- This is how I rank the Six Flags/Cedar Fair parks based on their roller coaster collection POST merger! With parks like Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, Cedar Point and Kings Island all in the same company, ranking the parks will be difficult! So, how would you rank the Six Flags parks based on their roller coaster collection?

I'm glad you mentioned X2 as the standout for Magic Mountain. It really is pure insanity. I'm sure I'm in the minority but it's my favorite coaster in the new chain. But even if you disagree, it's definitely the most unique thrill coaster in North America and one of the most extreme. That said, I do think Steel Vengeance is objectively the best coaster in the chain if it's possible to remove personal bias and taste from rankings like these.
So fun with half my body dangling out of the ride, feels more like flying than a flying coaster
I live all the way in New York, and X2 is definitely on my bucket list. I NEED to ride it, or at least a clone of it if they make one.
I also think X2 is above steel vengeance
SFOG should be in the top 10. Not only it has a solid coaster lineup, they have Monster Mansion, in which is the dark ride that many coaster enthusiasts say that it “should not be at a SF park” but is there anyways.
Well, I do agree with you. That monster mansion is awesome but I’m just basing this off of a roller coasters.
The smaller parks do have some charm to them I must admit

American Eagle is at Six Flags Great America. It’s Screamin’ Eagle that is at Six Flags St. Louis.

I think it's a fair assessment of my home park SFMM to say the operations are a bit rough. It's really the one big thing holding the park back, but their coaster collection is incredible and will be even better soon. X2, Viper, Twisted Colossus, Wonder Woman FoC, Tatsu, Scream, Apocalypse, Goliath (if they'd pull back on the trims again), Full Throttle, Batman, Riddler's Revenge, Ninja, West Coast Racers, Superman... I think most parks around the world would be incredibly happy to have just half of the SFMM collection.
I previously ranked Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Kings Island as my top three coaster parks.

Another great video, Brandon! Just booked a two-day trip to Cedar Point literally an exact week from today with my family (July 15 to 16) and I’m glad to see I’m in good hands at the park. Lookin’ forward to Maverick, Fury, Valravn, and especially Steel Vengeance. Not to mention some great flats like WindSeeker, Lake Erie Eagles (that one not as much as the others), Power Tower Shot, and Cedar Downs Racing Derby! Your videos helped a lot! Thank you!

TT2 is most likely done for the season at this point. The best case scenario is that it reopens during halloweekends

Same. Been there 21 times so far this year. Probably on track to hit there over 50 times this year. Not only being an hour and a half from CP, but I'm about 3 hours and 45 mins from Kings Island. And per park experience, I'd rather be at KI. CP for the rides, KI for the park. Doing KI this weekend.

I went to Canada’s Wonderland and I liked Wilde Beast even more than Vortex, it has such good airtime and the roughness isn’t painful
I feel so grateful to live in Cincinnati. To be only 35 minutes from kings island. And just a 4 hour drive to cedar point, I have such great access to some of the best rides in the world. We actually just got home from cedar point, and it was my first time getting to ride Steele vengeance. My expectations were so high for that ride, and it did not disappoint.
Thanks for shouting out Thunderbolt; the most underrated at SFNE IMO. I wanted to love Superman but I got a lackluster ride on it. I absolutely love Wicked Cyclone.
I got an amazing ride on wild one at sfa and it's so good it's better than superman, I absolutely agree with wild one.
La Ronde is kind of odd in if they'd sell their lease for it or not. On the one hand there is a local consortium that'd be more then happy to take that lease off their hands who have experience with small amusement parks and larger water parks. On the other hand the park is the only one in the chain with an on site tooling facility that played an important role in maintaining some of the park's roller coasters and may be supplying other parks in the chain with parts.
Poor Frontier City. When your stand out coaster is an Arrow from the 90s you know things are bad.
I feel bad for Airtime Thrills as it’s his home park. That being said, Steel Lasso is a bucket list for me. That also being said, Steel Lasso and Silver Bullet are the only coasters attracting me to the park.
@Troy-jc2ko I'm not familiar with Airtime Thrills, but he/she has my sympathy. I count myself as blessed to live between Cedar Point and Kings Island. I joke about Frontier City and Michigan's Adventure, but I'd still like to give those parks a visit.

