Congratulations on your weight loss successes and how you’re doing with this process. I love your educated approach to this journey. Would you be willing to share your sources, information, articles, or research points? I would love to get more knowledgeable in this area without a lot of the fluff and/or misinformation. Lastly, can you share what kind of checkers you’re using and how you’re able to digitally track these processes? It seems to be a great way to keep up with the facts.
For measuring, I using the Withings Body Cardio scale, which I have had for years. It is connected to my Apple Health App/iPhone. I also have their blood pressure machine which also connects to my Apple Health App.
As far as getting started on this journey and trying to educate myself; I found a few YT channels to be invaluable: On The Pen, Countess of Shopping, and On The Plus SideZ.
Additionally, a few podcasts that I found on Apple. They aren’t necessarily focused on GLP-1 meds, but there would be an episode here or there where they would have a specialist on.
Lastly, lots of valuable information in Facebook support groups. You have to filter through a lot there though and do your own research (as with any medium). Mostly what I found there was how to manage any symptoms that may come about. It’s great to hear what others are doing.
@@RoundMoundofZepbound thank you for the info on the devices. I’ve followed those creators and they offer great info. Thanks for mentioning them as well. Haven’t searched on FB, but will have to search through some forums. I appreciate the reply as well.
Do you have other social media? I’d give you a follow.
Trying to reluctantly set-up a TikTok, more so to see more of the community discussions.
Stay as low as possible. Just change your diet to more protein and some fat. But stay away from packaged goods. Real food and no processed foods if you can. I started Mounjaro in July 2023. I lost to date 160lbs. And if you get a stall, just change your eating window in the day and change up the times you eat. I never went above 5mg. Just 2 weeks ago had to go to 7.5mg not by choice but because the shortages I can’t find 5mg. Just spreading my shot over 9 days instead.
160?! Wow! Congratulations!!!
Thanks for the advice! I plan on going to 10 and staying there for as long as possible. 7.5 definitely increased my appetite suppression and decreased my food noise, but I need a little bit stronger dose. Will start with a 90 day supply of 10 (if I can find it).
I don’t want to go above 10.
Will your telehealth doctor give you a 90 day prescription? If so what service are you using?
Good morning. Thanks for your question. Yes! He gave me a 90 day script for my current dose of 7.5. I’m using PlushCare.
@@RoundMoundofZepbound Thank you for responding. I’m with Sequence and I’m having a hard time getting my doctor to agree to give me a 90 day script. Did you just simply ask for the script or is it a certain way I can phrase it? I’m so frustrated because with the shortages it would just make me feel so much better if I had a 3 month supply.
Well, when I moved to 5mg, he asked me if I wanted a 90 day script. I told him no at the time.
But when I talked to him about moving to 7.5mg, I said since I was doing well on weight loss and no side effects outside of constipation (which I’ve managed with OTC items), I asked if I could do 90 days. I told him that I didn’t want to move up too fast and a 90 day supply costs the same as a 30 day supply for me.
@@RoundMoundofZepbound thanks I’m going to say the exact same thing on my next visit. Hopefully it will work for me.
Wishing you luck! 🙏🏽
Wow! You loss 6 pounds of fat?!!! That's fantastic! Are you doing a lot of weight training?
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽
Sorry, I didn’t see the entire comment for some reason.
I’m weight training 3 times a week for 30-35 minutes. Nothing too major, just 3 sets of 10 to 12. Things like chest press, rows, leg presses, leg curls & extensions, triceps, and bicep curls. Focusing in the bigger muscle groups for maximum impact.
Congrats on your weight loss. Having to play medication tetris is not fun
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Why did you decide to do 7.5 mg for 3 months?
There are a few reasons why I decided on 3 months.
1) In researching I read that there is a plateau that happens at around 60 to 72 weeks. This happens because your body sets a new weight set-point and gets used to the medication. Once you’re on 15, there is no where to go to get a stronger dose.
I’ve seen so many people that have been on this medication for some time, warn against moving up too fast because there is nothing after 15. So I’m just slowing down as I continue to lose weight. My hope is to get to 10 and hang out as long as possible. That will give me 12.5 and 15 to move up to if I start to plateau.
2) Using my insurance and the savings card, my out of pocket is $25 for a months dose and $25 for a 3 month dose. So a 90 day script costs me the same as a 30 day script
@@RoundMoundofZepbound will you move to 10 after your 3rd month of 7.5? Or will you give it 3 more months?
My plan is to jump to 10 in May and stay there as long as I can. Hoping to get at least 6 months out of 10
