Rob, Looking at about the 12:50 mark on the vid. I see that you have your winch rope out and connected up near the cowling on the left side. How is the hook attached up there? Do you have it up there for ease of access? I'd think that having the hook back down by the fairlead would keep it more secure. I've got a few feet of braided paracord hooked to mine and secured up on my brushguard to keep the hook from banging against anything and still allows me easier access to the hook if needed.
I have it attached with a nylon strap and I keep it tight so it doesn't clang around. Sometimes it's easier to get at especially when your front end is jammed up against something and you can quite reach the hook when it's at the fairlead. Thanks for checking the video out Alex!
@@RobFarrowATVis the nylon that the hook is attached to wrapped ariund the bar? send me the measurement from the top bar that the hook is attached to to the retracted hook..I'll also need a address.. my email is alexgnatiuk1@gmail.com
Did you consider fastening the battery leads to the winch solenoid? Full battery power at the solenoid and you could shorten those cable runs to only 6 to 8 inches, all hidden under the display console.
Question - we followed this video to install our light bar, wiring harness and relay (similar but not the exact same products). We do not want our "little blue light" on all the time creating battery drain. Are we able to NOT connect the yellow wire to avoid this? That way, the only battery drain is when the lightbar is ON but the atv is off.
Yeah, should be possible, just figure out which wire lights up the switch light and leave it off. You can also just get a different switch that doesn't have the 3 terminals, there's lots on amazon. Good luck.
With that specific Sasquatch switch, did you have to change the wiring after? Even when off the switch is drawing off the battery with the LED light on. Sure it’s not a big draw but over time it will drain the battery.
Hasn't seemed to be an issue. I do charge the battery every couple of months to make sure though...it makes it thru the long winter and still starts so I don't think there's much of a draw there.
Hey man. Thanks for the video. Helped me through the whole install. My question is I got the same set up as you and the blue LED switch stays illuminated even when my key is off. Any ideas where I went wrong or maybe the switch is the problem???
You'd have to tap into power from something that is on the ignition if you want them to shut off...I just put mine on a switch that runs to the battery so that I can put them on anytime without having the key on.
Supposedly getting 15cm of snow Thurs/Fri and temps around zero tomorrow and Fri...supposed to start warming a bit up to 5 or 6 next week but still crap weather. It's been up and down...one day rain, one day snow, one day it's 8c next day it's -5c. Snow is taking forever to melt so it's impossible to ride in the bush right now!
Great Video and very tidy job Rob. The light bar fits perfectly. I have a 12" light bar for my XMR850 (not installed yet) but just ordered a 9" light bar after seeing your video. I was thinking about wiring to the auxiliary (cigarette lighter for us old fellas) so that the light only comes on when the quad is running but I can see the benefits of wiring directly to the battery.. Just wondering if the blue backlight on the switch you have stays on continuously when wired to the battery or does the blue backlight turn off after a certain time if the quad is turned off?
Thanks Man! Good luck with your install! The blue light on the switch stays on all the time but so far hasn't created any battery drain. Wiring it to the ignition might be a good idea but I wanted to be able to turn it on at all times even when the key is off! Thanks for watching!
@@dev1925 Haven't had any issue with the battery...when the atv sits for a long period of time, like in winter, I throw the charger on it once or twice.

Great timing, gonna be installing one very soon!
Awesome! Hope it helps Mike! Thanks for watching!
It's great how cheap light bars have become. That one will help light up the trail at night for sure!
They are pretty cheap now...one of the only things that are! LOL! Gotta do a night ride this year and test it out! Thanks for watching!

Address? I just put a six inch loop around the bar where the bolts go thru and tied it. Works well.
Looks Good Rob ......
Thanks Allan, glad you like it...little bit more light now anyway! Thanks for watching!

I have a similar bar light on my quad that works off the high/low beam on the bike plus switch.. they are amazing, well work the install

What size bar clamps?
I don't recall what they were but measure your bar size and you should be able to find a size that fits it. Good luck!

No problem
Couldn't better timing hah. I'm installing a light bar on my rig this weekend but I'm just wiring it up to the high beam switch.
Nice! Good luck with the installation and Happy Trails Man!
