Christianity vs Spirituality Consciousness

  • Is Christianity and Spirituality two different things? Are each at odds with the other? It all depends on how you define Christianity and Spirituality. If you are a Christian literalist then you will most likely view Spirituality as something to be feared.
In truth the apparent division is an illusion and only born within a construct that is false.
Most religion points to a high level of consciousness, but the participants rarely transcend the carnal way of living from mental constructs. Like a finger pointing at the truth, it's easy to confuse the pointing finger for the truth. When we fail to leave behind the written and spoken ideas and step into the place of silent union with the creator of all, we miss all the glory the finger is pointing at.

Great video! I so relate to you! I’m “Christian” but I am also “spiritual” if it had to be defined. I wish there was more Christians who were open to spirituality and higher consciousness.

Spiritually is for oneself you don’t need a group or place of worship. It’s up to our selfs to raise our vibrations to raise our consciousness.

I do not disagree. As a Christian our goal should be Christ likeness. We are made in God's image and are of that same energy and power. We absolutely must rise above this world.

You helped me soooooo much!!! This year I learned so much about the awakening and raising of consciousness, but could really grab it's meaning. When Christians I listened to online said that spirituality means NOT believing in God, or not living as the Bible says you should live, it didn't feel right, it didn't make sense to me. I never had the feeling that I disconnected from God through meditation or anything and I felt like the 'religious way' would put chains on me that I obviously wouldn't feel comfortable with.
Hearing you was so freeing, thank you
It's only the beginning for me, so I'm excited for whatelse I will discover

Finally someone who thinks like me 🌿I feel like I can go to bed in peace tonight. I was very confused thinking that you can only choose one thing and I always have that empty question in the back of my head - what if this choice isn’t the only answer to life. I have been a Christian all my life and I seem to have disconnected from it and went to new age but I still believe in the Bible. The key is finding a balance to everything.

Mark - I just found your channel and I am impressed with your honesty and your heartfelt attempt to help people understand the disconnect of religions and their inability to help the masses navigate this seeming conundrum we call life.
*All* good honest religions try to come to terms with the duality of man. And as you said, most are quite ineffectively operating on a lower level of consciousness, because the leaders of these religions teach at a lower level of consciousness.
This duality as you know is man existing as a spiritual being that is used to the connection of the Loving Universal Consciousness (God), finding itself living on a physical plane seemingly disconnected from everyone else here...it is not a natural state. If you have a good loving family it helps tremendously in traversing this experience; if you grow up in a toxic environment, the experience can be frightening, and too much for many and they turn to addictions to lessen the confusion and the apprehension.
Jesus is a man...a very enlightened man who understands this duality and 'planted the seed' that life on this Earth is an experience, and *only* an experience, nothing else. It is not who we are. That is how and why he 'healed' the infirmities that he did. He raised the *believer's* level of consciousness to a place above the affliction.
We are not these physical bodies, we are not our desires, our frailties, our prejudices nor our fears. All these qualities are part of the experience. When Jesus said, "the Kingdom of Heaven is within you", he was making two statements: The first is that this is just an experience; if it gets to be too much, look inside for the answers. And the second, this is not who you are; let go of the physical domain and explore *your* spiritual domain. The only way I know how to do this is as you said, meditation.
Very interesting about the two baptism types, I never gave it much thought before. Water is a physical environment, one that many organisms live within, but we cannot. To allow yourself to be immersed in water by another is a symbolic representation of letting go of this airborne physical plane through trust. Fire on the other hand is not a life giving environment by our terrestrial standards, in fact it reduces everything organic to relative non existence. I see this as a willingness to metaphorically let go of this physical body and it gives the person being baptized permission to explore the Spiritual side of our duality; to see who we are beyond this experience.
Great video! I hope there are more.

I definitely feel like Jesus and the Christian God go hand-in-hand with spirituality, for the most part! I believe that religion has severely missed the mark and has strayed far from the actual goal. I’m still figuring out where I stand on many things that are commonly found in spirituality as some of them were specifically warned against in the church... such as kundalini yoga and tarot card readings etc. I’m eagerly learning more during my spiritual awakening and very thankful for people like you who help inform us newbies!

