    The title hurts our Pinoy brothers across the sea, buying a company doesn't mean buying the country. Foreign investment is actually good for domestic economy. There are laws and regulations governing these type of investments.

      @@susuedamameee regardless, Monde Nissin is registered as a Filipino company based in PH. It taxes both in local govt and in national. And in PH law, Betty Ang being the Filipino c-owner was the majority owner @ 60% of the total company and only 40% to the foreign partner is legally allowed.

    I am Indonesian, even though there are many bath soap and shampoo products in Indonesia.. I always look for products made in the Philippines, once I found a papaya soap product in a supermarket with a very similar packaging design but I knew it was not made in the Philippines, and I would not buy it. I am upset and angry. Why is there someone imitating the design of Philippine products here. I am very ashamed. For me, the Philippines is still great.

    Any investment company in the Philippines can be 100% foreign owned as long as they do not hold any real estate property. A good number of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines are substantially held by foreign investors.

      Acquiring Philippine citizenship is a tedious process for foreign investor newcomer who merely wants to do business but don't want to marry a Filipino citizen to circumvent the foreign land ownership ban. Why not amend the 1987 Constitution and allow foreigners to buy and own real properties legally to avoid being scammed by exotic-looking but uneducated Filipino spouses?

      All Nations without Nukes are weak. PH follow Peaceful path in World Order. But if threatened, it doesnt back down easily, just like its achievement in Korean War- Battle of Yultong, under-man under-armed less than 1,000 Filipinos defeated 40,000 Chinese Communist.
