It's a shame that the father in law said if she says yes I'll get her married to our younger son , like she needs to be stayed married , or more like a thing getting passed on from on to another . And this makes you think why he would suddenly suggest this . Was the brother in law was somehow interested? It gets creppier .

If you don't understand the culture don't comment... Daughter in law is considered as the responsibility to grooms parents after grooms death... So to get her married again, such suggestions are given... Considering that rarely people find a fresh groom after being widow.... they may end up finding a divorce or widower, etc... But its her choice to agree or disagree.... Its not forced upon... Its also suggested more if the women is about to conceive.... So the child remains in the same family...

They have clearly said they don’t want the money but she could’ve at least let them hold the Kirti chakra which they said they would give her back. This is not how he would’ve wanted her to treat his parents. They are old. Least she could’ve done is given them half out of respect.

When someone joins army they generally put their parents name in nok ( next of kin) . When they get married it by default changes to their spouse. If someone wants to give 50 % to their parents then they have to write a letter and get it changed themselves.
since late anshuman singh didn't change the default nok, his money, awards, documents, pension and everything else legally belongs to his wife.
So his wife might be morally wrong for taking everything for herself but legally she has every write to do so .
Also she is not obliged in any way to live with her in laws so saying that she ran away is wrong .
The boy was from bihar and the girl is from Punjab and they had love marriage so there is a possibility that the parents only accepted the girl for their sons sake.
Also in one of the interview the parents said that she could marry their other son which is absurd

That girl didnt let his parents touch the veer chakra neither let them see it. This is cruel. That mother has given birth to anshuman. Do mothers have no right and choice to see the veer chakra of her son. The number of people pulling guns at the parents dont even understamd how the parents are feeling. How the mom is feeling. In this case the son itself hadn't nominated the parents. And after marriage the next of kin is immediately the spouse not the parents. As shame on the parents to air their grievances with the media. As per army rules, next of kin is added as parents and once the officer gets married it automatically defaults to the spouse and awards that are awarded posthumously goes to NOK. Regarding the AGIF insurance post death and PF the officer can allocate percentage to his family and accordingly the amount is distributed. Pension belongs to the widowed spouse. Capt. Anshuman Singh has divided the insurance money 50% to parents and 50% to wife so parents received 50 lakhs. Wife received the other 50 lakhs PF and pension which is legally hers. Then CM relief fund awarded 15 lakhs to parents and 35 to wife. Since parents received 65 lakhs in total, and the father-in-law is a pensioner (he was JCO in army) there's no moral quandary of the wife and she is in the clear morally. Legally also she is in the right.
If anyone is morally wrong here it's the parents for blaming her for husband's death, asking her to marry the brother-in-law, as well as defaming her on media after she received such a bad blow of life and lost her love of 8 years and husband. They also had some very twisted notion and told her if she marries the brother-in-law and gives birth to a child, he will be named Anshuman's child in records. I can't fathom this kind of thought process and it's toxic as hell. She is completely in the right to safeguard her mental health here.
She is under no obligation to stay with the in-laws so it's incorrect to say she ran away.

I'm a bit confused about the NoK policy. Does it cover just accolades and pensions, or does it extend to include all other monetary benefits as well?
According to what I've read, everything else can be divided except for the pension, which, as decided by the Supreme Court, goes to the widowed spouse. There's also a mention that the pension may cease if the widowed spouse's income exceeds the pension amount, though I'm not entirely sure about this detail.

    • @meghasanyal4861
      @meghasanyal4861 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@bluecotton6841 NOK will cover everything if the officer is not dividing it among others. It covers everything.
Regarding division, the officer has to divide the insurance and PF among his dependents in percentages and they are allowed to choose any percentage they see fit. Capt. Singh divided the insurance but not PF.
Pension is only for the spouse. Not sure about pension ceasing because I have also heard if they get married to someone else the pension ceases but not sure how much truth is there to it.
And another thing that comes to mind is if an officer dies unmarried then does the dependent parents get pension or not. In other government jobs even the dependent unmarried daughter gets the pension, my aunt got my grandfather's pension after my grandfather and then grandmother passed on. But there's no mention of parents in case of pension.

So she ran away with the money and kirti chakra is ok? She even went to police station to take 10000 rupees that is given for funeral arrangements which is not being done by her anyway.
She didn't even come for Shanti Puja. She didn't allow the parents to even hold the kirti chakra. Is it ok for you?
She took away all his belongings and changed his address too. He is her husband but also a son. The parents should be allowed to cherish the award too.

The parents demanding all the money would have been justified if the deceased was their only son .But no they have another son and if he gets married then the family will again be complete and plus they were receiving pension too from the govt so yes they were well settled and absolutely have no need for the money. But his wife on the other hand has just lost the person whom she had invested in completely. His parents have another son she had only one husband I hope u get the difference .She absolutely deserves most of it as she was his better half .Now a question arises if she gives all the money and the medal to his parents will they still keep her in their house, would they still treat her with respect, would they not use her like a maid to get all their needs met ,would she have any say in their house in the future now these are some things that need to be thought on 🤔

For some people who say she can remarry while his parents cannot replace their son ,let me make it clear all husbands cannot be replaced some widows do not choose to remarry and plus remarrying is absolutely not easy .Most men/women in India look only for the fresh meats and never the used ones so yeah being a widow/widower is pretty much game over in marriage. This is the case for men and woman alike.so yup her needing of financial assistance is more than his parents who have another son.Plus for those who say wife can be replaced but son cannot be his parents can go for an adoption too so yup they can get another child to raise. So stop being emotional and let’s state facts.Plus I would highly appreciate if people argue more maturely rather than always falling for mother emotion.plus I am man not a woman just to make it clear to all those who would accuse me of being a feminazi feminist etc etc.

Why change army rules? First, I don’t agree with parents coming into picture when marriage is between two adults. If one party is insecure about money, have a pre-marital agreement where everything about money both earned by wife/husband while they are alive or after death is mentioned. It can be practiced in civilians as well as in army. I have seen this happening ever among civilians. Mother in law is greedy, and over possessive about her son. She is not happy with her daughter in law further education. This shows her hatred for daughter in law. She would have made her life hell. I am happy Smriti left home and wish God give her strength to face all this emotional turmoil.
