Jokes about r* pe and pedophelia? NO. So Western stand ups self censor and I expect this Alhabadi guy to do the same. On his channel someone mocked Deepika Padukone's depression. Now Meghan Markle has also claimed depression and suicide ideation. Many contest that but I haven't seen jokes by stand ups about either her depression or suicide ideation. Why? There's plenty to satirise about Markle without going into grey areas.

Yes moral responsibility and etiquette is required. Action to control these outbursts are required for all equally.
I have a 12 year old, I have seen their friends... they are truly impressionable at that age. We can say that if you dont like it don't watch it, but who will teach children what is right and what is wrong. We have an active discussion scene at home about everything, what is right, and what is wrong. What is acceptable and what can not be normalized. With content like this, it's just a lot of work for the parents on an everyday basis. What about those children whose parents are not that involved and can get access to such crass content?
There's hundreds of things over the internet that can have a bad influence on children. It ultimately is the parents' responsibility to monitor what the child is consuming. Apps like yt kids can help.
This is quite embarrassing for a parent to be saying this. Is it a comedians responsibility to be raising your 12 year old? If your child at this age can access such material under your guidance then you have failed as a parent. You might be shocked to know that this show is not worst thing on the internet. “Who will teach what is right or wrong?” Its YOU the parent that’s solely responsible. If this is “alot” of work for you well then i hold your hand when i say this…you’re not ready to be parent. Freedom of speech should be ammended
Their should be some rules what we can say what not
@@Aryanrajput-t5s That's already the case. The right to freedom of speech act was amended by Nehru just 1 or 2 years after the Constitution was adopted, and "reasonable restrictions" were added. I agree. This deserves a societal reaction, not a legal one. Society should collectively get together and boycott that pos, there's no need to criminalize speech though.
Very interesting take. Thanks for sharing this .
This type of content shapes the psychology of the vulnerable who are prone to participate in the actions being discussed giving rise to criminal mentality so I believe it IS an issue that needs to be addressed much as other major concerns in our society.
The show and their content being heavily criticized is great and is what we need, but people asking for police complaints and politicians being involved is just as embarrassing. We need to learn to filter and criticize the low tier content we get without getting as touchy as we do.

yeah, well said Faye. was speaking to my mother the other day - was telling her that for a country like india, where the internet is pretty much unrestricted and wrong-doers mostly go unpunished, the internet is a far bigger bane than it is a boon. india isn't a country that can handle their rights coz most people don't remember their duties/ responsibilities. who we are, as a people - those who love to create filth and consume filth. that's the sorry state of affairs (and yes there are exceptions, but those are the minority)

The freedom of speech is a fundamental right but it’s always outweighed over the fundamental responsibilities. Sigh creators of liberal arts forget their responsibilities not just legally but also socially. They are either driven by profit incentives or with a moto of generalisation of likewise mindset. Personally I’ve heard majority of my friends watch his show and that’s their freedom to watch anything but it’s also the moral responsibility of such “influencers” to actually supplement a positive impact to the viewer along with entertainment, crossing the limits of decency in the name of freedom is just diabolical.

Popular content reflects people's choices-if garbage content gets views, creators will keep making it. The real issue isn’t just TH-cam but the country’s broader lack of discipline-poor civic sense, disregard for rules, and hypocrisy of it all. People complain about online trash but ignore the literal garbage on the streets. At least a bad video can be turned off, but stepping outside means facing a mess with no escape. The country needs strict enforcement, heavy fines, and zero tolerance for civic disruptions.

India's got latent is not meant for kids and it's their parent's responsibility to monitor the content they consume.
You forgot cultural differences. Decency varies on the culture of the land. Just because in the west somethings are OK doesn't mean it automatically becomes OK in the east. There are a lot of things to learn from the west, not this filth. Stop this insecure mindset that you see Western nations as a benchmark on what should be considered normal and what's not. West itself have become modest compared to 70s and 80s. Does that mean they are backsliding or what?
@@mandokiin-k9h Cultures exist but they are not static. Cultures evolve over time, and nothing is set in stone. That being said, I did not like the content. It was cringe and pretty sick to talk about. However, the level of outrage over this is ridiculous. Demanding heavy censorship of media or filing charges undermines the maturity and self-control of adult Indians. Are we suggesting that Indians lack the ability to think critically for themselves? It's time to grow up. Vulgar jokes exist globally, not just in the West. Take it or leave it. We have far more pressing issues to fix in this country. Also, I’m unsure what data you have to support that the West are becoming more modest. And what aspect of modesty you are referring to as well.
