Missed a fundamental point - the number of motion events that you get for one long SMD detect is just mind boggling. It is like ping-ping-ping .... with almost no break. Having so many events be generated makes this feature useless.
Hi, my previous cctv dvr were stolen when there was a break in last month, and i just got a new dahua cctv system. I discovered that the motion detection messages were very helpful. However, are these messages and videos a recording stored virtually or is it just a snippet of playback from the dvr recording? The reason i asked is, can i still view the messages and the video of the motion detection if the dvr got stolen?
Thank you for the video. Is there a way to rather push pictures to the notifications and not video. The internet at my area is bad and it struggles to play the video notifications. I saw on the old gDMSS app you could select the "push type", but with the new app I cant find that function.
I don't think that is an option for push notifications, however, you could set up email alerts and those use pictures vs. video which would solve your issue.
Hi, thanks for the video... I have a different problem, I have NVR device with the hard drive from Dahua and 3 IPC cameras added to it via IP. I have NVR added by P2P (as this is the only way to link with account and in theory get notification) and I have motion detection turned on. What I can do succesfully is I to setup e-mails notification, but I totally fail to get push notifications in the app and at that moment I think I've already checked every option.

Use tripwire to stop that. Then you only get notified when the plane is crossed.
So, what happens if someone steals the DVR/NVR? Is any of the footage setting off the alarm stored on the app? Sound was fine, by the way 🙂

If the recorder is gone, I don't believe they will play back unless you had micro-SD cards in the cameras