I’m grateful to be part of the few that lives SO CLOSE to six flags Magic Mountain. X2 is the greatest coaster I’ve ever ridden like it doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been on it I never expect which way the cart is gonna flip

When V2 (now The Flash) opened at Six Flags Great America it definitely had a holding brake on the back spike.

It’s outrageous that since the merger, Six Flags now operates a total of 26 parks, it'll be cool to see what kind of investment that the company will give to them over the next few years. 🎢🚩

1. Canada's Wonderland; number of roller coasters: 18
2. Six Flags Magic Mountain; number of roller coasters: 20

5. Kings Island; number of roller coasters: 15 (With coasters like Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, The Bat and Adventure Express, it’s no wonder that this park is the place to be in Cincinnati)
6. Kings Dominion; number of roller coasters: 14
7. Carowinds; number of roller coasters: 14
8. Six Flags Fiesta Texas; number of roller coasters: 12
9. Knott's Berry Farm; number of roller coasters: 10
10. Six Flags Great America; number of roller coasters: 15
11. Six Flags Over Texas; number of roller coasters: 14 (A ride like Aquaman: Power Wave would be a perfect fit for other park around the world.)

Raging Bull is my favorite roller coaster ride at Six Flags Great America but Goliath is awesome too

This is way off topic, but does anyone know when SFOG puts on their website the ability to purchase tickets to Coaster Fest on the 17th and 18th of August? They had a little something up, but as of right now there isn’t anything. It would pair very nicely with National Roller Coaster Day with Fun Spot Atlanta on 16th of August. I want tickets ASAP.

So.. every time you visit each of the USA parks do you rent a car ? I’m from Mexico and I find it hard to visit the parks without a car, because of the giant parking lots and the Uber’s not willing to take you all the way inside the parking lot to the entrance of the park.
In the US you need a car. Rent it. Unless you have dependency issues. Then Uber.
Rent if I am flying somewhere or drive my car

I actually prefer Six Flags Magic Mountain over Cedar Point because of how diverse their ride lineup is. I wonder if that could change, though, as I'm going to Cedar Point next week and then to Six Flags Magic Mountain next month.

It would be great if an ambitious company would purchase some of the lower tier parks and treat them as priorities instead of afterthoughts. Those parks could be standout regional parks if they got some respect and investment.
Agreed nothing compares to Cedar Point as far as coasters come
railblazer is NOT the standout ride at CGA, it was my homepark for 4 years and its gold striker. No question about it. easily beats worlds of fun and sf mexico. sf great america also clears fiesta texas by a lot
Gold Striker definetly looks more appealing than RailBlazer, especially when RailBlazer is a prototype. The park is definetly better than WOF and SFMexico.

Kings Island is my home park. I'm really hoping they get something great to fill the old Vortex plot. Whatever they get, I hope it has a lot of inversions in honor of Vortex, which had the most in the world when it debuted.

Glad to see Magic Mountain at #2. It seems that the Midwest and East coast parks get more love but it is the thrill capital of the Western US.
Former Darien Lake ride op here, Ride of Steel is completely unable to run two trains anymore as they scrapped the second train some while ago. Having talked to maintenance it's highly unlikely they'll get a second train back because it'd have to be custom made by intamin. Apparently their newer trains aren't compatable with ride of steeel track and It'd cost the park millions. Based on current attendance it's not worth it for the park financially unfortunately.
That’s disappointing. The remaining train had some rows out when I was there in August.
I wish I got to experience Copperhead properly but I rode nighthawk before hand. The combo set me in the first aid and I only remember the station and jojo roll 😢

