Alaska Fly Fishing - A River to Ourselves - Code Breaker Angler

- Most anglers who experience Alaska find themselves on a crowded river, sometimes shoulder to shoulder, or at least with other anglers in sight targeting the same fish. That's not how we do Alaska.
Thanks to my buddy Derek Olthuis and his flyfishcamps.com operation we once again had a river completely to ourselves. An entire week of fly fishing, and the only ones to pop in on us were the bears and muskox!
We hope you enjoy our adventure!
Thanks for following along and becoming a Code Breaker Angler!

Another awesome film man! It’s the little shots like the muskox and aerial view of sight fishing the silvers that make it
Thanks man! I appreciate it! It’s fun to get creative up there with the cameras 😁
My comment seams like a broken record “ great work again stunning shots “and makes me wanna get out Heading to the green this week 🎣
Thanks Glen! Glad you enjoyed it, and best of luck over on the Green! I'm jealous!!!
THANK YOU
My pleasure!
They are beautiful fish! Huge grayling. Excellent video Gilbert.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, they are remarkable fish!
These Graylings reminds me , in 1990 when i was at the Telequana Lake for 4 weeks. I`ll never forget the time up there (as a German…) Great documentation, thanks.
That’s great, glad it was able to bring back some good memories. Grayling are pretty special. Glad you enjoyed the film! 👊
This video was amazing Gilbert! Amazing cinematography and it looks like you got into some awesome fish!
Thanks man! It was super fun to capture those moments in such as awesome place!
Looks like a great trip Gilbert, and absolutely stunning images as always!
Very kind, thank you for checking it out!
Awesome video!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, great adventure, great advice. Thanks for putting it all out there!
I love Dollys. Twenty five years ago, I named a Lab pup Dolly Varden. She grew into a heckuva dog.
That’s awesome! Great name for a pup for sure 👍
Hey flyfisher friends: what a fantastic video, nice picture screens and also the music! Your channel is new on my abonnement! Hp. 🇨🇭
@@hanspeterluthi3230 thanks so much, glad you enjoy our videos! Thanks for coming along our adventures 👊
What an awesome video! I met you at Sundance back in February (I think) for the fly fish film tour. I love your content! Keep it up
Hey thanks man! I actually remember talking to you up there, that was a fun night!
Another great video Gilbert
I appreciate it! Thanks for checking it out and for the continued support!
@@GilbertRowley I am just waiting for your next project to support. Good thing the Nymphing Masterclass is digital...I would have ruined the VHS from use long ago. No pressure (a little good natured I guess), but I can't wait for your next class
Second best video with grayling that you've made ;)
I agree completely with that statement ;-) Thanks amigo!
Good advice Gil.
Thanks, hope you found the film enjoyable 👍
@ oh ya. Hope to replicate it on the North Slope of the Yukon Territory.
@ awesome! I’ll bet that’s going to be EPIC!
Thanks for inspiring me to get outside today!
Thanks Ryan, you inspire me as well!
Thanks for the early present Gilbert. Merry Christmas and tight lines.
Thanks man! Merry Christmas to you as well! Glad you enjoyed the film!
What an awesome story! Kudos to you man for the great cinematography and making us feel like we're in Alaska for a few minutes haha. We tried to DIY a dolly trip out of an RV earlier this year around Homer and couldn't put anything big on the board. I'd go back as many rounds as it takes for those sea run colors 🤌
Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words. We were very blessed to find some great fish for sure. I've never spent much time around Homer, but I've heard its gorgeous! Best of luck on your next adventure up there, and all the other great projects you have going on!
solid VID. copter or no copter, it was pretty rad.
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome 👍
Thank you!
perfect
Thanks, it was a great adventure!
Great video, magnificent fish, especially graylings. A question: how could you sleep peacefully in a tent for a week with the bears circling around you? 😅
Haha, the first night or two can be a little nerve racking. After that I’m so worn down that I don’t even give it a second thought. Plus we practice extreme bear safety… so that we can sleep
At night 😁 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great content
A question. I am from the netherlands. A very small country with a lot of freshwater fishermen. Now a certain animal friendly party is trying to shut down angling. They first try to get a boot on the ground in one of the mayor cities, which is in the centre of the Netherlands. Almere city. In the polder. A great area to fish. And my experience with politicians : they succeed.
How is this in Canada, in the US ? Greetings from The Netherlands
Not a prayer in the USA. Far too much money in the tourism industry for this to take root. One of our challenges is big money coming in and snapping up private property and trying to restrict access. Floatable rivers are public water and thus fishable some states have walk and wade high water mark laws where u can walk though private rivers and streams and fish. If it isn’t heaven u can see it from here 🇺🇸
@glencamblin wow that's fishing heaven. I watch all these US and Canadian guys on youtube. And their fishing adventures. Just awesome. I have written to my local fishclub that all clubs should direct the request to the industry.Because only the Money can turn the tide. We arent allowed to live bait since 8 years. Soon we arent allowed to fish at all.
I really hope they don't succeed in shutting down fishing in your area. There is so much good that comes from being outside chasing fish! Best of luck with your fight to keep fishing access open. Thanks!
@@GilbertRowley i fully agree with you. Thank you
You are braver than I am, riding in an R-44. I would not touch those with a 10-foot pole. I am a retired Aircraft and helicopter Pilot with a 47-year accident-free career. I cringe every time I see those things. I used to fly in Alaska. It has a lovely stream and even nicer fish. Musk Ox, you have to be north of Nome.
I didn’t know any better and loved every minute of the flight. The open view cockpit was awesome, I guess it’s just a good thing we had nice weather. Alaska is such a cool place from the air.
I am trying to figure out the location. We actually have muskox on the tundra well south of Nome, so could be down our way too.
Lots of muskox on the Kuskowim (compared to most of the world). So could be south of Nome. Lack of rainbows puts it north of the Kuskokwim though.
Great to fish anywhere, and as far as I know you do not need to move far in Alaska to find fantastic fishing... So I do not really see the point of the helicopter... Not good for the environment. Better hike 😅 I like more your technical videos with takes and fish raising. Thanks for sharing your great videos!!
Thanks for checking it out, glad you enjoy our other videos 👍
Peccato un video così bello rovinato dalla voce della ia
That’s the first time I’ve ever been called a robot 😁 First time for everything
