I saw many video on how to build rc boat like this but your video i like the most very simple and low cost to build easy to follow for beginner like to build and own an rc boat. I like how you just use string to hold the pieces together before glue it together simple and cheap jig to have .GREAT job and can't wait to see the video of it in action .
Thank you Martin for the answer, I'll try and I got God willing and post the video. Your video is very detailed, having managed to make their model, I'll try others. thanks again.
Martin......... thnks so much teaching us the steps in your proyect & all your time involved. My brother in Florida sent me a few months ago a Mast for a sailboat....with sails.....( all done by him ) for my Bday....& a note...saying.....All I have to do its the boat.........I didn't know where to start......but seeing your Video..........helped me very much. I hope to start the proyect these days.......I will sent U a photo...........................Thnk U again..............Andres ( I will be watching your Video ..on & on.. )
Thank you for your interest. Good luck with the boat, I'm sure it will go well. There is a lot of good info on youtube. I would love to see pics & vids of your build. A very rewarding project.
Very interesting Martin. I will be in Rapid City this weekend for a convention. I too am interested in Motorcycles. Specifically BMW's. About to order plans of the Ross Lillistone First Mate.
Yes you can if you use epoxy. I would try a small piece first but I have had no problem glassing the extruded foam with System 3 resin. Did a lot of it on the Jani J.
A friend on mine sent me your video Martin........truly nice work! I use the parts panels to trace out the hull parts...works well for me :) love your work.....very easy tutorial to follow!
I built this model over the winter on weekends, a little at a time, to amuse myself during the long, cold South Dakota Winter. She is pretty stable, had to forcibly roll her over to test her righting ability. You can see the test on my video on model testing.
I don't reallly have plans right now other than the ones in my video: Building the Jani J-Plans. See also Design I explain how I designed my boat & drew my plans & how you can too. The dimensions of the bulkheads are there maybe you can print the frames from the video. I am in the process of redrawing the plans to reflect changes we made while building so UI might have some in the future but I would say try your hand at drawing some.
Yes it is going to help me a lot great vídeo , i am doing a mekko 200 pm scratch build , i am trying at least but for me the hard part is fiber the hull . How can i do that without all those resins ? I think i ll just use paint and varnish
You are an artist!!! Respect. By the way you had 999 likes and with my like you reached the 1000 likes lol... I want to try and make my own boat as well..
@deangeelong Thank you, the best part was how she rode the waves at testing. Hope to have the rc stuff in by spring. Big boat will hit the water then also.
thank you .so much......i had a helicopter and it broken down and i wan't to use its sensor in a boat but i don't know nothing about scheme now after when i saw this vedio it will be easy so thank u again :)
@MrPioneermonkey Probably, but I don't know it. If it inaccessable and I can't pump it out, I foam it in. It can't fill with water if it is full of foam.
hi very nice work and well thought out. can you tell me what the putty stuff is you put on and why i am building a rc boat something like yours using the same method.
uncle..i m eswar......from india......i like making a small mini boat..........but i don't have a idea to make a boat...........i see this video and i got an idea.............i like u r style to make a boat..............
Thank you Eswar, I'm so glad you like my boat & I am sure you can build one like it. I love to inspire people to build boats & many have from my videos. I would also love to see videos & pictures of your boat. Good luck & have fun.
Great video content! Apologies for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you thought about - t.co/kQ5Ho0n9fD It is an awesome exclusive guide for building better boats without the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate at very last got astronomical success with it.?
it is Quick-Fair from System 3 Epoxys. It is 2 part & bonds chemicaly woth the epoxy resin. I just plasterit on & block sand untill I see glass. Makes it really fair & smooth. Then I use epoxy primer, then, anything.
Hello Mr Houston: Please where I could get the blueprints or plans for the model, I love the way you do sir. Is for a movie. Thanks Sir, very good artwork indeed.
I like the way you use the hi-ex. foam for reserve bouyancy, smart. The glass job looks good too. How stable is it ? How long did it take you to do all this? Fair winds Capt.
You can draw your own plans. I explain how I did it. It can be built without plans once you have the bulkheads. The plans are just a scale drawing of the boat. See Building the Jani J Design & Plans.
I am sure there are many scorces on the internet. I draw my own, I explain I did it in the video Building the Jani J-Plans. Also see concepts & design. You can also scale down plans for fulll sized boats.Thank you for your interest.
Profesor, muy bueno su vídeo. Estoy intentando hacer un barco y he tomado el suyo como guia y le agradecería mucho si me puede ayudar con las medidas. Es genial lo que construye!
See my videos: Building the JaniJ -Plans & Design. You can make patterns to build any size you want. The sides of the model are 4 in. X 25 in. The widest bulkhead is 4 in X 8 in, as a sheet of plywood scale 1 In= 1 ft. Make a cardboard copy & bend it to what looks right & measure for the other bulkheads.
I can see you running up the Missouri River with this little boat following you along. Great vids. Keep em coming.

Yes you can if you use epoxy. I would try a small piece first but I have had no problem glassing the extruded foam with System 3 resin. Did a lot of it on the Jani J.