Things like Tarot cards etc are not inherently powerful of dangerous, it's the idea of making something else into a system of knowledge to keep you busy in your own will and effort. There is only two states. In union with the father, or living from the tree of knowledge. I will be releasing a workshop on my channel about this soon.

I appreciate your unbiased opinion. I have always had a huge passion and interest in the concepts of raising ones vibration and overall conscious level to reach this state of enlightenment. I am a Christian and have grown closer to him since this quarantine. I found that a lot of my interest and beliefs were start to revolve around the idea of New Age Religion. But I still miss when I used to meditate because I felt like I was striving to better myself spirituality and my consciousness more than I now since I feel like its looked down upon. Is there a way to be both a Christian and still meditate to strive raise my level of consciousness reach this state of spiritual enlightenment or be awoken even more in Christ

    • @Prime.Consciousness
      @Prime.Consciousness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Absolutely! But define "Christian". The problem is that depending on the doctrine of the "Christian", you may or may not be a "Christian" under their definition. I would say that if you want to define yourself as Christian, that's up top you. Who is to say that you are not? Show me a definitive definition, of course one does not exist. :-)
How do you think Christ was able to do, say and be the Christ? It certainly was not just because he was claiming to be the son of God. He walked on water, converted matter from one form to an other, teleported, multiplied matter. Do you think he could do this in the level of consciousness that you and I exist in? He was SO SURE of who he was, and who he was in relation to the father and that he was NOT flesh and blood, he could bend the very fabric of matter. He calls us to follow him. Doe that mean only to suffer? Did he not say to those close to him that they would do greater things?
Spirituality is only a label, the goal is beyond labels and words. To be Christ like. Christ like is to have "the mind of Christ" which is a poor way of saying the internal state of Christ. Adam n Eve, lost the union with the father and made the lower level of consciousness, where knowledge served as a pseudo god directing their lives. This eventually lead to religion which was the knowledge about God. Christ came to destroy this living from knowledge way, to show what is possible if you live from a union with the father spirit.

A lot of people like to see themselves as spiritual, but quite often the term is used in a very simplistic way. We have to ask ourselves questions about the things we don't see and we need to explore the world in a more open way without restrictions and we don't need religion to do that. The first step towards a more "enlightened" form of being is to know who you are and what you connect with. It's as simple as that.

Hi Mark, Hope all is well. My friend who believes in spirituality sent me this because she is currently on her journey to find the truth about what happens once we die. As a Bible thumper, here’s what I have to say about your points in the video. Feel free to dm me I would be more than happy to talk about this. God bless!
The example he made about the finger pointing doesn’t make much sense to me because, as a Christian, the finger is pointing to God. We are not able to reach His “level of consciousness” but we are called to grow our relationship with Him, which through spending time in His Word and prayer, it gets us closer to Him. I guess you could say we are raising our “level of consciousness” in doing so.
He then talks about growing up in a Christian country and going to church, but he never said that he’s read the word of God, sought after Him in prayer, or tried to devote himself to Christ.
Next, I agree that a lot of Christians falsely represent Jesus with their judging and other sins that they continuously do without remorse. I also agree that they tend to focus on the “little things” about Christianity, instead of the main point that is focusing on their relationship with God.
He can’t say that Buddhism and Christianity can both point you into “higher levels of consciousness” because only one can be true. They could both be filled with knowledge, but only one is the truth since they contradict in many ways.
You think as Christians that we are in a “low state of consciousness” but what if as a Christian, I am just in a realistic state of consciousness, because I realize that God holds knowledge that I am not able to even fathom. So I do as He says and do not try to “raise my consciousness” as that is the sin that Adam and Eve fell into. Satan tempted them into eating the forbidden fruit because he said that it would make them into gods and give them God’s understanding. In a sense as Christians we do try to raise our consciousness, because we are to strive to be as Christ-like as possible.
Lastly, I don’t know what else signs God can give you! I literally read Mark 1-3 today and wrote down the verse bc I thought it was beautiful. It doesn’t say God baptizes with fire, but John the Baptist says, “I baptize with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” When you have the Holy Spirit in you, you have the strength to stop these sins, bc you have Him. Warning others that their sins will lead them to hell is a true sign of caring for that person. That warning plants a seed in their heart telling them that they need to get right with God. You should cry out to Him and ask for help with your faith in Him.

