A thing about low level range is how you can play around with your stats and extensively expand your toolkit for nothing but fun. Sacrificing some vigor and some AR in order to have access to literally every weapon class and many fth/int tools allows you to draw maximum enjoyment from a single character. I imagine some people would argue that's not a "build". To which I would reply: exactly, that's the point. Low level can mirror max level in stat distribution, but all the damage is toned down and the fp consumption becomes tactical. Imagine that! It would be the best version of this game's PvP if the scaling of phantoms wasn't so chaotic.
you have to be careful though, as at a certain level you can only use status effects as your weapons don't have enough damage to kill the over leveled phantom with erdtrees blessing and Blasphemous blade
As an invader myself, it's kinda nice to see some seemingly honest low level invaders, i've made a build specifically that sits low level to kill majority of invaders because majority of low level invaders are boring super sweats with rot pots and all the other nonsense
I just started a new character that is my “no teleport challenge run” and it’s been super immersive. Essentially all it is is I can only teleport using in world teleports, not sites of grace. The only exception is going to the round table hold. RIP Rykard, Mogh, and Malenia fights.
They are indeed better due to the lower damage output across the board. You can fool around a bit more and even try parrying. At high levels you die in a second
I invade at lvl 45 with +8/+3 and it’s actually really active. the only problem with invading at low level is the host can summon their overleveled friends that destroy your health bar while you barely leave a scratch on them. very satisfying to pull it off though.
Fairly quickly yeah. A lot of people get rogiers rapier or the upgraded banished knight halberd at this level, which start at +8. I would recommend going to RL 40-44 though
I would love to see that as well. The wait times at this level were not bad at all. It depends mostly on the time of day. If I play mid day, I get almost instant invasions. Late nights can be 10 minute wait times
When I low level invaded all I did was do joke invasions. Either a friendly invader who loves you or a drunk hobo. Then someone gave me stacks upon stacks of high level runes and I promptly skipped to level 200.
I only tried level 20, 40 and 125 invasions so far and I like level 40 the most. 20 just feels too much like bullying puppies while 125 is just two guys spaming ashes of war in a small cave while one guy chases you down with great spears. the op phantoms are not nearly as bad as getting moonveil/blasphemous blade/ruin greatsword every two seconds in the face
@norn-sama3407 I couldn't agree more. I would also recommend 150-200. At that level you can create a variety of OP builds to level the playing field and cheese other players. I've been having some fun at those higher rune levels. I might try to upload some of those invasions soon here.

It was originally at level 30, but I needed the 3 extra levels to wield a certain weapon (I don't remember which). I had to fight with my ocd as well haha. I thought about putting it to 35 but I really wanted to invade down to level 30. Good question! :)
im brand new to the game and tried to invade... turns out its not a good idea if you dont know where any items/ashes are because you just get destroyed by sweaty phantoms haha
There's a few weapons and ashes of war that are a must for invasions. I would recommend watching some high-level pvp content like chasethebro or jeanine for some ideas.
i dunno, man.. downscaling is worse at lower levels since high-level phantom can still pretty much 2-3 shot you even nearing 40vig (was invading at lv27 +3unique). Meanwhile, it takes 4-6 hits (with bleed/frost proc) for you to kill them. i'll invade at lv137 next, but i wanted to experience the full clown circus that ER is at the low levels first. i've heard/seen youtube videos of people being able to at least kill higher-level phantoms just as quick as they are killing you, since they hit diminishing returns damage-wise.

@@PseudoNym13 it's not as fun by just killing the host than eliminating the phantoms 1 by 1, you know? Max level phantom gankers that can 2-3 shot you at 10-30 level range are very few, but they do exist. Very fun when you do kill the bastards tho.
@@nel7505 I got one yesterday that was level 630ish based on the 250000 runes he dropped. Church of elleh dual magi bullgoat summon. With TT on so theyre farming low level invaders too. Host just stood there and didn’t move.
If theres a chance to be able to invade higher/lower levels and weapon lvls at random i say lowest possable level with most items gives most advantage.
At low level you either get lil jimmy and lil timmy beating the game for the first time or a squad full of overleveled phantoms. There's no in between

So true. Overleveled phantoms are still a big problem but i guess that's what we get for invading low levels lol

I’ve found that the downscaling works wayyy better at low levels before it stops completely
