I go back and forth about this all the time; The first anime's direction and overall atmosphere was spot on with the original storyline from the manga. But it also had a few plot holes and ended the story in a sort of sloppy manner. Brotherhood's atmosphere is all wrong to me....it's too comedic and action focused. But the overall storyline, adhering closer to the manga, is better. GAH.
@MarioKing67 Geez. You don't have to call it the "fake FMA". The writers of Fullmetal Alchemist the anime were given creative liberty to make their own story line and ending because the manga hadn't gotten very far yet so they didn't want to wait for the ending and be forced to make filler episodes, much like Bleach and Naruto have has to do. And technically it is the "original FMA anime" because it CAME FIRST; it's not the "true" or "correct" anime, but it is the original anime.
Really, because i thought the first anime was pretty sloppy, with around the 2nd half being the most noteworthy. Besides Lust and Envy, most the homunculus felt poor compared to their Brotherhood/Manga selves. I thought throwing around forced drama and dark points for the sake of being "edgy" hurt it instead of improving it, especially when Dante (terribly written villain overall) and Anime Wrath were introduced. FMA03 (to me) comes off more "decent", while Brotherhood was amazing by far.
“You have dared to knock on the door, now the door is open.” “There are some lines you really shouldn’t cross.” “It all begins very soon.” Chills. 😳🥶🥶🥶
By chance, would anybody know what track this is? I'm faiiirly certain that it comes from the Brotherhood OST, itself. But, like most, naturally, I wouldn't have the slightest idea which one it would be.
@IzumisChild I call it the fake series because the plot had nothing to do with the manga and I already knew that it came out first I just don't like calling it the orginal story. PS: Everything that you explained to me I already knew, except for why they didn't make the fillers, so now I know why they never made fillers.
The first anime isn't the original because it's not the original story so that makes Brotherhood the original story, because it follows the manga, but the fake FMA (first FMA) was a good series.
that final shot of rose and the brothers is forever seared into my brain from this promo. 6th grade was so long ago..
I remember this when I was young and carefree.
Same, I'm looking for the AS FMAB promo where Ling says he needs the philosophers stone to provide for his people lol can't find it.

It’s funny bc the trailer Adult Swim made makes it look like the atmosphere is just as serious as 2003 when in reality it really wasn’t.

Back when adult swim was cool
This version was better than the first one

@GreedLin Brotherhood is much more in depth than the original and is a far better show aside from al"s voice being changed.
@GreedLin Have you ever READ the manga?
@GreedLin How do you mean?

But the 2003 series is still the “original anime” because it was produced first
@@c.a.whodat Ayo that’s crazy. Totally forgot this comment existed. 2003 is still a goated anime
