Another engine saved! Great job on the whole series. I think the customer will be very happy with the end product and i think the head looked really good after painting. It looked pretty scabby before.
Great project and something to be proud of. If the rest of the bike takes a while to finish, the engine could have pride of place on the mantle piece 😊
Best line of the series... "Now ready to pop in the frame and be riding down the road within a couple of hours" Comedic timing and delivery were faultless!! 😂 Sufficient to say that the frame and running gear are not quite ready for that first glorious run! Hoping you might be able to "help out" eith some of the rebuild on that front! (Help out in the same way that you helped out with the engine!) Thanks for the amazing work on the engine Dean it's a right beauty ❤️
eyup Dean you've done a grand job of the rebuild, enjoyed the watch and seeing it come back from the potential scrapman👍👍👍👍 see you next way You might have to explain to many viewers what a "Shilling!!" is😄😄🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣😉😉👍👍 regards Kev
Absolutely superb series. It has really showcased the depth and breadth of your skills, knowledge and expertise. You are THE go to man for these machines. Grandad would be so proud. And he is. I know this. Now it needs to run - have you anything in mind for a test stand? Perhaps one could be built with a fuel tank, controls etc with mounts for the engine. Could be a useful item. As for the finished engine, "aaahhhmmm shuuuwaaaahh the laaaaad will be ha'ppy with it....
@@carlwilson1772 thanks, it was enjoyable to do. I do have some plans for a test stand, which would incorporate everything required to properly bench test.
One of the Bantam's i built. Not sure what model as I have done quite a lot many years ago. The head i fitted was a George todd. That had a central spark plug hole. Also I never knew they ever used a concentric Amel carb. I thought they were Monobloc. ???. Or has someone upgraded it. Great video Dean. Steve.
@@cainbeeping8480 I need to get out and ride the blue bike. I don't get a lot of time. I've had a lot of bikes over the years, mostly larger stuff. I had a Yamaha TRX850 until a few years ago.
Good work Dean, is that a Standard bantam head? I see it has an annular squish band and central plug, I fitted a George Todd head to my last bantam which was very similar. Phil
@@philhermetic Thanks Phil, the later Bantams had the centre fire head as standard. BSA were trying to wring the last drop of performance to stay marketable. Best wishes, Dean.
