As much as I want to say something along the lines of "more money than skill" for most of these clips, I actually really respect people pushing their cars and their skills in as safe of an environment as possible; at the track, as opposed to in public causing property damage and hurting people.

True but im pretty sure this aint actually a track. From memory its just a toll road. Anyone can roll up and pay your 20 bucks to have a go. Nothing like a track day. Might have changed though.
@@TheHuntsman42 It's a CLOSED "Toll Road". Yes, yes, there are several "Exits" from the Public "Road", but for ALL Intents and Purposes..... The Nurburgring(stupid Smartphone) is a Public Access RACETRACK.
And to reiterate, American Racetracks need to Adopt this.
I pretty much think these people need to understand what their cars are capable of before they start running with people next to them. I can see a car that is set up for racing but not these Polos. Some of these cars are trying to take turns that the race cars are spinning on. Plus the rain doesn't help any. I cringe every time I see a car spin and then with a splitter the try and hop on the other side of the road. Money is money I guess.
@@TheHuntsman42 haven't really changed. It's not like a track day at all, problem being the vast amount of people who never ever were on a track before. It's not even their driving that makes them dangerous, it's the lack of experience of how to behave on a track at speed. If you wanna be serious about your driving or want to minimize the risk that some amateur destroys your car...do a regular trackday organized by some pros or try to find a tourist spot that is not so crowded (good luck with that).

He's just a typical BMW who seems to thinks, that 50/50 weight distribution is a good thing. When in reality, it isn't!

I was reminded of my mom's '89 Ford Econoline. Just go around the block, there's only 100 feet or so to turn around. It won't make it.
Many older cars have notoriously huge turning radiuses.

I'd say he knew from experience that if he goes over a certain angle, all will be lost and spinning is the best option to stay on your way.

5:20 Yo mad props to that Dodge driver. That's a hard recovery right there, handled it like a champ. I've spun out like that, its hard to keep your cool and your tires straight when the ass end of your car is thrashing you.
It can be difficult to correct that type of skid. But I don’t think they did a very good job. They had slow reaction beginning of skid. They locked up his rear wheels which isn’t good because instead of keeping the car moving “forward” and having the ability to steer you only loose more control of the rear end. Oversteer and bad hand placement👎.

Honestly with a skid like that, if you know you won’t hit anything then just let it go around. If you try to save it you might make it worse
@@EATSLEEPDRIVE2002 yeah, I guess so. It’s hard to say because they may have been in a higher gear and had traction control on👎.They had a good amount grip so they would need a lot of power to get those rear wheels spinning loose.
With things like this happening so often I'm amazed as how the grass is still such a nice green

Thats hilarious. Watching somebody slightly damage the exterior of their own car which they bought with their own money pissed you off. I guess somebody needs to watch for car abuse, right? That car is a precious baby with fragile feelings that must be protected at all costs, even if it isnt even yours, and even if its an inanimate object.
Laser Blue MX-5 at the end is one of the rarest color options ever offered for that car...and they've just made it a bit rarer.
Thankfully it was just an MX-5 and not something desirable :)

The Rowe 721 "Driving School" car at 4:38 already had a front driver's side flat which is WHY he hit the wall, not because he misjudged his speed or took it too wide.
What an amateur mistake... always make sure that you don't have any flat tires before you start racing kiddos!

@@thegee-tahguy4877 I had a chat with the team on the day this happened and afterwards I told them what I saw on the footage. It was atleast somewhat of a relief for the driver

It never ceases to amaze me how many people fail to find the brake pedal when they're rolling backwards towards a crash barrier - once you've lost control completely, just lean everything on the brake just in case, it's saved my rear bumper a couple of times lol

Had a flat left and possibly no brake lines coming in from Eschbach. Hence the accident avoidance and no lockup before they took out the armaco instead of another competitor.
@@itsdashy Yes, looking closely now I can see that. Braking around Brünnchen at that speed with a bare left rim would be very dicey indeed. As you say, he did do a good job of keeping the damage down to what it was. Of course at a glance there is a bit of irony in the scene at 4:45, though I've probably been a bit unfair. Cheers - Dave (As an ex-racer myself, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done as well in honesty...).

I like the guys who go "you know when's the best time to go the race course with a bunch of twists, turns, and corners, in a legit legit non-street-legal race with semi slicks/fully slicks, yeah when it's raining, that'll be really fun, and totally not a stupid idea I'll regret"
It came their turn to go out and most likely wasn't raining in the pits, but got caught on the other side of the track...
I've always wanted to drive this course but I don't have much desire to do it in the wet. So many examples just in this video where they barely applied power and the rear and just went around like they were on an oil slick. I've ran several other tracks in wet conditions and never had anything like that happen and usually going faster than most of the examples in this video.
The fact that most of these clips were BMWs failing is honestly funny
Me being a bmw fan personally I love how it's not showing that BMWs are the greatest car of all time and instead show that even fantastic cars like them can have erorros due to the driver or the car in general which is why I love these clips
I also love the diversity and different car cultures that are shown in these videos that enhance my knowledge about cars

Not very observant people commenting on this comment. He'd already had a flat going into the corner which is why he went off and when he hit the wall the already deflating tyre came off the rim on impact
These are mistakes on track but for the most part, the drivers are being smart. If they snatch a brake, they aren't still trying to make the corner when it isn't on. The most important thing is a safe rejoin which they are almost all doing so fair play to them.

That BMW is just following the race line. The Porsche's trying to pass from the right side and even if the other driver happened to glance at the mirror he might be on the blind spot. Just stupid move by the Porsche. Where did he expect that BMW to go?