@@rohitvaishnav25 "cultures evolve over time" evolve is not the word, it's the change. Making an incest joke freely and society happily normalizing it isn't "evolution" it's just change. About modesty I'm talking about media and films which had more liberty in 70s, 80 and even 90s, now immediately gets cancelled because of wokeness. In Hollywood there are popular actors who view nudity as a bad trait because it objectifies woman! That's why I said there is no such thing as "evolve" it's only change not necessarily good or bad. Free speech, freedom of speech, freedom of expression comes with responsibilities. Boundaries are being pushed someone rightly said ‘If you want to destroy any nation without war, just normalise nudity and adultery to the youth’, we are witnessing it.
The country with kamasutra has a problem with nudity ? Or maybe it was when outside influence came and interfered with the societal fabric.
@ O you think all nudity is same? That’s what I thought. Simpleton. News for you: There’s tasteful nudity and there’s vulgar nudity. The difference is in tone context intent. What’s the tone context and intent of Samay shitbag?
@ The Kamasutra and other ancient texts reflect an era when sensuality was viewed as a natural and integral part of life. However, societal norms change over time due to various influences, including colonial rule, socio-political shifts, and cultural evolution. So, while historical India had a different outlook, modern India has developed its own set of norms regarding nudity and modesty.
Today’s youth are more impressionable and easily influenced compared to earlier generations, who were more grounded in moral values. In contrast, the youth of that era, despite being exposed to texts like the Kamasutra, had a deeper understanding of sensuality within a structured moral and cultural framework, rather than being led astray by external influences.

i believe that justifying everything by saying "which law does it violate" is actually frivolous and senseless since human beings are considered rational creatures , one should not require law to guide each and every step of us, since the whole idea of rights which are basically powers in a democracy is based on the assumption that human beings are capable of using it responsibly. however this particular incident goes onto to show that we are not, and a neutral overwatch mechanism is required in this case.
‘India’s Got Latent’ is garbage and should be called out when it makes disparaging comments BUT ALSO Mumbai’s authorities already have a lot on their plate that they need to address.
Most of the indian comedians including female comedians should be banned and called out.
I honestly feel we have had our freedom of speech curtailed for way important issues, and journalists and minorities have been through worse for lesser ‘issues’, i’m not gonna be defending those losers for something we have been losing for a while now. It’s only an issue rn coz incels are bothered
Those numbers are so scary!
He may not be wrong legally but ethically it was lowest to gutter. Freedom of speech doesn't oblige to speak anything immoral, there is a thin line between what to be said and what not to which should always be carefully considered. I don't feel any normal person would go that far thinking or even joking about it unless there is some mental issue underlying his personality.
See his mind is so sick even all the indivituals including the Lady was laughing and nodding this implies how much sick our society went down
Let's not blame the whole society it is just people who watch such derogatory content are to be blamed.. They made that show famous is what I would say..
C'mon black spidey, are you really going to judge the whole society based on the audience present in that show ?
We all have rights .....but we all.more importantly we have duties also.....People shud be responsible on public platform and on the internet...
That show should be shut down, it is so toxic and just seems to be a platform where you gain notoriety based on how low you can get insulting the person in front of you
Ya, cause remember that red dress girl (the one who was getting her dress designed onstage)? I thought it was completely fine, why would her husband (the one who married her at a very young age btw) mind her work as long as she gets money home, these two people were performers (it's done in other countries also and it was completely normal). But Samay Raina completely villianised her past! So yeah, that show has been very problematic.
Freedom of speech has been disrespected. Responsible content creation is of utmost importance in this time and it will be unfortunate if there's no action taken and rules put down.
"men" of culture.
This is shameful in name of freedom. It’s depraved even to hear it. How can you let it pass
4:29 you are wrong ! It was member only ep so don't say anything
He defended his question under the guise of free speech, forgetting that speech is free, but respect is earned ironically proving that freedom of speech comes with the responsibility of respect…
2. Do you have the right to be outraged if I knock on your door and fart when you open and go?
Totally agree. Well mentioned pointers . As a parent , citizen and as a professional who works closely with 13yo+ I am concerned about the low end 'humour' being pushed as content on the internet ... Regulations must come to play . Young minds shouldn't be exposed to such filth .
