cannon to help a bit with chaff-clear.
It is not much but it looks like the add gun improves the situation for Sabertooth against chaff, and especially tanky chaff like Sledges and Mustangs. Sabertooth used to sink a lot of shots into a few stray crawlers...
Do the sidearms benefit from increased range? If not this could be an interesting design choice with some tech like "Prioritized targeting". Where the main gun prefers large targets and gets bonus damage against those, while the sidearms stay at 95m and take care of closer chaff. So it would be a more specialized giant-killer
Treating them like sledges is probably the smart thing to do. You could also make sure to keep them at 45 degree angles to the towers. Units at an angle tend to get there first just because of general layout.
I like the look of the current one, it reminds me of the Mammoth Tank from C&C. However, the amount of times I've bought a Sledgehammer instead of a Sabertooth (or vice-versa) will make me thankful for a more differentiated look.
I can only imagine the legs have hydraulics in them so it can have a higher or lower profile when needed. It reminds me of the 'metal gear' from Snake Eater which is always good.
The new tank model reminds me of the metal slug tank. Looks really cool. I’m glad to see doubleshot get a cost nerf. I really don’t know how it being a starting will shake thinks up, i initially see stormcaller value up and sledgehammer value down
After the first game. The side guns seem to be missing something. Maybe they would feel better with 15 extra range or something. So your Sabers move into the 95 range, but as they are approaching, they get two early shots off. It would also avoid the waste when picking Range Enhancement. I think staggering the shots is a solution. Another is to change the type of attack entirely. Instead of two side cannons, turn them into two side machine gun. Kinda like having two Beefy Mustangs attached. There is just something missing. Maybe they will grow on me as I get used to them, but I am not liking them at first glance.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
They are called sponsons :) ... Take off the anti missile tech and get the gun to attack anti air with antiair spec !! Also the side guns need nerfing and a massive rate of fire increase to counter chaff this would make it so much more enjoyable and versatile.
looks like he did not protect his mustangs well enough against the flank as half the level 3 mustangs die before the flank does, crawlers would be better there rather than a wraith imo. also the towers def need to be leveled even harder when you abandon one side to fight against another, and if you lose both sides then every tower needs levels
The break points for damage I'd be worried about would be against giants and scorps. The way I veiwed the old Saber was it is really good cheap anti Big unit. I'll try secondary armaments but I'm a bit leery of it. I'd prefer if they were faster cycling and did less damage. so you could work through a chaff block a bit faster to get to the units you want to target. 44 I think you could either run it as a choice of range or secondary armament. if you click one don't click the other. conversely if you make that decision in the load out section keeping regen on your sabers while you wouldn't have range you would have a load of HP and you'd keep the AM device which is situationally useful. Saber has worst AM but AM is AM and when you need it you need it. I guess the way I'd put it is you want the saber to do a thing. you have load outs for the rest of your units. make sure the saber fits with those as a unique tool. you can pick whether it is a brawler or a scary anti big unit. pick which one you need based on what the rest of your units do.
The new Sabertooth is terrible. Its design is ridiculous and silly. It doesn't look as menacing as it did before. The side cannons are useless. They often shoot at one target, sometimes all the shots can hit one target. It would be better if they made side cannons like the Tarantula or Mustangs/Typhoons, high rate of fire and low damage against small targets. This would make it versatile but still it would not be able to replace anti-chaff units.
The Sabertooth's tread does not look like that in its normal pose. The pose in the video is the compact pose, it is not its normal pose. This pose is used for transportation and digg, we made the mistake of setting it as the default pose in the hanger on the test server, we already fixed it.
Thanks for the clarification and update!
If new can't do something old one could, I want the old one to stay as well, I love that thing
if we called it chin gun on boat, we should call it cheek gun on saber

agreed, better have flat tread and then transform to this for siege mode or something 👍
The high tread in the front makes it look like the main cannon cannot rotate as well.
Oh it lays flat in game... looks much better. Also the recoil animation on main cannons is AWESOME!
Those treads being raised looked a bit ridiculous. I notice in the art the treads are supposed to have more ground contact so I have no idea why they went with raised treads in the hangar.

Exactly my thought: they look silly but I guess very ‘mecha’
I hate the new look. I'd rather keep the classic ST
but muhh immersion.... Where does one draw the line between style and purely realistic?

Old Sabertooth is a Mammath Tank from good old Westwood era C&C, and the new one looks like Starcraft Siege tank and Demolisher from WH40K had a baby.
The rocket packs are missing for the westwood era^^
Ugly baby

Ngl the angled treads look goofy, the gun looks sick but the side profile is pretty yikes.

It doesn't benefit. Just like Overlord's cannons.
its sad that the side guns are not gonna be lasers that would make the unit look badass
Looks cool. Looking forward to changes that shift the meta
well, the new sabretooth looks just bad. Rest is okay. What happens to a sabretooth spec?

The new version looks so much better, it looks more like a beast. More importantly it looks more distinct from the smaller Sledge tank.
Love the turret design and the new firing effect. Feels weighty and powerful. I reaaalllly don’t like the chassis design though 🤢

Noooo wtf they got rid of the C-RAM!!! The old one is a million times better, the new one looks like a bastardized siege tank from Starcraft 😑😑
The sledgehammers sorely lack shields.

Now it looks like a Siege Tank and you cant tell me otherwise.
In the first game you picked AM to prevent any missile you opponent could buy or defending against stormcallers?
I was anticipating vulcan (incen + oil) since I was on the line and my opponent was near the tower. But since he never took them it was wasted.
and its going to be in the starting pool, which seems a bit counter to what they did before with the starting pools and commander changes.
just a bit
I suspect that they used the Saber Commander as a testing ground to see if early Saber was problematic.
@@zerex8375 I would think so, its certainly a power spike to that player for the first few rounds.
oh that makes sense
The new tank treads look so bad, do they not understand why tanks have treads? 🤔
Hint: It's not to focus the weight on a small area lol
They could have made the back and front threads look more grounded not like a tarantula.
Also the guns look like they are going to clip in the threads

Secondaries should have been dps instead of damage. It makes no sense that smaller guns mounted on the side do more damage than the main cannon.
I dont like the new design, when they are on the board they just look like a big blob.
What will be the counter to this ?
Just highlights the lack of guns on the Fort for me

That's how little I pay attention
What is ‘Raiden / Raven’ ?
Another new unit for season 2, see here: th-cam.com/video/YMP8yNawfgo/w-d-xo.html
I really like the new look from the Turret and the side Turrets, but the Tank in general looks awful compare to the old one imo.
I'll call them S.... oh wait double gun will do, it is a lot of syllables indeed. hahahaha.
thanks, I hate it!
At least keep the old one as a skin, new one looks a misguided lego attempt

Ok but are you ever gonna fix these server issues lmao can never even play
