Slot the hole on top front of the heat sheald makes it much easier to remove and install .great videos rob keep them coming!

Hey Rob, yea glad you got into the wrap. When I did mine I wrapped end(starting point) folded edge over then used a stainless tie, then continued that kept it tight. Also I wrapped right up to flange (within 3/4”) made a heck of a difference on heat, now it doesn’t feel like the pipe, plastics, shield, etc is on fire.
I used the DEI titanium wrap, more expensive, but I didn’t want to re-do it every 50-100 hrs.

Yup, I removed that damn heat shield myself. I then wrapped my exhaust and also installed a Subaru turbo heat shield over the exhaust wrap above the clutch cover. I then left the heat shield off, and that front bolt is such a pain. I did leave a couple of the rear heat shields on on my bike thou & bolted some heavy duty aluminum heat shield to the bolt locations. I'm gonna change out all the radiator plastic hose fittings to aluminum & have a custom thermostat housing made. Yes, I'm keeping my thermostat & the bypass. Then I'll change all the hose clamps out & will be swapping out my water pump housing to a Boyesen water pump housing & impeller like you did. I'm also changing out the plastic thermostat housing to aluminum & have thought about changing the valve covers, but haven't decided to do that yet, but mine aren't leaking either, so .... and I may get my ECU reflashed myself.
Ummm, I didn't wrap my slip-on pipe, but have been thinking about it. Let me know how that does after a season of riding. Thanks for sharing the maintenance vid.
Subaru Turbo Heat Shield? Does it fit without modifying it? Interesting, does it look good? Ya, the hose clamps gotta go, they are garbage and are prone to leaking...and in my case, falling off! When adjusting the shifter and linkage. When in nuetral the shifter should come stright out from it's saddle spot and hit the tip of the little triangle. not to the front or back of it. This from a buddy of mine who rebuilds these transmissions. He is "the guy" lol has done some for some big power rigs like Blackie's renegade. good video buddy!

Check out the exo wrap. It’s better for atvs because it has a stainless mesh coating around it. Prevents it from falling apart

Looks good man. I got full dual exhaust for my quad. And I've been debating on doing the wrap or just paying a shop to cerakote it. Cerakote does the same job just alot less work Haha. But it costs more than just wrapping it.
I've heard the Ceramic coating is the way to go but that's just it, hear say! Maybe if I get tired of replacing wrapping, I'll check the coating out. Thanks for watching!

No, I never did. ATV is sold now and I have a SXS...it's hot too. LOL!

Is it necessary to use silicone spray if using the titanium wrap? I thought it was a recommendation for fiberglass.
I never had any luck with the wrap. Silicone spray is supposed to keep it from breaking down when wet. My wrap lasted maybe 3 rides and fell apart. Thought I did it pretty good too. Oh well.
Can you do another review of your machine after 1 or two years or 1000 or 3000 hours?
This will be the 4th season on it now! Might throw a little review in this year. Every mod or repair vid is kinda a review as it is though! Thanks for watching!

What was that oil on the cylinder, around that plastic nut cover??I wonder how did u sort it out, I have the same
That's seepage from the Plastic Valve Covers. I changed them to aluminium Covers and new gaskets and they haven't leaked again. The heat from the engine getting really hot, will warp the Plastic covers so they won't sit flat and will leak.
Does it cool everything down?
Didn't really do squat for the XMR and after a few mud rides it fell apart, so I wasn't really impressed with that stuff.
Well? How did it hold up?
Three dry trail rides and one ride with some water and it was done...junk! Didn't help with the heat either, total garbage!
Sad but this makes me not want an ATV. How can you be an engineer and design such an expensive machine that will burn itself down. The majority of ppl are not this in depth “skilled” mechanics. Excellent abilities but man that’s bs for a 13,000$ “toy”
Ya, have to agree with you on the Engineer designs. They have gotten a bit better but anytime they get something that works they still try and upgrade it and mess it up again. LOL! Fortunately I've self taught myself enough to make repairs and do maintenance on these machines to try and keep ahead of the game but it's still frustrating having to deal with some of this stuff.
