    Your knowledge of pumping fluids is outstanding. Great job on the tank and the video.

      Too bad I didn't have some pictures of my first homemade sprayer when I first arrived here in 1986 which would bring a LOL. Worked ok for all those black ant mounds and small trees but was pretty crude! No pump, just an air tank to pressurize a fluid tank trailer unit. Nowadays those quad 4 wheeler rack mound tank 12v setups are pretty nice for not a lot of $ ;>)

      That is a big time saver compared to the smaller units I built in the past. I did have a 2 cylinder diaphragm 20 gpm pump on that before the 3 cyl one. Tried multiple pumps thru the years and really love those diaphragm ones v/s gear or roller ones.

    Thanks for adding the end. When you describe this two things come through. You dislike the idea of not thinking ahead for ease of service and repair which shows you repair things for a living. Second only a car painter pays close attention to switch spray patterns plus all nozzle tips. They go back to someone familiar with carb jets and injection nozzle tips. I would say you set up NOS systems too.

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My favorite advertising campaign saying from years back was BASF. "We don't make the products you buy, we make the products you buy better" Or something like that! Really enjoyed your write up. Never dabbled in NOS but do have something to add. Many years back before NOS I had an 350 Honda cycle. It was idling without an air cleaner. The torch was near by with the brazing tip. Put it in the end of only 1 carb, turned on the oxygen and the engine went to 3,500 rpm immediately. I was wondering how long an engine would last at the drag strip on that! Take a beater and hide the bottle under the back seat, LOL

      It did take years and money spent/wasted on things that didn't work very well to get to this point. That's why I like doing these type of video's to show everyone what is available in hopes to save channel viewers some $ on their builds and eliminate some guess work. Thank you for your kind thoughts & hope you stop by again Chip, Jeff.

    great video and tips.......... but what are you spraying the trees for besides watering?

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the pines were brought in with a tree truck. The smallest ones were 6 feet. I trust everyone and some were quite infested with gall and aphids. Proper timing to get rid of gall is critical or the pesticide would be a waste. I would recommend everyone to research this tree stuff before purchasing a bunch of trees. Lets put this mildly - I paid my tuition!

    could you tell what to use on weeds .as I would like to make some up and then use it .what is needed and the recipe. thanks

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. For the weeds in the lawn I use 24D. I buy it in a 2.5 gallon bottle. It's concentrate and is only around 40 bucks and lasts many years. It is available in 1 gal too. For under the pines to kill everything I use Roundup. I buy that in 2.5 gallon container from a farm co-op. Around 90 bucks. For those prices it don't pay to mix stuff up that don't last or work as good. Beware -The big box stores get 40 a quart for Roundup, 20 for the diluted concentrate. Way too expensive, robbery without a gun!

      The boom is the fold out piece attached to the back of the sprayer. It is used for weed control in the lawn.

    I see this is an older video but I'm curious what psi you run at to spray your pines? I'm needing to spray my pines for beetle and have some pretty tall trees. I'd say 50 or so feet. I can't figure out if a roller pump would handle it at 250-275psi and around 10gpm.

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jason. I used those roller pumps years ago. NOT impressed. I can reach the top of the silo with the 3 cylinder diaphragm pump I have now. I set it around 225 psi. That pump is rated at 29 gal per minute. Why so big when I only have a 55 gallon. tank? That makes my rig very impressive just off of idle. Fuel and wear and tear savings very nice. Cant remember what tip I have in the gun (its big) but it really works great, get done much faster with this setup, time is so precious to me.... back to work.

    2Jeffs 1 - This is a fantastic video and build - just like all your others. I just bought a used Kubota B7510 and would love to build a rig like this. Is there any possibility of you listing all the pumps and valve part numbers that you used, for us less talented fabricators?

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem Joe. The pump is a Hypro model D115. I purchased that valve assembly from a local farm supply store. Hypro model MV - 46305 1.3.MPR.

    hey jeff nice job building the sprayer what kind of pump and valves you are using ,i will love to build one myself to spray some oak trees who are about 60 to 75 ft tall thank you very much in advance

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pump is a Hypro model D115. Bigger is better like on an air compressor pump to avoid the - I wish I would of's. I purchased that valve assembly from a local farm supply store. Hypro model MV - 46305 1.3.MPR.
      The gun I would recommend is that long one is best for distance. Ritterhouse has a lot of useful products on their site and where that came from. mkrittenhouse.com/us/ Seems I might of bought that pump there too.

    • @slokytheone
      @slokytheone 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      2jeffs1 thank you for the reply how high up can you spray the trees around here are 60 to 75ft tall

    • @2jeffs1
      @2jeffs1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If there is no wind I can get to the top of the silo. Best guess that is 50' The pump is capable of 300 psi. I usually spray from 200 to 250 psi so 60 - 75 might be possible @ 300 psi. Not aware of any better setups for that distance you are trying to reach.
