Midir and Placidusax are both peak dragon fights in gaming. Midir has the wrath and aggressiveness of an ancient powerful dragon, meanwhile Placidusax has the spectacle of fighting a godlike being.
But Placidusax now is sick and about to dying. Shattered heads, torn wings, and glowing gold wounds began to open all over his body. I hope in upcoming dlc we get prime Placidusax with more hp and attacks. It will be amazing as related to his title
Anyone who is still struggling with this boss my absolute best advice you can’t go wrong with to beat him is to use Malekiths black blade +10. Absolutely whooped his ass with that, it does insane damage to him.

Elden Ring is an epic masterpiece, not just a masterpiece. It so extremely massive in scale and is a masterpiece throughout. Idk how it didn’t take them 12+ years to make it. If only we had a game like this every three years. Gaming sites ratings systems weren’t meant to handle a game of this scale being a masterpiece. How people rate this almost the same as God Of War Ragnorok is a joke. This is over five+ times as good as Ragnorok.
And the most amazing part is that they made it next to impossible to find. Why hide such a glorious fight. It had 0% completion on the trophy list for the longest time. I THINK cowboy was the first to find him.
@@russelld2925 the dark souls games are known for having secret dragon fights. kalameet and midir were both a little bit cryptic to find without a guide.

@@Kro-RissaVirus Just curious, what exactly do you like better about Placidusax? Obviously the presentation, visual design and soundtrack blow Midir right out the water, but gameplay-wise Midir forces you to engage with the fight far more personally with how you have to attack his head. In the Dragonlord’s case you just slap his bum a whole lot, and I thought his fire was a bit more unfun with how it forces you to flee rather than dodge through (like Godrick’s flame breath). Though I do really like his teleport mechanic, I just wish you were rewarded more for dodging well unlike Midir where every attack gives you some sort of opening.

People who play souls games, answer me this please. Why does everyone say Midir is the dopest dragon? Bcz as a random watcher, this fight was way more badass & difficult looking.
As someone who has fought and loves both, they have their strengths. Placidusax is a much more visually spectacular fight with a lot of cool attacks but he's a lot slower, less aggressive and much easier. Midir might not have the same mind blowing visual design but his fight is a lot more active and engaging, requiring much tighter reactions and reading by the player. Both however are fantastic and the peaks of the games they come from in my opinion.
King Ghidorah, are you feeling okay buddy? Don’t worry, we’ll give you a new shiny head in a couple thousand years… Don’t fight any chosen hero’s until then alright.
That moment where all the lightning strikes in the background go off at once, with Placidusax roaring at you as he spreads his wings, making it rain lightning… I will never forget this. By far my favourite boss fight in this game.
I think it used to have 5 heads, it was a five headed dragon, maybe an elden lord in the past challenged it and managed to decapitated it's three heads.
Now we finally have an explanation why placidusax is missing a head and why it looks battle damaged, it had a death match with bayle and it resulted in a draw and bayle fled to the land of shadow.
Placidusax is the Gael of Elden Ring. No bullshit mechanics, deadly but fair attacks, beautiful arena, badass lore and a gripping OST. A spectacle fight of epic proportions
The beauty of the moves, asthetetics, enchantments and the power of the Dragons, amaze me, of course it is also applied to the whole game, thanks From Software for gifting us with this materpiece.
Having such a hidden boss like this makes me wonder if there are any other obscured bosses nobody has found yet. I mean probably not, if there was it would have almost certainly been dug up from the files, but still it's cool to think a boss of this scale is so absurdly hidden
I’m surprised folk don’t appreciate this attack as much. The way the heads move with awareness of one another is so fluid. Not to mention the timing of the music
Epic fight, but you can completely negate the massive damage he does wearing the Dung Eater set, Boltdrake, Flamedrake, Pearldrake and Dragoncrest Greatshield talismans. Equip a decent guard greatshield and a spear for maximum dragon hunter vibes. It took ages, but you take a fraction of all his lightning and fire attacks, and you feel like a badass.

Most of the late game bosses are horribly designed and use cheap tactics to punish the player like Flask catching attacks, moves tracking you in physically impossible ways, horrible camera views and too many attacks that rely on pure RNG on whether you get hit or not.
@Isaiah Wood67 nah they do input read and the AI punishes you for it. a fair number of fights in the game have a lot of rng in regards to what move set they use and when. it absolutely affects the outcome of a fight. i dont think placidusax is one of those bosses though. he feels pretty fair, but challenging.
I always love to see just how many moves Placidusax has and how creative he can get with his abilities. Even with some odd, possibly hindering proportions, you can truly tell why he was the Elden Lord figure for the dragons, much like how Morgott proves his worth despite his own conditions. Placidusax's ruin even implies that he was dying at this point -- he gives a full boss fight from what's any other boss' dying animation. Amazing.
Juat to clarify this for people, he wasn't Elden Lord. He was the Last Dragonlord. He was there before the time of the Elden Beast, therefore he was never Elden Lord. The Elden Beast was sent through Farum Azula by the Greater Will and only after Marika got far enough, an Elden Lord, Godfrey, was selected. Theu are pretty obvious about this stuff, since there are multiple dragonlord and Godfrey is called THE FIRST ELDEN LORD, by the way. You'd be surprised how the obvious easily flew over other people's heads.
@@asdergold1 He's the Elden Lord figure, as noted by his associated items, but he's not an Elden Lord outright, since the concept had yet to actually exist during his era. The meteorite that struck Farum Azula doesn't have to be the star that the Elden Beast arrived on either.

@@ShinyFlakesShinyFlakes you going to die a lot but it’s worth it in the long run when u do beat Watever boss ur fighting
Anyone who is still struggling with this boss my absolute best advice you can’t go wrong with to beat him is to use Malekiths black blade +10. Absolutely whooped his ass with that, it does insane damage to him.
Yup literally just did that now. The ash of war wrecks him.
Just came here to say thanks, I haven’t been able to beat him after multiple attempts, would always get him down to like 30% health and he does the fire laser beams and he’d kill me. I used maliketh’s black blade+9 and +10 mimic tear, and we finished him before he could even get to that point.
I destroyed him using the incantation version
My personal favorite thing to use against this dragon, is ancient dragon lightning strike
Use shard spiral or pest threads as a mage
it scary to even imagine how strong Placidusax and Bayle was in their prime. we fight their rugged, half-dead version and still a nightmare

@@TehKoolaidkid No, it’s just this crazy thing called having a personal preference. Neither one was that hard I just far prefer THIS fight, it was much more enjoyable and entertaining in my opinion.
@@fransiscofranco641 Where I’m hitting him to do damage has zero impact on my enjoyment of a boss.
