as for how the jumping only sometimes works, when you jump the lower half of your body gets i-frames. It still connects, but does no damage. After the jump animation is over and you're dragon-breathing, I would assume those go away so now it connects and DOES do damage. Don't ask me why they made it this way. I don't know all the specifics either, I just saw it in a zullie video. Also, Azur's glintstone staff makes incantations faster too if it's in your off-hand. Radagon icon and Azur's staff together gives (I believe) the same level of benefit as beloved stardust, but without the damage penalty.

Hello Doom! I think I've some tips that may help you in future Radahn fights: For the earth eruption attack, in phase 1 you can delay your dodge and dodge the slam forward so you end up behind him. Few steps to the left and the eruption will miss you. This is more stamina efficient than dodging 2 times, and it gives you a longer punish window, but this doesn't work in phase 2. For the lion claw attack: if he runs away then does it, he can't do a follow up. If he was far from you and slammed the swords to the ground when he starts the attack, then he might do a second one. For the meteorites throw into clone attack: dodge the swords slam to the left and then do another dodge to the left and starts running backwards. The meteorites will disappear before reaching you and the 4 clones will miss (you can heal here) and you need to dodge the 5th real Radahn.

A consistent way to deal with Radahn's second phase meteor attack is when he goes into the air to launch the gravity meteors, start running the opposite direction of him (Towards the camera), when he launches them, roll or jump to the right, whichever you feel most comfortable doing and keep running diagonal right. As-long-as you're running diagonal right, all of his clone attacks will miss you, don't even have to worry about rolling, the only part you have to roll is the final hit when his real body attacks. Yeah, so the Radahn rot thing is: In phase 1, his rot resistances on consecutive procs are 326/368/466/756/1213. However, his phase 2 resistances are 734/1024/1481. What happens when you rot him in phase 1 is that it usually tics down pretty much all the health he has in that form, then transitions, cleanses the rot (which typically causes you to lose out on a bunch of damage) and because he was rotted before, you get the increased resistance in phase 2. So rotting him once in phase 1 is super easy because he only has 326 rot resistance, which you can inflict in a single hefty rot pot, but if you try to rot him a second time, you'll have to do 1024 rot buildup, so his rot resistance more than triples. There's an argument to be made to just never bother rotting him in his first phase and instead getting in the one rot you actually have a realistic chance of inflicting in phase 2, so you can actually get a maximum of damage out of it. The weirdest thing is that they gave his phase 1 so many resistance cycles, since I don't think you can realistically get those off. Like, the only way that could theoretically work is if you were to immediately blow up the rot with the Poison Flower kick Ash of War since that does 5% of max health + 250, which if you had a rotting tool that did little to no damage could maybe do just about less than the 35% of Radahns health that are phase 1. Anyways, using that kick on Rot is a waste anyways imo, since the DoT will do so much more damage than the Cleanse explosion.
Thanks for the explanation! I just have been slightly more explicit in the video I rotted him in phase one to see if it would carry over, after it didn't, I never rotted him in phase 1 again, so I _only_ tried in phase two, but because of his increased resistances and aggression I wasn't able to do it haha
I think the reason the jumping is super inconsistent with the breath attacks is because of how jumping to dodge actually works. Jumps don’t give you s, they just disable the hitbox of certain body parts while airborne, allowing some attacks to be dodged, but they don’t disable parts like the hands and upper torso which leads to why sometimes jumping while wielding/two handing certain weapons seems to be better than with others. I don’t know if the dragon form even disables the hit boxes but even if it does the hands are so low to the ground during the cast animation it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up being the reason you got hit by a bunch of ground based attacks like Relanna’s moons and whatnot
8:20 for those curious: thats couse the initial jump has s allowing us to dogde that withaout those (like staying in the air) we get hit hope it made it clear
thanks for the explanation! It's just unfortunate we lose the s while staying in the air, I mean, those attacks are slow give us something From Soft haha

One tip for radahn's dashing-clone attack. You can walk into him and it will do no damage. He doesn't even have collision and it's a very forgiving area.