@@AuburnFanSince2010 Magic Mountain, Fiesta Texas, and Great Adventure are better than Kings Dominion. As are Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Carowinds. Kings Dominion has 305 and is a pretty standard park after that.
Even CW has 3 solid coasters before it’s mediocre. Not sure why you think Dominion is so great, it is right in line with CW in my opinion. Even a park like Dorney has a more solid line up of coasters they just lack a stand out. If we are talking in terms of how pretty a park is or the ambiance then I agree with you that it’s near the top but ride wise it is not.
Six flags parks aren't theme parks. They're amusement parks
Well, given the fact that they have themed areas and rides that are usually due to those areas, I would consider them theme parks to my opinion

I went to great adventure last Monday and el toro honestly sucks, I rode second to back row and it does have great airtime…. But it was just wayyy too rough to enjoy
Discovery Kingdom should be higher tbh.
Wish I could have experienced Superman with the old restraints, they completely removed any enjoyment I would have experienced on that coaster.
Help me I’m a coaster fanatic but even with Dramamine I get so so sick on roller coasters! My new hometown is valleyfair while old hometown was Great Adventure! I downsized but still enjoy valleyfair!
Ps I rode el toro in 2006 and kingda ka in 2005. Those are my fav coasters next to Velocicoaster! Velocicoaster is #1. As the years go by I get sicker on rides 😂
If Kings Island got a bad*ss ground up RMC or Intamin multi-launch then I would call it #1.
Darien Lake has 8 coasters. They have predator. tantrum. boomerang. Ride of steel. Viper, mind eraser. Motocoaster and a kid coaster hoot n holler.

Seriously, we’re not gonna talk about the new addition at Six Flags America. They did a whole new area and revitalise the old wild West into steam town add one new ride redid the old mind eraser and updated. The trains are really trying to make improvements on the park. Don’t sleep on it.
That is the worst park I’ve ever visited. And, they haven’t gotten a new roller coaster for how many years?! Just sell it for the land and demolish it. I’d rather go to the State Fair.
@@Gheestarr every park have their operation issues give up on any park just off one bad experience or because they have not gotten a new rollercoaster I have spoken with the park manager directly during the 4th of July event he well aware of the issues that the park have and trying to fix that they have gotten two new rise this year one in a waterpark the other in the new area that they revitalised me being a Baltimore native I’d rather make the half an hour trip to an hour to go to my home park for a day with my kids and travel almost 3 to 4 hours to another parked. It is overcharged tickets and season pass that my opinion

I do not agree with SFGAm being as low as it is. It's a top tier park. I also don't agree at all with Goliath being the standout coaster, it is not. Raging Bull and Maxx Force are the two standouts here, as Maxx Force is the only S&S air launch that's fesiable to ride, as every other air launch is in China, and ring racer I doubt will open again. And Raging Bull is the only hyper-twister in the world, which I don't get all the hate for it, as it provides just as much airtime as Nitro for me. I've been on all of their coasters hundreds of times, and can definetly confirm that Goliath is not their standout. Yes, topper tracks are rare, but not a one of a kind experience that Maxx Force/Raging Bull provides.
I have to agree. I think that SFGAm deserves to be in the Top 6 at least. Raging Bull is the standout for me and I always ride it multiple times a year. So far, I have ridden Raging Bull once (would’ve been twice but ride broke down) and Goliath 0 times. Wouldn’t dare to think about riding it.
SFGAm is my home park and i agree it is top tier. it may seem low, but think about the number 9 ranking this way. he ranked it above carowinds. and carowinds has fury 325. i also STRONGLY disagree with goliath as the standout, imo x flight is the standout just because it is one of few b&m wing coasters, and it has very strong near miss elements, and is one of the smoothest ride experiences ever. but uhh dont overestimate the park, i love it to death but top 6 might be pushing it a bit bro.

sfgm is my top 1 favorite park not bc it my home park but it soooooooo good for a coaster line up and raging bull is a top 1.

