    I really enjoyed watching your winters night and starry night tutorials. As a newbie to polymer clay it was great to see the process from making the pieces and then how to put it all together.

      One question I have was about putting the beads on tissue paper so they won't get a flat spot. I was wondering what kind of tissue paper to use and how to do it so it won't catch on fire in the oven.

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any soft tissue will work. They shouldn't catch fire in the oven so long as they aren't touching the heating elements.

    I don't know where my first comment went so I'll try again. I do have a question. How long does it take to do the 3 coats of varathane up to the point just before drying them? You may have said, but I was playing with my cat while trying to watch this at the same time, lol. I did catch the part about them drying for a half hour. This is absolutely beauful! I really appreciate that you tutorials are so clear, simple and easy to understand. Thank you so much. 😊💕🌹

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It took me around ten minutes to apply each coat, plus half an hour for each coat to dry. So the total time it took to finish the beads was around 2 hours.

    • @MargaretSchindel
      @MargaretSchindel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Samantha said to let each coat of Varathane dry before applying the next coat, and that drying time for her in between coats was around 1/2 hour. (Your mileage could vary, depending on things like the temperature and humidity in the room you're working in.) Then she said to let the last coat of Varathane dry for a full hour. I hope that helps!

      Tamara Eidsvik That type of pin vise (that you push and the drill bit turns automatically) is sometimes called a “push drill”. Hope that helps when you’re shopping for one!

    Do you prefer to drill your beads after baking rather than putting holes in before baking?

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to drill after baking as it leaves a neat hole. If you used a pin to do it before baking the hole and the beads would be distorted.

    Winter comes to the USA officially on December 20-December 21, depending upon whom you ask, Samantha. Of course, if you're looking at the the weather then you could have Winter as soon October, even September if you're talking some places, like Colorado or especially Jackson Hole, Wyoming, 😳 ONE is REALLY TALKING ABOUT SNOW! 🌬❄

    Beautiful and elegant. ..are the black beads clay ??? Can you use a dremel drill? ?

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The black beads are polymer clay. You can use the dremel drill. You just need to find a safe way to hold the beads still while drilling.

    • @JessamaTutorials
      @JessamaTutorials  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The translucent is what I used to pack the white stripes of cane. It's the part that went translucent once baked.