When you jump the lower half of your hitbox disappears until you land. Im guessing when you cast the spells they just shift your hitbox upwards. Basically jumping requires them to hit your torso, casting lets them tickle your toes and slam you into the dirt.
jumping makes the hurtboxes on your lower body go invincible, but i guess the timer on that has a limit, that runs out while youre casting the dragon spells which is why ground aoes hit you
To answer your question the best I can, you gain s in your legs when you jump. So your hitbox is just your upper body. Once you cast, you lose those s and your legs have hit boxes again. As far as the inconsistency, I think you just happen to cast at the peak of your jump when you don't get hit and cast at a lower point when you do. But that's just a guess
With Rellana's full Moon. Jumping works that it removes the hitbox from everything below your waist the moment your feet get off the ground. The dragon incantation doesnt have that effect and that probably makes the Moon explosion hit box clip your toes and hit you. Same with Putresence Knight ground flames
@@DoomWolfOfficial Presumably. Though that may need further testing. I feel like I've been hit more times when casting over attacks instead of jumping, but can't say for sure
4:27 I did know where you were going with that joke but as soon as you finish I look at my phone and laugh I had unsubscribed and resubscribed back your jokes are gold sometimes 😂
Relana has a unique hit box for the moon attack it can hit u even the air if the way you were in the air wasnt a jump only jumps specifically can dodge it i think its because the wanted to give the cool triple hit animation does that happen
When you jump, all of your lower half of your body gets invaluablity frames from the time you bend your knees to when you land but if you cast you lose that
@@DoomWolfOfficialim not trying to be mean, but i have no clue how you play the game so well but don't know certain simple things like this and the conditions for the ensha invasion. on the topic of Metyr i recently found out you can avoid the spiny laser attack if you start far enough away by running far enough for the first laser to barely miss you and than immediately run back so you go under the second one. (alternatively use vow of the indomitable on a shield)
@@DoomWolfOfficial that may be due to you being *just* high enough from the combined jump + areal breath cast for the attack to not touch your hitbox. on a completely different note: roundrock stronk, make the caveman roundrock the DLC.
Radahn gets an enormous buff to rot resistance ( and only rot, not the other statuses, those are all already at the same values as phase 2 rot ) during phase 2 ( the lore of it most certainly is Miquella warding off the outer god of rot's influence, like he has tried to do since forever ), more than doubling the base amount and most increases ( though it has less increases total, leading to a difference of only 268 between the maximums, on NG )
I don’t know If they patched it,but Radahn’s meteor attack(where he jumps up and slams back down as a meteor) can be cheesed by jumping 4 times. He’ll simply then teleport to the ground next to you.
I think the reason that you get hit while casting midair spells is because when you jump normally i turns off the lower half your hitbox (you may already know this) but the spell dosent turn off half your hitbox, and fromsoft might have made the damage boxes on the attacks just barely low enough to jump (idk if they did or not, i just noticed how many boss attacks were harder to jump then base game and made a guess)
Perhaps, I know in previous titles at least the upper and lower animations are handled by separate process, idk if it's the same for elden ring, but maybe casting simply cancels out the invincibility on legs who knows (I was jumping then casting 99% of the time lol)
By the blood of my ancestors, that is one of the most cursed titles (and intro bits) I've ever had to endure, commiting sudoku would not be enough to cleanse you from this sin... I'm impressed, good job :)))
If you play back the footage with the knight you can see the flames go up to hit you and I think the game is saying your not really jumping just on a higher place so the flames are going up to track you
8:24 I'm not sure, but I think I know what happened here. When you jump, you get invicibility only for your legs, so I assume using a dragon breath spell midair doesn't let you keep that smaller hitbox and the moon slam hitbox was just really tall. I assume it's the same thing for Puketrescent knight. I'm probably just spouting gibberish though
1. You got hit because you werent at the maximum height of your jump, even if a single frame too late, thats why you got hit by ground attacks 2. You couldn't do your air attacks because you weren't two handing the talisman
Fun Fact for anyone fighting Consort Radahn: When he does the holy nuke slam in second phase, if you jump in a steady 1-2-3-4 rhythm right after he takes off, his AI glitches out for some reason and he just teleports in front of you in the recovery animation for the slam. No nuke, no damage. Do with this info what you will. So far as I know, this still works as of the most recent patch at time of writing this comment.