I'm in IL so I am at 6 flags grate America but American eagl is good and big drop max force is short ride tho and joker

the boss at six flags st lious is the worst ride, my mom felt horrible she cried after it because it was so roguh, its spo fast and it actually hurts because of how fast it is and its the worst coaster i ever rode do not ride it;
me wondering why six flags america is not 26 or 25 let alone in the top 20....
how the hell with all of these parks swallowed up is six flags still not in florida.......or remotely close to it...RIP SFNO....( im not forgetting about Georgia and Carowinds they are still 200 miles from florida.

@TP_Recommendations all good.. you show St. Louis love every time, and I appreciate it. It's a great park. We lack a hyper coaster. Freeze is the only coaster, but that's a 218' spike. This is my home park, and I've always appreciated it, but it took me to move to NYC 14 years ago and visit Great Adventure! 🤯 I fell in love with Nitro! The 2nd half of Eltoro 🔥🔥🔥 and the intense launch of Ka.. opened my eyes. There's so many other coasters to experience!! But please, continue to promote the boss being rmc'd! 🙏🏾I go almost every Sunday. Idk if you've visited this year, but Boss is running much better this year. They did tracking and changed the wheels. I love the front seat, but once it's re-imagined, it WILL be a world-class coaster.
I really wish a lot of enthusiasts had the opportunity to ride Boss before the 2nd helix was removed. That alone affected the 2nd half. Had they not, more people would understand how Great the Boss is.
This list definitely prioritizes quantity over quality. Have to say I'm disappointed by the lack of thought and creativity in here. Six Flags over Texas is great in the family coaster department, but it's woefully underpowered for thrills. Knott's should NOT barely crack the top 10, and Dorney and World's of Fun's lineups aren't below average. It's **unfathomable** that you'd rank Canada's Wonderland ABOVE Six Flags Great America. 😧 And while KD might have a better lineup than Carowinds when their launched wing coaster opens next year, they still have Anaconda skewing it down. (Which is unquestionably far worse than the older, simpler Carolina Cyclone.) Also, there's an argument to be made for Great Adventure and Kings Island to take the top 2 slots given the crap inflating CP's and MM's coaster counts.
Iron menace is far better than Steel Force IMO
I would like to respectfully disagree. I believe the airtime on steel force makes it better than iron menace. IM has one good drop, a couple of repetitive inversions, and then it’s over.
Iron Menace is at best 3rd, maybe 4th best in the park. Was not impressed at all.
@@patrickwagner6247 I’ve ridden 5 dives, the 3 cedar fair dives and the Busch dives, and iron menace is #2 behind Yukon striker. At Dorney the only coaster I’d entertain being better is Superman, which is next door
I love Steel Force. For me, it's my favorite ride in the park. It's just floater airtime galore the whole ride, and it's fairly long. The laterals on the turnaround is also very unique for it's ride model, making it my favorite in the park.

You’re giving Dorney too much credit. I used to work there and loved it, but at only an hour away I’ll choose Hershey, Knoebels and Kennywood Everytime. Many of the Six Flags parks that you ranked lower, I feel have a better coaster collection. In the same vain, I think Knott’s, SFGAm should easily be in the top 5. You’re also a little crazy for ranking Cedar Point or Magic Mountain’s coaster collection above SFGAdv. I don’t go to that park anymore, though all their great coasters were there on my last visit 10 years ago. Cedar Point was Cedar Fair’s overrated park as SFMM was Six Flags overrated park.

Great list, I think SF Great America is quite a bit better than Canada’s Wonderland. Most things at Great America are good/great and Canada’s Wonderland has some real duds.

Generally the list is good. But King's Island is 100% better than Magic Mountain. King's Island is the 3rd best park in the country behind CP and Kennywood.
Kings island has nothing that tops X2 and falls short in quantity and quality

Canada Wonderland and Carowinds are so overrated as amusement parks.
Their only overrated because most of their rides are terrible, the only thing that makes Canadas wonderland and Carowinds underrated are fury and leviathan
Both are really top heavy. CW might be better if they just took out coasters 😂 - Flight Deck for instance