He started thinking too much abt himself 😡
India needs to decide whether thry want freedom of speech or no. Freedom of speech should not have any restrictions.
Loved this Faye, more power to you ❤
Makes some of us hopeful. That such perversion is noticed and condemned.
No wonder our younger generation has no boundaries of public and private anymore. Society and parents with younger ones are waking up to this.
Well, it's not at all about 18 plus censorship and that cheap raina forgetting a few settings. It's about our values, culture, and ethos. This sort of moral depravity in guise of jokes spread like termites and lead to massive social problems later. Call out the wrong faye, liberal does not mean permisivenes and being valueless
Yes it's a responsibility of the society to point out that it is morally wrong. I feel good that it's been done now.
It is actually disturbing content and the bigger problem is the fact that there were people who actually laughed at those lines.
Faye ❤ Keep up the good work
Disturbing? How old are you? 5?
Many people in India use mother n sister swear words multiple times a day but that is somehow acceptable? Doesn’t that pretty much mean the same thing? Yet people have accepted that in daily lingo. Strange!
Backlash from people against the comedians is understandable but legal case doesn’t make sense. Social backlash is bad enough
I strongly support what Faye is saying. Free speech is a slipery slope. If you dont like it, unsubscribe and change the channel. Content creaters have every tool available to them to limit reach to adults.
What about all the hate speech by BJP lackeys? These people's speeches have provoked violence against minorities. Where is the outcry over this?
Complete rubbish talk by you. This is what we call half truths. Problem is that you guys pin point bjp but not a word on hypocrisy of congress and other parties.
@@732anoopwhats the other half of truth?
Can we give same reasoning as freedom of speech to sell Drugs that whoever wants to consume can do it above age 21. Also sell alcohol without license and make Gun laws like US saying who do not want it to stay away.
btw bjp is not the alone party to make communal sensitive statements. look at what aimim, dmk, congress, SP etc say in jist also. evryrone is wooing thr vote banks. btw thr are role of conduct that is governing these statements and speeches as well unlike and can be challenged to Ec or taken to court. the content on You tube or OTT currently are unregulated wrt these kind of jokes. do not bring politics to justify this freedom
only bjp hate speech ? all political parties say like that .
Correct, there's no incentive in decency. As a society we need to pause and take a hard look where the social discourse is headed.
Freedom of expression isn't absolute.
i had been waiting for so long for someone to call this out!
"What terrible avengers you will make, because these are the examples you are setting" contemporary articulation at its best
The argument is very simple , the video was members only and all the outrage is coming from pirated content. If you don't like it , dont subscribe.
Freedom of speech, without govt intervention! Cancelled/ridiculed/unsubscribed by public? Sure; BUT govt bodies intervening? I say NO
I always wonder why people do not show this kind of outrage on politicians not delivering on their promises and not doing basic work for their constituencies.
💯
From a spiritual perspective, none of us came into existence in this physical body without witnessing our parents engaging in s*x. So, don’t criticize a person who, mistakenly identifying with certain defects, got into trouble-none of us are pure jewels.
One must disintegrate their own defects, "I's," and egos. Many have identified with certain defects that caused them to suffer. So, don’t judge them. If we criticize someone, let’s not forget the law of karma-it may happen to us as well.
We are not pure jewels. We also carry many defects within us that can manifest at any time if we are not aware. So, criticize the defect, not the person.
Hope you all understand. Thank you 🙏❤️
Education is needed in life for so called .....
Well, they are educated so I still don't get your point ?
Do you mean to say 'Common Sense' ?
Dont forget Allah badia has nearly 1 crore subscribers .. añd he has influenced many young lives. He has an international audience.
Sad too late we come to know his dark side . He runs channels under the name of ranveer show,!.. beer biceps.. TRS CLIPS . he has hosted intellectuals religious heads entrepreneur s and people from a wide field . In those shows hechas a calm subdued humble demenour . He conducts shows with Hinduism as cover for the darknside of his mind. He's got split personality
Excellent way to put out the pros and cons of freedom of speech, i have unsubscribed TRS, law has been broken if we consider the morality part of it.