This is exactly how I've beaten Radanh on my first playthrough! I was suffering for 3 days trying different things and setups but finally came to what I have started with. I remembered who I truly am - a drake warrior. Bite his ugly ass to death with Dragonmaw! It's not worth it trying to rot him because of his high resistances and how fuckin' slow the spell is. I just traded hits with Consort using hyper armor of Dragonmaw dealing 4,7k damage per single cast. After the cutscene I just poised through his holy explosion to stun him for a free extra bite. Then only 1/3 of his HP left and the rest was the matter of survival and luck. Finally I managed to dodge his orbital strike and after 3 more lucky bites Radanh was defeated. A true drake warrior I am!
I made a dragon spell, paladin type build that uses the breath attacks. I run into the issue where I can’t jump and cast all the time. I have no idea why it happens but boy does it fuck over entire attempts
When you jump your legs have I frames. Spells or skills that lift you up don't give I frames so many attacks will still hit you. Hope that makes sense. Also in the radahn fight when he grabs you could have mawed or rot breathed as when airborne he can't grab you. You take some dmg but it's worth.
it does but iirc I saw someone use placidusax ruin to hover over the whole putrecent knight attack, maybe it was a mod lol (also I jumped before casting so it...only sort of helps? lol)
@@DoomWolfOfficial when you cast and "get hit", but receive no damage, then the hit box didn't touch you. In Relanna's fight, when you jump you don't receive damage, but the AoE licks ur feet, which have I-frames. When you jump cast, the I-frames end and the AoE can hit your legs.
Ok, I think I know about the Probly with getting hit by ground attacks using the dragon attacks. While rewatching the footage I notice u were dodging some but only while rising from the ground, the moment u charge the breath I think ur hitbox extends to the ground
Time to "erm acktually" cause I'm pretty good at dragon communion 1: I feel like you should've used the rock heart more while transformed. I did a dragon build my first playthrough for dlc, This is gonna be fun to watch, especially bayle. Edit:Nice bayle kill, I used dragonmaw, broke poise, gave face full of rot, and did some work on him.
when you jump you actully get i-frames so if i had to guess when you jump and cast there are no i-frames that come from the jumping so that would mean why you could hit
When you jump the lower half of your body becomes invincible for the whole animation allowing you to get over those ground attacks but when you use those spells your body is fully vulnerable so you get hit
With the jumping thing regular jumps give you intangibility on the lower half of your body, when you jump cast dragon spells that intangibility goes away so the hitbox has to be actually low on the ground and fromsofts hitboxes suck
So, Doom Okami-sensei has a new kouhai, huh? Tsk, typical! I thought I could be sugoi enough to win his kokoro, but evidently he likes that other kusogaki more!!

fun Gaius fact, his charge can hit you through blocking with a shield, unless you use the perfect guard tear (and get the perfect guard)
That's...not a fun fact (well the first half anyway lol)
I think the reason the jumping is super inconsistent with the breath attacks is because of how jumping to dodge actually works.
Jumps don’t give you s, they just disable the hitbox of certain body parts while airborne, allowing some attacks to be dodged, but they don’t disable parts like the hands and upper torso which leads to why sometimes jumping while wielding/two handing certain weapons seems to be better than with others.
I don’t know if the dragon form even disables the hit boxes but even if it does the hands are so low to the ground during the cast animation it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up being the reason you got hit by a bunch of ground based attacks like Relanna’s moons and whatnot
fair explanation, thanks!
The TRUE Yandere Sim we all deserve.
EDIT: S-Tier dad joke, truly. I am enraged and subbed.
Lmao from soft made yandere sim before Yan dev
And thanks!
17:20 Its just the hitboxes being shite
most sane response honestly lol
18:00 I’m pretty sure that the weird chest/stomach region takes more poise damage so that might explain the 2 versus 3 hits to stagger.
I think you are correct!