I actually do appreciate your comment because it's thoughtful, honest and real. Most "Bible thumpers" will just cut and paste a bible quote from their translation of choice and tell me to repent or I'm going to their hell. I could spend an hour going over the illogicality of Hell, the problems with poor translation, the influence of Catholics upon the Bible, the fact that Jesus never spoke English, so you are trusting a Man got it right. And I know how badly they have translated some passages. Key passages at that. This would be a LONG conversation, for which I have spent many years studying. For another time perhaps. :-)
You may be surprised to know that I honor Jesus greatly and I do believe that Jesus showed the example of the only way to God. I just don't translate that as, becoming a Christian (who claim to be the only representatives of the truth of Christ). Jesus never said "the only way to the Father is through Christianity and saying a confession prayer" he clearly said "Through me". So don't confuse my criticism of mainstream Christianity, as a rejection of Christ. You might even say, I'm unhappy with Christianity solely BECAUSE of the gross misrepresentation of Christ. This gross misrepresentation causes a LOT of damage in my opinion.
Now most "Christians" upon hearing this would claim that I'm not following Christ, because I don't see things the way their Church does. But this is a statement right off the tree of Knowledge. They are essentially using learned doctrine ( the interpretation of their particular denomination) to dismiss my personal experience. This is arrogance that can only be born out of believing in a superior knowledge ABOUT Christ, instead of a relationship WITH Christ.
In my "spirituality" (which is just a label), I frame my understanding fully in the story of the fall of man and the need for Christ, BUT! I do not frame it in the same way as modern Christianity. And if you do some research, you will find that the modern idea of a retributive God, needing a sacrifice to not be angry with us is a relatively new interpretation. Known as "Penal Substitution Atonement". Whereas there was another view known as "Christos Victor" held by early church fathers. This is an absolutely key story and has lead to two very different understandings. If you are interested in this subject more, I recommend the book by Derek Flood, 'Healing the Gospel'.
I bring up the vast difference in interpretation of the key story of Christ and the fall of man, within Christianity itself, to make a point. It's not about adhering to a doctrine or even a belief, it's about finding that which I believe Christ pointed to. A return to a relationship with the father. My contention is that Christianity has created a relationship with words, knowledge and ideas ABOUT the father, and if you have a relationship with knowledge (live from the tree of knowledge), instead of a personal relationship with the father, you are staring at the finger pointing (the knowledge) instead of what the finger pointing is trying to bring you to (not knowledge about the father, but connection to the father).

Labels are tough right? because one person may interpret the label differently than others. For example there is a wing of Christianity which is very spiritual and I have a lot of them following me happily on facebook. Having said that, I do understand your point, overall it's accurate when looking at mainstream Christianity.

    Lot of conjecture here

    • @Prime.Consciousness
      @Prime.Consciousness  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The "issue" with spiritual subjects is it will always look like conjecture. I'm pointing to things that can only be experienced personally. Of course in a 20 minute video I'm going to make a lot of generalizations also. My intention is to make one key point which I could summarize in 30 seconds. Problem is it's so concentrated it may be lost. A person can only do the best they can with the words that come to them at the time. I don't script my videos apart from one. Summary of what I'm saying: the real you, the inner you, that which is beyond matter and time, is a part of the infinite prime consciousness that gave birth to all matter. We are born into a physical reality and are convinced that the physical reality of our body, thoughts and feelings are indeed all we are made of. I dispute this belief. We are at our core, pure consciousness and when the physical ends the consciousness remains. Religions of all kinds function and operate in the realm of physical emotions, feelings and exclusively mental formed concepts ABOUT spirituality. A concept is then used as if it is the thing which it is conceptually representing. [The punchline] But to focus on the concept, is to miss the wordless state just over the border between concept and being seated in consciousness. Consciousness is the same as spirit in my teaching and that is the real us where all information ultimately is experienced. The question is; does physical reality mesmerize the consciousness into believing it is the physical reality or does the attention move back into it's seat and snap in alignment where the attention and consciousness are in the same locality. This is the purpose of spirituality.
