In February of 1945 the US and Great Britain firebombed Dresden for two days. Much of the city was destroyed and tens of thousands were killed. It was a very controversial attack. My favorite American writer, Kurt Vonnegut was an American soldier who was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a prisoner of war being held in Dresden. The prisoners were held in an underground meat locker in a slaughterhouse. His famous book "Slaughterhouse Five" was inspired by his war time experiences. Dresden has plenty of history. Thanks for showing the rebuilt city.