@@DoomWolfOfficial Wow you are really the best content creator out there Doom to reply after two weeks from uploading a vid 😅, but yeah I wish that the hitbox wouldn't work like that too it would give us a lot of sick dodging potential
So who's going to tell him that beloved stardust and radagon icon and increasing your dex doesn't actually up the casting speed for dragon communion spells
I feel like someone commented this way back on my original video too haha
You're one of the coolest youtubers i have seen, just because of your skill and engagement with your audience. Every comment i see has a reply from you, amazing vids and would love to see more sekiro gameplay
Thanks my friend :) I try to respond to everyone because talking to people is one of the best parts of making a video! and I do wanna do more sekiro, soon tm lol
One tip for radahn's dashing-clone attack. You can walk into him and it will do no damage. He doesn't even have collision and it's a very forgiving area.
really? nice, i'll have to try that!
@@DoomWolfOfficial You actually get a decent few seconds of downtime. Almost enough to catch your breath before they start bulldozing you again.
Wait until Alyx finds out that other people in multiplayer can transform into dragons as well...
I'm just happy you remembered the name of the character because I didn't say it in this run lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial Deeeeefinitely didnt had to go to the original video and check xD
When you jump the lower half of your hitbox disappears until you land. Im guessing when you cast the spells they just shift your hitbox upwards. Basically jumping requires them to hit your torso, casting lets them tickle your toes and slam you into the dirt.
But I jumped and then cast, so ..casting potentially overrides the jump? That sucks lol
I’m super happy to see another vid keep up the good work
Thanks my friend, i'll do my best!
jumping makes the hurtboxes on your lower body go invincible, but i guess the timer on that has a limit, that runs out while youre casting the dragon spells which is why ground aoes hit you
That sucks lol
Doom you should do a Coded Sword only run. Honestly good weapon that basically every required boss resists to the nines
Id be down lol
To answer your question the best I can, you gain s in your legs when you jump. So your hitbox is just your upper body. Once you cast, you lose those s and your legs have hit boxes again. As far as the inconsistency, I think you just happen to cast at the peak of your jump when you don't get hit and cast at a lower point when you do. But that's just a guess
hmmm, most rational explanation, thank you, it drove me wild lol
With Rellana's full Moon. Jumping works that it removes the hitbox from everything below your waist the moment your feet get off the ground. The dragon incantation doesnt have that effect and that probably makes the Moon explosion hit box clip your toes and hit you. Same with Putresence Knight ground flames
Since i was jumping and then casting in midair, does that mean casting just removes the invulnerability?
@@DoomWolfOfficial Presumably. Though that may need further testing. I feel like I've been hit more times when casting over attacks instead of jumping, but can't say for sure
Comparing a T-Rex to a Tank is wild.
You're right I guess I should have compared the tank to an Ankylosaurus lol
When i did the dlc it had the glitch where promised consort died on stairs
that sounds hilarious
4:27 I did know where you were going with that joke but as soon as you finish I look at my phone and laugh I had unsubscribed and resubscribed back your jokes are gold sometimes 😂
Lol trying to up my joke game, glad you enjoyed it :)
Relana has a unique hit box for the moon attack it can hit u even the air if the way you were in the air wasnt a jump only jumps specifically can dodge it i think its because the wanted to give the cool triple hit animation does that happen
huh, first i've heard of it lol thanks for the info!
The problem with not being able to cast while jumping may relate to which hand you equip the seal in. Maybe the right hand gives off problems.
Perhaps, which would be a really weird thing to debug lol
When you jump, all of your lower half of your body gets invaluablity frames from the time you bend your knees to when you land but if you cast you lose that
that is unfortunate lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial I know, but I don't play like that so I'm unaffected
The reason why metyr stance breaks were inconsistent is because she takes 50% more stance damage (and normal damage) to the belly
neat, that's good information to have haha
@@DoomWolfOfficialim not trying to be mean, but i have no clue how you play the game so well but don't know certain simple things like this and the conditions for the ensha invasion.
on the topic of Metyr i recently found out you can avoid the spiny laser attack if you start far enough away by running far enough for the first laser to barely miss you and than immediately run back so you go under the second one. (alternatively use vow of the indomitable on a shield)
by the looks of things: you casting a dragon communion spell is actually turning off your jump i frames, causing you to get hit.
That..sucks lol but how come I went over other attacks, just..lucky whiffs?
