    In Reaper if you have a noise floor you can sample it, and correct and remove it by applying the floor correction on the track, which cancels it out.. No hiss, hum, feedback, crackles, buzz...

      Dope feature and thanks for coming in👍🏾I’m presuming it flips the polarity on the sampled hum that’s applied to the track??

      @@chayalexanderwrightthey take a noiseprint and filter the noise based on that profile. Phase inversion would not work because the noise is not a 1:1 sample accurate recreation of the random noise across the entire track.

    Thanks for the video. I agree. And I believe I know which content creator you are referring to. Most reputable plugin developers are not scamming anyone. I began using Waves plugins back in the digi001 days and it was mind boggling at how effective they were in music projects. Nowadays plugins have come a long way and are a staple in my music projects. I have some outboard gear but only use it now for tracking vocals on the way in. Everything else is in the box. Though I will leave mastering to professionals. I could go on and on about some content creators who talk down on plugins.
    There seems to be too much focus and A & B testing on plugins that mean absolutely nothing when it comes to using plugins for creating music. They are just tools to get the job done. If a song reaches out and connects with an audience (online or live) then that's what matters. It's all about the song. Not plugins. Though now I digress. I have too many plugins but I like having choices and options when working on my songs. And I certainly don't feel scammed by plugin developers. I've subbed to your channel.

      Thanks for subscribing, checking this out and chiming in 👍🏾 I agree 100%. These are tools to help us shape music in the best way to connect with people, like the hardware. I think a number of people get wrapped up in the comparison game, which is much easier to handle than what it takes to create good music and sound. I agree with it being nice to have a number of options at your disposal, in tens of having too many plugins. Back in the day, we used to book different phases of projects in different studios based on the outboard gear and console available.

    I'm amazed with today's plugin and DAW technology. I'm guilty of having to own every new plugin when in reality I only needed to know few to get the job done. I'm a huge fan of the SSL Channel Strip 2 and it's been my goto for some time now. I believe it's not the gear but the engineers experience and ears which in my opinion takes time to develop.
    Thanks for sharing - Liked & Subscribed - Cheers

    Really like to hear takes from seasoned pros who actually walk the walk the walk like this - extremely valuable in a space where so many 'producer bros' are spouting BS and the content they demo if any is awful. Thanks for this have subbed. Minor gripe though, intelligibility on the presenters mic is a little low - especially when the tape is rolling. Little bit of scope for improvement there to get the best out of such valuable content.

    Absolutely, agree with the plugins of today as I mix and master with in side the box.all day. As a.matter of fact I use mostly Steinberg stock plugins. Reverence, Stereo Delay, Revalation, REV X and of course UAD LA2A, Pultec, Channel Strip. etc. I own MKS50, TX81Z, and a Juno 6 which I have as vsti. Love them

    dig plugins are more controller ready now, I went the Softube rout but 360 seems great too. Love onscreen layout you can do, I would love that same deal in console one. I just mixed around 80 different tracks for cornish college end of semester performance, and if I had to mouse around for all of that I would have been in physical pain. I work on a digico sd 10 at work, it is fully digital and I can make it sound great and quickly, and I think the modern controllers bring that home to the DAW. Lots of cool ideas out there and I am glad they are influenced by analog desk work flows

    • @chayalexanderwright
      @chayalexanderwright  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Man, softube is killin’ em, too. The plugins sound great and Console One works great. You know if you want the console layout to go with the efficiency of your Console One flow, you can still use the 360 environment with the softube stuff: 360, 360Link & 360Buss are free and come with customization templates for a lot of plugins.

      @ oh really. Nice! I thought u had to own an ssl plug. Thanks for the tip. Would like to try it out. The thing i like abiut the console 1 most is it has one cable and i can kick back on the couch and mix with it lol

    Thanks for this. You just flipped my whole insert chain. What are you doing with the Link tracks in 360? They don’t appear to have anything mapped. Is this so you can use the fader in 360 in DAW mode?

    • @chayalexanderwright
      @chayalexanderwright  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you, so much! Yeah, the 360Link channels are my FX returns and group channels, and you’re exactly right - it’s so I can keep their faders in the 360 environment.

      @@chayalexanderwright great idea! Not sure why it never occurred to me. Works good for little one off type sample and sound effect tracks too. I tried it on a mix after I saw your video today. Great timing. I’m doing the same on a 2nd mix already. Super helpful. 360 just opened up for me. Thanks again 🙏🏼

      @@chayalexanderwright you said you’re using a Studer emulation on every track. Where in the insert chain are placing those?

    • @chayalexanderwright
      @chayalexanderwright  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@thenextinsect actually, I ‘bake’ the A800 and input channel strips & gentle compression into my audio when I’m recording or bouncing all of my virtual instruments and record my live instruments to hard disk audio, and I put the A800 at the bottom of the chain. If I insert them on tracks already bounced to hard disk audio, I insert the A800 at the top of the chain. Does this make sense?

    I think Sound is sound and sound is not own by nobody and by any technology, one thing is that some people are used to certain technology, gear and their sounds, but that does not mean is better, just different and is matter of preference and matter of the trend and and the time.... now I still think analog sounds better than its plugin counterparts, breathes, moves and bounce better in a more musical and pleasant way...but definitely you can get awesome quality results ITB.....

    Did you have a ghost run on your desk at 58 sec in the video ...lol ...that was strange... besides that ... yes plugins sound different from their analog brethren but as long as you get the results who cares. Normal music listners will not be able to tell the difference anyways...only producers who use different gear and plugins daily. Its all subjective.

    the reasons these guys are so into hardware sounds better than plugins, is because they have spent all this money over the years on this expensive hardware, and $99 plugingin renders their hardware pointless.. and when you tell them you dont really hear much of a difference they hit you with , you dont have the ears for it. ive been producing music for 30 years, if i dont havethe ears noone does. they are just mad that they cant talk down to people anymore because they have expensive equipment, noone cares anymore, that you have a real 1176 compressor, that you paid thousands for, so what!!, i got the same sound for 50 bucks

    plugins absolutely are a scam.
    what is under the hood is all the same no matter what you might think.
    The only thing that has got better is the user interface gui.
    But like you said if you can get it to sound good , it all ok.
    We got off plugins in 2011 and never looked back.
    Peace!

      plugins in 2025 are not the same plugins from 2011. Far from being a scam. The evolution has been amazing. Tell that to engineers like Jaycen Joshua who are completely in the box and they sound just as good if not better than analog at this point.
