- Just another quick video with the new GoPro Hero4. This time you can join me in the cab of this insanely loud beast. The truck is a 1985 GMC Brigadier with a Detroit Diesel Silver 6v92TA @ 350HP. The transmission is a 9 speed direct Fuller Eaton. Exhaust is dual straight pipe 6" stacks.
*Note that around the 1:38 mark or so a cute little Dodge Cummins with a bed stack drives by. I couldn't hear him, but I saw the smoke come out of his stack when he revved up.
I like how he operates the air inlet lever on his console to let some fresh air into the cab now that's old school
I love the sound of a Detroit diesel engine. A specially a 6v92 awesome sound always loved to ride in one
Those were the good old days when trucks were trucks. Good sounding truck. Nice video.
It Sounds So Good with The 6V92 Detroit Engine!
Awesome sounding Detroit! Pulling into the station to buy her a drink. Every one there was going "Holy cow - look what just pulled in"!!!
Got a 79 gmc myself with 6IL-71 but that 6v-92 is racking out like a champ Thank you for sharing
I was wondering if that Cummins Ram driver at 1:47 was even going to notice what was about to pass him...and then he did me proud to acknowledge you with a wave. Good of you to repay the wave with a wave and a couple of blips of the throttle. Sure, two totally different breeds of oil burners, but true fans should respect all breeds.
My first driving job in 1988 company had a fleet of the Chinese Brigadiers name plate on em said Hua Tung with 318 Detroit's w/9speeds and straight pipes. They were fast and fun to drive, like a sports car, only got 3 to 5 mpg, early 90's got new Freight shakers w/Detroit 60 series the fuel savings alone paid for the new trucks.
best sound on earth never too loud either the louder the better
man i cloud sit in that cab with you all day and listen to that while you drive..
Man what a beautiful machine. I dream of having one as my daily. Thanks for sharing, really felt like taking a ride in one. So cool.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video.
This is how a rig is supposed to sound
Good sounding Jimmy.
I could swear you are driving that truck in Kingsport TN. starting from behind Olive Garden and stopping at the Kroger gas station for fuel.😁
man that thing sounds awesome!
i would love to have this, and turn it into a 4x4 camper truck that'd be sick
Absolutely brilliant video man I just subscribe to your channel and I know this is an older video but if you can will you please do more exactly like this one only a lot longer because I love that six 390 to stay safe man and have a great day
nice share bro !
Luv them old sing a song s
Love that sound nice truck.
Who needs Syncros anyway? lol this is rad
the way a detroit is supposed to sound...mean..thanks for sharing
sound good
Sounds like a V12 Italian supercar but better!
no
“…and with a little soot, now and then.”
That a boy no clutch!!!
Yeah. I usually only use the clutch when starting or stopping. Non synchronized transmissions are supposed to be double clutched (one depression of the clutch to remove from gear, another one after to input into next gear). Although on rare occasion I will double clutch, I find it more trouble than it is worth and if not done properly then it can cause more stress on the drive line components.
+MotormasterK100 Why not just get an automatic at that point? Just turn the key, hit the gas pedal and go down the road. No muss, no fuss. Easy. Whabam!
SalandFindles Turn in your Man Card immediately, "driver".
SalandFindles If you have to ask, you’ll never understand.
Just be patient , the engine and trans will sync up by themselves . Usually it is going to be a long day so let the truck do the work don't rush it
Quisiera tener uno asi😢🚛😍😍
3:48 Diesel for $2 a gallon... but hey, no mean tweets right?
I love your truck man. Do you still have it? I'd love to go for a ride in that machine.
Thank you! Yep. Just put some brand new batteries on it. Look for some more videos in the coming months!
@@MotormasterK100 awesome. Glad to know you've still got it.
Uuuuuf 💪👏👏👏👏💪
To drive one of those, is a CDL Required?
Dylan Meinhardt it varies from state to state. my state allows for this type of truck to be classified as personal use and doesn't require CDL.
MotormasterK100 i live in Illinois.
to my knowledge you can drive an 80k loaded truck without a cdl if you aren't doing it commercially but for personal use. If you aren't receiving any means of compensation you can buy one and drive it. But compensation could be something more than just money so generally it's best to just get a CDL unless you can prove it's just for personal use
Can 6v92 be swap into a truck?
Yes but not a pickup. Unless it's a one ton with no hood
What year is the truck?
1985
Now why can't my dad's 7.3L sound like this...
Because it's not a 2 cycle Detroit lol.
They don't call them screaming Jimmies for nothing!
Navistar 7.3 l is the old Ford Diesel. Powerstroke. They went down hill when they stopped borrowing them. Ford used to run the GM Detroit 4-53. I bet they were a nic
What size exhaust? Straight pipe
Hi! 6" straight pipes.
What was that at 0:15? u let some air intake for the cabin? Man i gues u are popular among neibours, u are waking up the entire neibourhood with that thing.
noobsound , yep, fresh air intake
That's what's up when I moved to my new place I got nothing but honks and waves when came down the road all were older military and truck farmers
Needs a Pontiac steering wheel.
give her
Estamos atrasados
10 speed or 13 speed looks like a 10
More like an 8LL
Definitely neither a 9, 10 or 13
GMC Brigadier trucks the sordomud
I have the same year same engine Brigadier. but it's an ex government truck so it has an Allison automatic. my truck fires right up then shuts off. then starts while giving it throttle. and sometimes shuts off while driving. any ideas?
Why no change down on the move you can't slog em keep her singing
O sesi dinlemek için para verebilirim ama Türkiye'deyim.
Used to drive one let me tell u what it was a gutless piece of crap was in the shop more than on the job
Andrew Slabaugh , wow. Either you had bad luck or I have some good luck. My Brigadier has been a great truck with tons of power. Other than blowing an old radiator hose when I first bought it, I've never had any trouble with it.
Another keyboard warrior. Pay no attention to him. Gutless, huh? I did an engine swap in a '76 Ford LN-800 to a 6V53 and the whole drivetrain from the flywheel back was broken up in 6 months. By month 8 the balance of the truck was Detroit-proof.
Los carros son ensordecedores y dejan sordos a todos
