    • @abe5156
      @abe5156 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OHOE1 I made this comment over a year ago; and at the time, this was the only board that sounded and felt good but was also a METAL case. Yeah, there were cases like the kbd67 lite, ikkk68 aurora, gmmk pro, and the tofu, but none of them met the 3 most important enthusiast principles at an affordable price. Yeah, now we got the qk65 and all. but this board is still great value for its price today. Price, quality, and value are all relative anyway. For instance, I consider $400-$500 on a DIY kit alone to be cheap (Given the quality warrants the price that is), but it may to expensive for you. But that's a whole rabbit hole of debate in itself.

      the design is open source, so you can take the design, add your own logo or brass weight to it, then get a one off made from a chinese factory for less than 100 dollars. This allows you to get it in aluminum anodized in whichever color. For the PCB you can use a h60 pcb for around 40 dollars. Gasket is 1 dollar and bumpons are 1 dollar as well.

    • @JBBell
      @JBBell ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sensuku Well this is super late, but you don't need to toggle anything. The VIA/QMK firmware allows you to program modifier keys (alt, ctrl, shift, etc.) so that tapping them does something different to holding them down. So e.g. on my bakeneko60, the four modifiers to the right of the spacebar are left, down, up, and right. And the left control is Esc when tapped. And they all behave as normal if you hold them down and hit some other key.

    Without the case and plate foam, does it give that hollow sound? you mentioned it in your video but I'm wondering how prominent that is.

    • @barackobama6822
      @barackobama6822 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't put case foam, but idk about plate foam. From what I hear and others hear the backspace and right shift is a bit hollow and the left side of the space bar is rattely because of the clip in.

    • @jimmynguyen973
      @jimmynguyen973  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barackobama6822 i prob couldve lube that left side of the spacebar more to get rid of the ping, but yes those keys can be a bit hollow sounding, but it doesn't bother me that much (but could for others). there is about 5mm of space from the bottom of the case to the top of the mounting points, so i think you can put in some thin case foam (but it’ll prob reduce flex)

    How does this board compare to kbd67 lite?

    • @jimmynguyen973
      @jimmynguyen973  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest difference between the 2 is the case: do you want a metal case, or a plastic one. Do you want a 60% or a 65% (altho there is a 65% bakeneko coming)? In terms of sound, I think KBD67 will result in a thockier sound due to the silicone.
