Hi, I just ordered a sabre, but I feel it is not to my liking, how should I modify it. I ordered it on an e-commerce platform because it is easy to get customs clearance, I expected it to be curved but it is straight like a rapier rather than a sabre, should I customize it, curve the sabre and make the tip heavier or just shorten the blade? Looking forward to your reply.
@thonau_712 what make is it. I wouldn't recommend changing things too much. And never reheating steel if you are not sure what you are doing, as it can mess with tempering.
@@sarimnerhistoricaleuropean5242 It seems like the 2 comments containing the link to your reply have been deleted, in general it looks like an olympic competition sabre, at first I thought it was a HEMA sabre, after trying a few things like sparring, dodging, the blade is bent to one side, I'm asking a blacksmith near me if they can make another sabre, since seeing your videos I've been motivated to get a steel sabre, the synthetic material like blackfencer is fine but the steel blade is something else entirely
@@sarimnerhistoricaleuropean5242 to be honest i really wanted to order a steel sabre from blackfencer, especially the 1796 pattern for light cavalry, but the shipping cost was double the order amount, and it was too risky to get clearance from customs, i asked a unit that specializes in shipping goods from spain to vietnam and they answered like that. so i had the story of ordering the olympic sabre on the e-commerce platform, and now i'm a bit disappointed about it, i'll have to spend a lot of time at the blacksmith in the future to get what i've always wanted.
