I'm 53 yrs old now... I can remember listening to this on an old 33rpm record years ago back in the late 70s with my dad at a family reunion in De Funiak Springs Fl. Great comedy bit...EVEN BETTER MEMORIES!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama. Great
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Wendy Bagwell at his furniture store in Georgia. I had listened to him since I was young. He was such a hilarious person!
The first time I heard Brother Bagwell was over thirty years ago. His material is still refreshing and funny as all get out 😂😂😂. Good clean fun. Thank you for posting this great content.
Great Story I've listened to it over and over. Every time he recorded it he told it a little different. I like the line about where's the door, Geraldine says, "I already looked and there ain't one. Reckon, where do they want one?"
I used to hear him, particularly this classic and "Ol' Ralph Bennett's Volkswagen" on "The Road Gang" on WWL out of New Orleans. I miss the days when AM radio was worth listening to.
We've since found a better copy of this, & re-uploaded a Hi-Q version for you here: th-cam.com/video/FE4z60a_lew/w-d-xo.html
Wonderful! Thank you for doing that, and letting us know.
I met him and the ladies in the winter of 1995, shortly before he died. I'll never forget it!