I feel Ranveer was under influence of a truth serum drug where you actually speak, what exactly is always going on in your mind.
Sincerely
Disappointed
I dont care about Ranveer or his content. But I am going to make an argument that will appeal to the intelligence of rational people. What is 'decency'? Can it be described in absolute terms? What I think is decent maybe indecent to someone else. Decency and vulgarity are concepts that are subjective. And there are bigger issues on social media than lewd jokes. This sort of content doesnt harm the mental or physical health of the masses, yes it is in bad taste, and that is all it is. But it doesnt harm anyone. There is much more dangerous and divisive content on social media that is affecting the physical and mental health of people in India. There is plenty of misinformation, disinformation that is spread via social media and noone is worried about that. Instead we are making a big deal over some lewd joke. Speaking of children gaining access to this content, the RESPONSIBILITY of monitoring how children under 18 years use social media is on the parent. In India however, parents dont think it is their job and provide children with free access to social media and the internet, often without any adult supervision. Regulating what children have access to is the job of the parent. Please read the age restrictions and the terms of usage for social media sites such as TH-cam. It specifically says under 18 with parental constent, which means the parent needs to monitor. Calling for government intervention and censoring is not the way for a so called modern liberal society. PS: If you want to speak about issues with social media platforms, lets talk about how fact checking has been removed and India doesnt have any laws regulating AI. Which means deepfake videos can easily be circulated. Videos that look so real, that they can potentially incite religious uprisal, videos that can result in financial frauds, videos that can be used for blackmail and defamation. Lets talk about that, instead of some silly lewd joke that doesnt affect anyone.
People be giving maa behen ki gaaliyan and still getting offended on Ranveer Allahbadia's ❤comment 😅.. seriously
those gaaliyans arent watched by 13 millions overnight .. tho both are wrong,, here the main factor is the medium used
@@ritikkothari2787 Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti hai 💯👌🏼
Yeah, so I can say use those words when public is not watching me. Having one persona in public and another in private is hipocracy
@FayeDsouza, I believe we are stuck in our generation and don’t understand the sensibilities of today’s youngsters!
1. Youngsters have accessibility to too much information. Should we stop that?
2. They have the flexibility to choose how they can earn money and are financial independent at a young age. Should we stop giving the monetary support to pursue their freedom?
3. We need to reflect that if we as society are so touched by these comments, rape and parading women in Manipur shouldn’t happen.
These kids are showing us mirrors and we as society see ourselves ugly. So stop going after these kids and do something meaningful!
"With great power comes great responsibility" a timeless truth that resonates deeply today. I wholeheartedly welcome recent efforts to curb the misuse of free speech as a shield for vulgarity and indecency. It’s disheartening to see much of contemporary Indian standup comedy reduced to derogatory remarks about women, explicit references to body parts, and crude humor disguised as edginess. This shift toward shock value over substance reflects a concerning decline in artistic integrity. Let’s hope this moment sparks a return to wit that respects dignity while still challenging norms.
Law is broken and action should be taken against Samay raina for his channel.
@@angelajai murderers and rapists are roaming freely, and you want law to punish a comedian and a stupid podcast host.
Totally agree with you Faye D'Souza. Certainly punishment for such gravity of irresponsibility needs to be taken. However, let's not forget the lesson to be learnt by each one in this case. Freedom of speech with responsibility needs to be implied.
There should be no vulgarity in the name of freedom of speech.
I watch beer biceps and Ranveer’s podcasts never found anything disrespectful however never watched Raina samays vlogs and if they are found to be disgraceful content repeatedly then needs to shut down
Unfollow him immediately.
Very well said Faye !! Responsible speech is very very important especially when you are an influencer.
Love how well you've put this, Faye! They have all the power to make a meaningful difference, yet they choose to stoop so low, all for a few laughs.
Was burhani wani a freedom fighter or a terrorist or Bhagat Singh a freedom fighter or a terrorist ? Now what Ranveer said Was it perversion or was it freedom of speech? Just take your stand. For me it was perversion and that makes Ranveer a pervert
Freedom speech doesn’t mean filthy talk !!
People talking about real issues. How many of you have asked these guys to talk on those issues? As fans and followers defending them now. 😂 I see a comment above air quality index and shit.
Freedom of speech should be backed by accountability and responsibility of speech.
