Almost as marvelous as the djinn- blah blah blah elementals, blah blah blah primals, blah blah blah succubi *wink* *wink*, blah blah blah ghouls etc. etc." It would probably go on for a few hours.
Desolation twin is so good with Volo, instant 40 board presence
Twinning Staff would also increase the number of copies you create.
Wait, if you use Spark Double and copy your commander, it resolves, you cast another spell. 3 Triggers on the stack, 1st one resolves, token copy is created. Don't the 2nd and 3rd trigger of your commander copies first check and see a token copy of the inital creature already on the battlefield and then decide not to make a copy?
Good question. I think that Volo's ability checks when it triggers and not when it resolves, so you should be good. But don't quote me :)
My blue-green Eldrazi deck will love this guy.
But that’s a tribal deck?
@@thomasjames1067 no there are a dozen Eldrazi the rest are cards to support them of which few are same type so they can be cloned to get more mana or blockers. Also in an Eldrazi deck they are likely to board wipe me, take my Eldrazi, exile them. And I even have 8 counterspells in the damn deck and 2 green protections (I might want to swap a couple of counterspells with Counterspell and Mana drain but except those I already have 1 mana or free negations already) yet they keep leaving me with no creatures. With a guy like this that can double my shit I can simply protect him and they will need a ton of removals to be able to stop me.
I was looking at the Commander 2021 simic deck to see if it if would work with this and one card in the deck that stood out was the desolation twin which would be a good choice for Eldrazi type
I’m building Volo around Clones. Clones will lose their types printed on the card, allowing you to make nearly twice the clones, and with token doublers, even more copies
I think this would work well with riku the twin reflections deck as well.
Morphs have no creature type btw, you couldn’t flip the token but an extra etb every time you cast one could be nice
Heirloom blade loves this
If you wanted to ramp more i might consider running risen reef as well eventhough it is also an elemental
What about Full Flowering? Its basically a clone spell that has multikicker 2. Selesnya Eulogist also looks really good for populate, since the copies are tokens.
Would adrix and nev be worth despite not getting a copy whats more simic than getting three tokens per creature
For Volo how would shapeshifters work with the deck? Would it copy them or copy nothing this they're every tribe?
How dare you insult my oozey boys! They are perfect.
Dryad Arbor is definitely a must.
Volo triggers on cast, dryad arbor is a land so it is played not cast
Can someone help me with how would a Beanstalk Giant works on this deck? thank you!
Why is the video definition only at 360p?
Thinking of Muldrotha:
Do you think casting a creature from a graveyard would remove it from the graveyard first?
I think that would trigger Volo
Yes, it does explicitly remove it from your graveyard.
I haven't done any research into this, but I'm curious if there's any creatures that can be broken or create loops if you've got two of the, cause that's where I'd try to go with this commander.
song on the ending credits?
Does double etb work? Don’t know how this stacking works: do the Volo triggers just make copies, or is there a check first before those checks turn into the copies? The second version would stop double etb since it makes the copy, then it checks the field on the second trigger and fails bc the copy shares creature types.
Yes it doubles etbs due to the fact that it copies the spell while on the stack.
And there isn't the removal factor, but I think biogenic ooze is a better fit in this deck, because you get 4 4/4 bodies for 5 mana after you end your turn
This seems like it would be excellent in a chulane deck
does not work since Chulane needs to CAST a creature in order to trigger his abilities
What's better then 1 perminating mass? How does 16 at once sound?
I’m actually building a Volo Clone deck.
What if you play morph? Or shapeshifter tribal?
See that's what I keep thinking I have a volrath the shape stealer deck that this would be perfect for because the older shapeshifters focus on becoming copies of other creatures including creature type
I just wish we had a new Legendary Orc I need a awesome commander.
since the WotC revealed that they are planning for a FR set i had in mind Gruumsh the god of Orcs and Goblins. I still hope we will see him in planeswalker card
I'm loving all of these videos, thank you so much for all of the info on these cards!!
Side question: what's your favorite class in dnd??
Volo is amazing man! I love it!
You could also do this as a flash creature deck.
what about Adrix and Nev, Twincasters? double the tokens, double the ETB's
Triple, really, cause you get the original creature too
