As a melodic death metal musician and huge death metal fan, I think this album helps to bring melodic death metal back into the mainstream metal conversation. Most of the melodic death metal that has been popular over the last 15 years has been more on the melodic side of the spectrum. I am hoping the success of this album brings out more of the death metal side of the genre.
I wasn’t expecting it to be such a repeat spinner. We had the promo for weeks before and I still can stop myself spinning it whenever I get on Spotify.
I love this album. Spot on that this is some arena type shit! Iam NOT a melodeath fan honestly but the way theyve gone about this is so refreshing. And honestly without the production being so huge sounding it may not work as well as it does. That swedish DM guitar tone and huge drums make the melody so much heavier and enjoyable. Well done GATECREEPER!
Gary totally agree w you about Chase’s big snarling highs When he belts out “DEAD STARRRRRRRR” it makes me want to take up my bastard sword and slay a fucking goblin or two ⚔️
melodeath how? it's stoner rock with guttural vocals. listen to at the gates or dark tranquillity then listen to kyuss and let me know which Dark Superstition sounds more like.
