- BORIS Johnson compared himself to the mythological Greek god who was cruelly punished for giving fire to mankind in a speech at the UN.
The PM suffered a setback yesterday in his mission to deliver Brexit when the Supreme Court ruled his UK Parliament shutdown was unlawful.
In another development the PM also had his first meeting with Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani last night in a bid to broker an end to the Gulf crisis.

Whether you love or hate Boris, he certainly gave the UN translators a run for their money with his command of the English language.
He enjoyed absolutely every bloody minute of that.
They have the printed speeches ahead of time - at least they are supposed to - and at such important events as the UNGA, they definitely do. Part of slick system to make sure interpreting works, so a few days before, the various interpreting teams will receive the speech, and work out the difficult parts, and then prepare and practice for it. The administrators of the interpreters then chase the various country missions to deliver the speeches.
He's having a laugh /the time of his life. He's going out with a massive fireworks party. The man was set up to fail. He prorogued parliament. For five weeks. He used all his bullets in one go. Like Pacino at the last phase of scarface. Fearless. Playing it like a superstar. This one is the real Joker my friends. For sure.

I agree with you. I first heard the edited version and went into shock, but mentally kept replaying what he said, and his delivery. This was September 2019 - pre CV19. So IMO he’s revealing the plan and directing attention towards vaccines and their contents. I keep remembering DJT’s words when BJ was recovering from CV19 - “He’s our friend. He’s my friend”. It was recorded because all UN addresses are recorded. The sniggering was going on because of how exaggerated the entire speech was - the circumstance of a world leader saying the phrase "pinked-eyed terminators sent back from the future" in front of the UN is quite absurd and funny, at least in my opinion.

I honestly don't think the 70,000 extra or whatever the leave campaign spent really upset the result that much. Considering much of the government spending in the campaign was not even counted as being part of the remain campaign, such as the leaflet, which was clearly pro remain.

@M ZAKRIA The thing about worst-case scenarios is they are normally bad, even if there is practically no chance of it happening with something as big as Brexit it would be irresponsible to not consider and have preparations in place for it. Its a standard thing to do with big government projects or even business ones so they can get ahead of anything if it does happen. The reality is it is most likely not going to be anyway near that bad, but i feel more confident to know that if it was? they still have a plan.

This speech provides a glimmer of what I always thought that Boris Johnson's character was.
However, since becoming the PM of the UK's government, some very very disturbing other facets of his character has come into the glaring daylight.
Some of these facets prove to, actually, be a danger to the good standing and fortunes of the UK.
That was the greatest UN speech I've ever heard. I have to say that the more I see of this man the more I admire him.