@@DoomWolfOfficial that may be due to you being *just* high enough from the combined jump + areal breath cast for the attack to not touch your hitbox.
on a completely different note: roundrock stronk, make the caveman roundrock the DLC.
Radahn gets an enormous buff to rot resistance ( and only rot, not the other statuses, those are all already at the same values as phase 2 rot ) during phase 2 ( the lore of it most certainly is Miquella warding off the outer god of rot's influence, like he has tried to do since forever ), more than doubling the base amount and most increases ( though it has less increases total, leading to a difference of only 268 between the maximums, on NG )
interesting, I also enjoyed your lore speculation too :)
I don’t know If they patched it,but Radahn’s meteor attack(where he jumps up and slams back down as a meteor) can be cheesed by jumping 4 times. He’ll simply then teleport to the ground next to you.
Lmao what, that's hilarious, and also terrifying
We need a Dragon Tail Swipe, akin to the Crucible Tail sweep. Like, the dragons can do it, why can’t we?
That would be pretty cool, especially if they gave it knock back properties lol
After hearing the lines at 13:36, I know I need a Doom Wolf ASMR video.
lmao, well glad you like my voice!
It only gets worse from here my friend ;) lol
Sudoku? I think you mean seppuku
@@dragonmaster3030 I didn't want to write the real word or it in English, I don't feel comfortable with that being explicit.
Yeaaaaa dragon sinpai!!! What a video to eat breakfast with, I hope you have a good day Doom
and I hope you have a good one too my friend :)
If you play back the footage with the knight you can see the flames go up to hit you and I think the game is saying your not really jumping just on a higher place so the flames are going up to track you
based on them climbing up a wall, maybe that is what happened, then again you can normally jump over it so, idk haha
This seems to be the community consensus, which is unfortunate lol
3:56 what a hell of a description
That's what I was amazing for ;)
Really good job on this, very commendable, fun video to
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)
For the jump dodge casting not always working i think it is just that jumping gives i frames to your lower body while i could bet that casting dont
I think you're right, which is unfortunate that it over rides it or doesn't at least keep it lol
basically, on jumps, the lower half of your characters body gets i frames, and i think the dragon incants might cancel it out
That...sucks lol
1. You got hit because you werent at the maximum height of your jump, even if a single frame too late, thats why you got hit by ground attacks
2. You couldn't do your air attacks because you weren't two handing the talisman
You had me in the first half ngl lmao
I dont even know how to progress war thunder
how to progress war thunder? like...you just play the game? haha
I loved the original and this is just as good I love your vids doom btw amazing job in the oneshot contest
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks! :)
An actually fun fact, I appreciate this haha
Love how in almost every video you make a fool of Bambi. Even with no walking he was still easy 😂
they should have made bambi a threat lol
Nice! GG fellow drake warrior!
That golem snipe was crazy
def surprised me lmao
Un-fun fact, Gaiuss charge have i-frame
that is absolutely not an unfun fact, agreed lmao
I made a dragon spell, paladin type build that uses the breath attacks. I run into the issue where I can’t jump and cast all the time. I have no idea why it happens but boy does it fuck over entire attempts
I would assume it's just a glitch but honestly I don't know haha
When you jump your legs have I frames. Spells or skills that lift you up don't give I frames so many attacks will still hit you. Hope that makes sense.
Also in the radahn fight when he grabs you could have mawed or rot breathed as when airborne he can't grab you. You take some dmg but it's worth.
it does but iirc I saw someone use placidusax ruin to hover over the whole putrecent knight attack, maybe it was a mod lol
(also I jumped before casting so it...only sort of helps? lol)
If you jump, your legs get invincibility frames. When you cast the frames end and your legs get hit.
but then how do I dodge _some_ of the attacks? just...lucky misses with the hit boxes?
@@DoomWolfOfficial when you cast and "get hit", but receive no damage, then the hit box didn't touch you. In Relanna's fight, when you jump you don't receive damage, but the AoE licks ur feet, which have I-frames. When you jump cast, the I-frames end and the AoE can hit your legs.
