    Thank you for the very good lesson on how to use this. I have had this for 2 years but never got around to seeing what it can do beside check cell voltage. Very well presented and at a good pace.

    5:30 when i hold down the mode/discharge button all that happens is "discharge" shows up on the screen and 1s and 2s along the top start flashing (2 cell battery). i assume its discharging?

    Nice video, I am beginning my RC airplane journey, knew this device was good and ordered it. The instructions are detailed but cryptic, with Chinese English to muck things up some more. Your video filled many missing gaps , I will figure out the rest thanks to you, sir. Job well done.

    If you hold the cell button, mine goes into the balance function. Then one tap of the cell button starts the cell balancing. I use this function the most, by far. Keeping the cells balanced really extends the life and capacity of the battery over time.

    I have a question.
    There are other versions of these, and some can measure the internal resistance of the battery packs.
    If I hook up a battery holder, would this check 18650 lithium ion cell and 1.2v nimh aa/as cell resistance?
    Also, have you done any comparisons to manually checking (using the voltage drop calculations) and see if they are similar?

    Hi there,
    When I try to test Motor (all 3 modes, Manual-Center-Auto) there is no Motor Rotating.
    After couple of try I realised this ;
    if I set the Cellmeter 8 about 1300 ms (still there is no RPM on the motor) and disconnect the Cellmeter and Re-Connect it, motor test start to work (all 3 modes, Manual-Center-Auto).
    As i watched your video "Motor Test Function" sould be ok without this "Disconnect and Re-Connect" action.
    Do You think there is a problem about mine? TIA

    • @robojax
      @robojax  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, no you can't . Lithium batteries get permanently damaged if you fully drain them. That's why chargers have "over-discharge protection" which I have explained here with this Lithium charger th-cam.com/video/0mOqpCfAdy4/w-d-xo.html you will learn a lot about Lithium chargers if you want.

    So the CM7's balancing by holding TYPE has been removed on the CM8 and you have to use discharge instead by long holding MODE. Meaning you need to specify a voltage which you didn't need to do on the CM7 as it tool the voltage of the lowest cell?

    Many thanks for your informative review. I have the Cellmeter 8 and it is very useful. The only issue I have is the servo tester. I set it up, exactly like you, using a lipo 3S 2200mah and a 30amp ESC with BEC but at the time of plugging in the 'battery' connection, a continuous alarm sound starts and none of the information on the screen is shown. I have checked the plugs that go into the "servo power in" and "servo test out" to ensure they are the correct polarity. Do you know what I am doing wrong please. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you. Peter

    • @robojax
      @robojax  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are welcoem. these inputs are simply 5V. the alarm is for the battery /cell level. so it seems the input voltage is not 5V. the middle wires red or organge is + and the balck is negative.Check the volage comeing from ESC to make sure it is 5V.

    • @peterbridger8464

      @@robojax Thank you. I appreciate your reply. An oscilloscope can test the voltage coming from an ESC but I don't have one. I thought most rc esc's have a BEC. I tried many esc's that I have but they all set off the alarm. I might have to look at getting some other type of servo tester. All the best.

Might work with "exposed" type module. There may be original and counterfeit CellMeter 8's. My Hobbymate "portrait"version, with black AOKoda module, fast discharges lipos very well. Robojax I think what he means is, can this unit make all the cells have an equal voltage level? This is accomplished during charging and/or discharging the battery on some units. For example CELL METER 7 can accomplish cell balancing by making all cells equal to the voltage of the lowest cell in the battery.

    • @KonaChuck22
      @KonaChuck22 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      kermets Does the HK-10 need an external voltage source to balance the pack? I'm looking for a balancer that can handle a 4S pack of large LIFEPO4 260AH cells without the need for a second battery.

    • @kdiggs23
      @kdiggs23 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can balance the cells anytime with the cell meter. Hold the cell button, it should say bal, then hit the cell button again and it should start to balance. I have a tenergy 5-in-1, which is basically the same thing minus the servo tester, it looks the same. When you hold the cell button that brings me to where I can check the internal resistance too, it says ir. If my advice doesn't work, I still maintain that somewhere you should be able to cycle through a menu of the other options besides just discharging for lipos. PS- Thanks for the video on the HJ servo tester!