You can jump the Twin Moons because jumping gives you I Frames, that's why casting Senpai Spells didn't work to avoid them
But I jump and then cast, so, casting just...turns on the hit boxes? That sucks lol
Jumping doesn’t give I frames, it just greatly shrinks your hitbox
Ok, I think I know about the Probly with getting hit by ground attacks using the dragon attacks.
While rewatching the footage I notice u were dodging some but only while rising from the ground, the moment u charge the breath I think ur hitbox extends to the ground
so basically the jump behaves like normal, but when i cast while jumping, it just..overrides the jump?
Creepy dragon stalking, serial killer plot line. Very nice...😊
thanks lol
Smooth video like always, cheers from Germany
Thank you my friend you too :)
Time to "erm acktually" cause I'm pretty good at dragon communion
1: I feel like you should've used the rock heart more while transformed. That's a 20% buff for no fp
2: Bayle's Tyranny is better than flame lightning, since it has less charge up, and more hyper armor
3: why not greyoll's roar? It's a damage buff/defense buff.
lol I accept the erm acktually
1) true, I really should have, I just didn't wanna get blasted in the middle of a fight for standing there locked in place lol
2) I did not know this, as even now I have not used it lol
3) because I used that in my rip and tear video _waaaay_ back when the game came out. and I sometimes a real stickler for 'not using something ive used in a previous challenge', tbh there is no way of knowing that without having seen the other video so I don't blame you for asking lol
I did a dragon build my first playthrough for dlc, This is gonna be fun to watch, especially bayle.
Edit:Nice bayle kill, I used dragonmaw, broke poise, gave face full of rot, and did some work on him.
haha we had similar play styles for him, I just didn't get lucky with the stance breaks I guess
MIssed the 'til death do us part' line with fortissax I fear
His rotting corpse is still in my basement, senpai never leaves. Lol
CURSE YOU BAYLE
haha but Bayle is my beloved senpai, I could never curse him..
Jumping gives you I frames on your lower body. My guess is that casting removes the I frames or maybe they run out
Perhaps, though that doesn't explain how I could jump some attacks and cast, unless it was just a lucky hit box miss? idk haha
Oh my gosh that sub scribe joke was so long and bad its actually amazing xD I love that absolute goofiness
lol glad you liked it :)
when you jump you actully get i-frames so if i had to guess when you jump and cast there are no i-frames that come from the jumping so that would mean why you could hit
that...sucks lol
Jumping removes the hitbox from your legs, while these spells dont. Her moon attacks hit just a little higher up than other attacks normally do
so that means jumping and then casting just.. cancels out the jump leg intangibility? that..kind sucks lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah ikr
Metyr staggered 2 time instead of 3 sometimes bc she takes more poise damage if you hit here weak spot (the giant tear in her chest)
After scripting and VO, I watched a press continue video who mentioned it being a weak spot, and I was like "oh, now I understand." Lol
My first time through the DLC I parried Rellana to death and never saw the moon spell I'm any of my attempts...my friend wasn't so lucky
I feel your friends pain lmao
"Lemon, is that you?"
A fellow Firebomb Academy alum I see!
Indeed!
When you jump the lower half of your body becomes invincible for the whole animation allowing you to get over those ground attacks but when you use those spells your body is fully vulnerable so you get hit
makes sense except sometimes I cast and still didn't get hit. just ...lucky hit box misses then?
Finally, Senpai's ultimate form has been unlocked!
only 2 years in the making, but finally, my final form is complete lol
With the jumping thing regular jumps give you intangibility on the lower half of your body, when you jump cast dragon spells that intangibility goes away so the hitbox has to be actually low on the ground and fromsofts hitboxes suck
That's... unfortunate lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial lol
So, Doom Okami-sensei has a new kouhai, huh? Tsk, typical! I thought I could be sugoi enough to win his kokoro, but evidently he likes that other kusogaki more!!
I laughed while reading this lmao
Wait… Placidusax used to tire out after the laser?! I’ve never seen that before
Yeah, it made the fight so ridiculously easy of you got to that part, just hug a wall then he's fly into the wall and you'd be behind him and can attack for his whole laser + tire out time. It's probably in one of my older videos but I can't look through all of them now to check haha
